EDITOR OF REDSTATE

If you oppose health care deform, you are a racist, hate-spouting, Aryan who roots for the assassination of Barack Obama

Perhaps you should read the title again.

From the floor of the United States Senate, today Rhode Island Senator Sheldon Whitehouse proclaimed as much about opponents of health care, including his Republican colleagues inside the United States Senate.

The President of the Senate let him get away with it.

Senator Whitehouse specifically said, “They are desperate to break this president. They have ardent supporters who are nearly hysterical at the very election of President Barack Obama. The birthers, the fanatics, the people running around in right-wing militia and Aryan support groups, it is unbearable to them that President Barack Obama should exist. That is one powerful reason. It is not the only one.”

There you have it — gone are the days when Democrats compared American soldiers to Nazis on the floor of the Senate. Today, Democrats condone one of their own calling, from the floor of the Senate, the majority of American citizens Aryan hate mongers rooting for the assassination of the President of the United States.

And yes, Whitehouse was referring to the majority of American citizens. How do I know? Because every single poll is showing the majority of Americans opposed to this health care deform legislation. Whitehouse labeled everyone opposed to the legislation as racist hatemongers rooting for bullets against the President.

That is sad, sick, pathetic, and should be condemned by every other Senator.

In fact, you should call your Senator at 202-224-3121 and ask if he condemns Senator Whitehouse for saying, from the floor of the Senate, that opponents of the Democrats health care legislation want Barack Obama to be assassinated — the only clear interpretation of his remarks.

The legislation that has traveled down the path from the House to the Senate has shape shifted and morphed so often that it’s original purpose has been completely lost.

The President does not, and never has had a plan.

Those that oppose this legislation oppose the actions of Congress, not the President. It is the House and Senate that have created this monstrosity, and they should bear the credit and the blame.

If Republicans cannot protect themselves then it is their own fault. Obviously it was blatantly disrespectful and total hypocrisy after Whitehouse condemns harsh rhetoric by spewing some of his own but what is a conservative to do…?
If the GOP members of the Senate just sat there and took it then I won’t get too upset about it. The game has changed and the Democrats are writing the rules. The game is called hardball and the GOP had better learn to play it or in a few years they won’t even have twenty seats. If they don’t know what that thing they feel on their back is, it is called a wall.
How about some friggin’ pushback once in a while.

  • mikefisk

…using nothing other than the statements the left has excreted the past decade. Shall we?

Back in 2000, they told us that, regardless of any sort of argument against it, that majority rule was the sine qua non of American democratic society.

Now, they’re telling us that those who oppose the Democrats’ twisted version of health “reform” is somehow an Aryan, neo-Nazi, racist.

That being said, almost any opinion poll taken as of late has shown a majority of Americans are opposed to the plans going through Congress like a ninja through the estate of a rival daimyo (that is to say stealthily and with intent to do grave harm).

Putting that together, wouldn’t that indicate that they themselves are Aryan supremacists? Just asking questions.

(Yes, I’m well aware that, to the left, their statements are, for some reason or other, not applicable more than a couple of days after they were uttered; curious, as they use their record to hold onto seniority in Congress and accrue their pensions, but not to actually hold any principles besides craven opportunism. Sad.)

Chafee (the RINO that Mr. Whitehouse replaced) was almost all “INO” and barely any “R”.

If we still had him in the Senate, this bill would still pass with 60 votes, and the only difference is he would give them the political cover to call it bi-partisan.

‘Cause that’s how bad Chafee was — I don’t even regret that he lost to this jerk.

Even if he’d won his ’06 race, making the Senate 50-50 +Cheney, he’d have pulled a Jim Jeffords before the 110th Congress even convened. Harry Reid would have given Chafee the moon, not that he would have to have given him very much.

As for Whitehouse, I prefer to treat him the way Rush treated Rhode Island’s other illustrious senator when he made some asinine remark not too long ago: “Who?” And you’d have a hard time finding very many people who could answer.

I say “aggressive” because, unlike most tracking cookies which can go unnoticed, these can be detected because they cause some interference in my normal computing.

Sheldon Whitehouse can flap his worthless mouth all day long for all I care. He’s marginal and irrelevant. Senator Sheldon’s frustrated enough to call us Nazis? Good. I like knowing we keep him up at night.

I’m more worried about what these people do. Lincoln Chafee was a de facto Democrat. He was a problem for us and if he’d stayed around he’d have been a bigger problem for us than ol’ Sheldon here. Now he’s gone. I liked that in 2006 and I like it now.

So yeah, I do think differently when I hear that being given a rhetorical kick by an absolute nobody means I have to fall down. I just laugh. :)

  • Third Street

This “Aryan support groups” stuff is a sideshow. The nutroots will jump up and down and cheer, we’ll get angry and indignant, and the 70% of the American public that pays scant to no attention to politics will never even hear about it. The net practical result of all of this is zero — except that we’ve expended time and energy getting angry at a nobody, at a cost of emotional energy that which we have precious little to spare. All this tells me is that Sheldon Whitehouse is an angry little man and that the supermajority-Democrats are frustrated at their huge problems in holding this mess of a health-care bill together. Frustrated people lash out when they don’t know what else to do.

They think we’re white supremacist Nazis? Yeah, what else is new? They’d love for us for us to take that bait! To play on their terms, on their field; to accept the whole premise of the remarks by jumping up and screaming “hey wait a minute, we’re not Nazis!” thereby diverting the entire health-care debate onto an ideological off-ramp that takes the focus away from the issues of unsustainable costs, the degradation of options and care, and the obscene individual mandates that have turned public opinion so heavily against ObamaCare. Harry Reid has already tried to distract everybody by invoking Jim Crow; that didn’t work and neither will this.

No, screw Sheldon. He’s already voting to nationalize health-care; I’m not going to let him ice that particular cake by ticking me off with an empty insult. I think the poor guy just wants to get noticed and sees that this kind of looney-tunes stuff boosted Alan Grayson’s profile. Next Sheldon will show up on the Senate floor in a pinstripe suit. :)

  • Third Street

…at a personal level, after the last few days of fury and anguish, I simply don’t have the emotional energy to allocate to a guy like this, and if I did I’d be wasting it. For me that translates into a grin, a shake of the head, and a whaddya-gonna-do remark involving Lincoln Chafee. We’re down to the wire and we can still win, and I’m saving my anger for the Democrats who matter. And they’re gonna hear it.

  • Third Street

Senator Whitehouse must apologize to all white Americans. Enough! We are living in the 21st century. The time has come for all racist dirt-bags to understand that the whites in America have had with the race card.!

Sir, I accuse you and your radical leftist associates of being racists. When you deliberately force unconstitutional laws on all citizens of the USA, and we question a 2000 page health care bill, you respond by calling us unpatriotic. When conservatives oppose your radical programs bent on bankrupting America, you insult us stating that we are ” hysterical” because Obama, a black man, is in the White House! When Tea Bag patriots address your liberal agenda both vocally and forcefully; you attack us with your vitriolic nonsense and call us race haters.

Repeatedly, you resort to the same old rhetoric. You want to intimidate whites. You expect whites to hide, crawl into a hole and refuse to fight back. No more. This is the 21st century, your words and deeds are “20th century”. Your divisive bogus tirades are passe. In the end, when the smoke clears you will find that you and your vile associates are true racists. How dare you refer to all whites as “birthers, fanatics, right-wing militia men, members of Aryan support groups. You could of course add words to your hate list about whites.. Try the terms albinos, Christ Killers, dagos. gringos, rednecks, crackers or muzzies for example. Given your description of whites, one can only assume that you have the guts to describe black conservatives with the same attack mode.

Senator, stand up tall at the podium in the Senate of the United States of America and tell us what you believe black conservatives are made up of in this age of name calling par excellance. I am sure that you plan on referring to fine conservative black man or women as” hysterical” Uncle Toms, Blue Gums, Aunt Jamima lackeys, jigaboos, tar babies, pickaninnies, oreos. Then again Senator you are a hate monger. When you dish it out, make sure that it is “equal justice” under the law. Swine.

You are a disgrace to the fine people of Rhode Island. As an American white female, I am ashamed of you. Above all you are a detriment to all Americans. You need to be thrown out of office. You have wasted our time and energy spewing obscenities at white people simply because you do not want them to ask tough questions about the future of the United States of America. You are pathetic.

Shame on you Senator! You are of little if any values to our country. Your words are inflamatory, demeaning, condescending and contemptuous bent directly and deliberately on assuming that you “know” your race well. You are a fool.

Apologize Senator or get out of office.
