Then look him in the eye while you say “For later.”

    Then smile.

  • Common_Cents

Offer him either paper or plastic.

  • http://www.thehayride.com MacAoidh

…somebody YouTube the thing for me.

Ask him what job Kip Holden’s sister is up for in the Louisiana Democrat Party. Or, in the alternative, ask him if he really thinks Chris Whittington needs to go so Buddy “$44 a vote” Leach should be the new head goofball.

Don’t watch THAT cheerleading channel not since AC360 interveiw with can BO in 08, when it was like watching a swooning teenage girl. And if you believe this I’m not the only one

  • stixxxnstones

I’ll get the video of the carnage.

  • SteveLA

    Eric

When Carville begins to levitate and spit, reach over and rub his head. I’ve always wanted to see someone do that.

Or maybe ask him if he knows what the meaning of Is….is… finally.

  • Swamp_Yankee
  • SteveLA

Carville is spinning hard, Erick putting holes in MSM straw mans.

Carville, what the heck does “Beg the wrong country”, oh throw the Unionization of the TSA into the mix….boy he’s good.

  • Old_Crow

Taking on Carville, you’re in the big league now.

  • stixxxnstones

Carville is getting shellacked :D This is hilarious :’D

  • Old_Crow

    Nice.

Video is in clipping, I’ll have it to you in ten minutes or so.

  • bs

I suggested the head-rub on Facebook last night. That would be awesome…

  • Aaron Gardner

    Nice job Erick.

  • SteveLA

More foot stomping by CNN talking head is lady on the made up issue of “Obama is not flying home from vacation to deal with this crisis”… who cares as Erick puts it. The seat of government is where Obama is, and is always informed by his staff…big deal. evil Republicans picking on poor little Obama story not happening. Most excellent Erick.

Another good one Erick, other than Carville trying his usual link the crisis of the day to some other Democratic political point, Erick by not playing the game did great.

  • SteveLA
  • makemyday

Verrrrrrry nicccccceeeee job there Erick! Facts and truth wins out over talking points everyday!

  • SteveLA

Next time Carville starts to spin criticism of Obama as an attack on some Democratic initiative or other such noise….laugh at him and ask if he wants to be serious about the issue at hand or crack jokes. If I read Carville right, nothing will infuriate him more than being laughed at and an infuriated Carville looks stupid.

    That’s the replay.

James is losing his venom in his old age. Perhaps he is starting to agree with Mary! LOL I love it when he goes nuts and his entire face and head turn red.

Great job Erick. Someone above said that facts win out.James had no valid retort.

I also agree that Obama could address the Boxer Bomber situation from Hawaii. The only thing he did wrong was wait 3 days to do it.

  • stixxxnstones

    Look at my comments below…

  • djemi

I was watching but sometimes a 4 and a half year old needs all of my attention.

  • Common_Cents

But the left loves their sarcastic aholes. But cmon, I’m sure a few CNN execs are wondering to themselves what a poor showing Carville gives. Truly pathetic.

He was so flustered he pulled out the “well at least we didnt invade the wrong country” not once but TWICE. That is the same analysis you get in an AOL chatroom.

  • stixxxnstones

He called the Boxer Bomber “The Eunich Bomber.”

    LULZ.

  • http://www.veronicaestrada.com/ Veronica Estrada

MSM & the WH validating Cheney relevance to conservative commentary and debate. Still a force to be reckoned with.

    Great work, Erick!

Your points were cool, clear, impactful, definitive, and sharp.

You were all over it in this debate…..and Carville is considered among their best.

    GREAT JOB!

  • Vegas_Rick

I love shredded strawmen in the afternoon!

  • bk

How would you know the difference vs a non-infuriated Carville?

  • SteveLA
  • cajun_mike

I always knew I liked you Erick. Of course your mom is Cajun, which is why your name is spelled wrong. That Louisiana public school system failed her like most down here. LOL

Which part of Louisiana is she from and what is her maiden name? Please tell me it’s not Boudreaux or Thibodeaux. LMAO!

By the way, most LSU people cant stand the fact that Carville attended LSU and the people at the University of Louisiana-Lafayette can’t stand him using the name “Ragin’ Cajun”.

  • http://www.thehayride.com MacAoidh

…no damn sound on the office computer.

    Thanx, stixxx.

  • Richard Mullins

Since Erick is hybriding of the Scandinavian Erik and Anglo-Saxon Eric. It’s either that it was easier for his mother to spell. As Carville, I’ve always seem to call him Cue Ball Carville(Mr Carville’s English has gotten worse over the years, I feel like I need a Translator).

  • Achance
  • Tbone

through AAA and now getting some starts in the Bigs. Oh, and doing well.

I’ll bet Carville didn’t vote for Barry.

  • clowngirl

When that woman ( I don’t know her name I practically never watch CNN) asked “Is this part of a campaign by Republicans to try and paint Obama as weak on National Security?” I knew you were gonna hit it out of the park, and you did.

Carville was sputtering like mad (that can’t be an authentic accent anymore does he even still live in Louisiana?) and clearly couldn’t do a thing with your solid answers.

Particularly weak, transparent attempt to “paint” Republicans as exploiting this issue – though probably par for the course. Democrats must really be flummoxed by Dick Cheney’s remarks. (Which were dead on.)

  • http://www.hakubi.us/ Neil Stevens

On the Hawaii question you could have turned it around. “As the former Vice President said, he’s not even willing to accept that the terrorists are attempting to bring the War on Terror to us. Until the President is ready to admit the war exists, he’ll be just as unserious in Washington as he is in Hawaii. So it doesn’t matter where he is.”

  • http://www.voterubio2010.com nelsa

Her maiden name is Villavaso and my spouse grew up in Metairie Parish.
One problem. None of us can cook like my late Father-in-Law. :)

  • Richard Mullins

…but it take some time before you might stop laughing. I’ll give you a hint, what has 88 keys and you play it. I’m sure you’ll figure it out. In interest of Strange name, My Great-Grandfather had a strange one. Yeah, Dock Roland Mullins. I’m fairly sure my Great-Great Grandfather named him. Those strange Hill billies from Pickett County,TN.

  • Richard Mullins

I was having a hard time understanding James at times. Is it me or has his English gotten worse.

  • mbecker908
  • http://www.thehayride.com MacAoidh

Where in the hell is that?

  • http://www.thehayride.com MacAoidh

…Carville is definitely losing it. They might as well have put up Beckel or Begala. Erick needs a stronger opponent than THAT, for crying out loud.

  • Scope

the veins pop on his skin head, and his nostrils flare.

  • janis

fake face comes off. Around these parts, he’s known as “Lizard Man”. I’ve yet to see someone more loathsome in appearance, with the possible exception of Henry Waxman.

This is one of the rare times I wish I had cable TV, Erick, because I know that you mopped the floor with that nasty little man. Congratulations on the much deserved elevation!

  • Leopard1996

And you definitely did not fit their M.O of weak conservative like how Begala used to just own Tucker Carlson on Crossfire.

Great job. You showed Carville and that dumb idiot of a reporter just how stupid they are.

  • Richard Mullins

I’ve never heard of Metarie Parish but I have heard of Metarie. Maybe there was a secret split of Jefferson Parish with Metarie Parish being formed from that split.

  • IJB

    ;)

  • dwintnf

He really looked liked an amateur up their today with you Erick.

He has been on TV so much something must have rattled him.

I bet he had JUST seen the latest poll numbers from Stanley G. and they are that shocking!

    2010-Here we come!

  • Scope

It seems that they thought they could put up their “big guns” against you, obviously a known conservative, and you Conquered Carville on Communist News Network. Great job.

  • http://www.voterubio2010.com nelsa

It was on Nero Street. I’m not from there so I’m not completely sure. sorry for the confusion. We have counties in Florida! :) :)

  • gremlin1974

“we don’t need to haul off and invade the wrong country”…….ROFL

Who in their right mind could take that Carville guy seriously? He’s TANGENT MAN…”well there are palm trees in Hawaii, BO can’t do anything about it!” LOL

Great Job Erick, and what a great ad for Redstate!

  • Richard Mullins

and sometimes those who don’t know things might think that Austin is in Austin County(not it’s Travis) or Houston is in Houston County(not it’s it’s Harris). It gets strange when you have 254 counties and some of them are named the same as some cities.

  • Trelaina

The man must have had a notecard in front of him that said “SYSTEMIC BREAKDOWN”. I swear he said it five or six times.

Nice job Erick. You definitely aced him. Oh, and you dress better too :)

  • seesalrun

due to inane and stupid questions by the “journalist” but

you came off just as you are, honest, sincere and NOT hypocritical.

You, Sir, need more airtime with worthy opponents and better moderators.

    Carville seemed stoned.

    Congratulations.

  • http://www.redstate.com/tnjim TNJim

nice smackdown of political correctness, or in this case, “Napolitano speak”:

On the terminology used to describe war on terror the CNN anchor says “What does it matter, Erick… I speak with senior Administration officials… what it’s (war on terror) called? Per se, if the language, or the words here… if the approach is deliberate?” Then you say “If you’re not willing to call terror ‘terror’ and evil ‘evil’ what are you willing to call things? Some things are black and white.”

Loved the 2-3 second pause after you said that. Her only recourse? Criticize Bush. Great response on that one, too.

  • seesalrun

so simple you would think some would kind a get it.

  • Trelaina

“You, Sir, need more airtime with worthy opponents and better moderators.”

I was struggling with a way to say that the interview itself was lame without making it sound like Erick had anything to do with it. You found the wording I was searching for….thanks!

  • http://www.suvstrategery.blogspot.com SoFiMil

hurtful, and mean. One of many things that happens is that someone who hears your comments, maybe a family member, friend, etc., who may already have self-esteem issues, become more critical or themselves, with negative thoughts, even if nothing is said to him or her personally.

  • seesalrun

    because of the aforementioned.
No doubt in my mind Erick would have slayed the beast, but was – again – humble – polite and assertive -

The forum was not there, perhaps we should start e-mailing Fax on his behalf.

And Carville, although from the South, is now a parody of himself and probably a drunken or stoned buffoon. To think this passes as news….

  • seesalrun

you guys know what I meant

  • Brian Hibbert

I especially liked your response to the “Should Obama go back to the White House” question. It shows which side is more concerned about capability and action and which is concerned about appearances.

  • grace123

    And you look better, too.
Born and bred in Louisiana but now live in Colorado.

  • BooBooKitty

You showed poise, courtesy, and common sense… like garlic and a wooden stake to that old blood sucker!

  • california_red

The tone of the “jouranlist’s” questions to Erick was so condescending. “What does it matter what the Adminstration calls it?”

It’s like she made the pre-argument or setup for Carville on every question.

    And yet Erick prevails.

  • http://www.thehayride.com MacAoidh

    mmm

  • maddog

There you have it. Jim even admitted it Erick had him beat.

  • RedBeard

Carville’s face is only repugnant because of the way he uses it. He doesn’t have to look like a red-faced spittle-flecked vein-popping bug-eyed lunatic. It’s his choice.

  • ocleverone

    Very well done.

  • antisocial

If you are not willing to call terrorism terrorism and evil evil what are you willing to call things. He never got out of academia.

This was your best appearance this year.

  • doublebarreled

I’ve been watching Carville prattle on and bully opponents for 15 years and it’s rare that you see him not jump on someone when he thinks he has the advantage. It’s nice to see someone put him back on his heels a bit.

Extra points to Erick for defusing the CNN anchorette’s rather loaded question of whether Obama should fly back to DC or not. She was obviously baiting him and he slapped it down.

In this day and age, the President does not need to be at the WH to effectively govern, even during a crisis. I think waiting 3 days to issue a statement to the press and doing so without the tie and then having to follow up again with a sterner statement to reinforce the previous statement is what has really damaged him during this whole thing,

I agree 100% that the best thing right now would be for Napolitano to resign. She is obviously out of her depth. Letting her continue to run DHS puts all of us at risk. BHO should see by now what a political liability she is and ask her to step down immediately.

  • antisocial

They are always sort of hyper, hostile to anybody who is not a liberal.

However I did not see condescension. Erick handled this very well. Nothing James Carville or the host could have done or said.

  • avgamerican

The question is specific. Why? Did they not have the intel? Did they have the intel but not take it seriously? Very typically when there is a breakdown, those in charge hide the specific problem in generalization to avoid responsibility. You can be assured that if there is a real catastrophe, Americans will not get the real story. The 9/11 commission was a joke. As stated by John Ashcroft, former Attorney General, “The 9/11 commission was nothing more than a political bureaucracy to shield the Clinton Administration.”

  • orwell

After all, it did land him the role of Gollum in the Lord of the Rings movies. :)

  • Hera

Carville was rather subdued, clearly the dems and the WH are in political trouble over this. Its also very hard to blame Bush when it was the Obama administration that failed to heed a father’s warning not once but three times. Also Napolitano who was appointed by Obama appears inept and incompetent.

  • izoneguy

    Napolitano IS inept and incompetent!!

  • Common_Cents
  • 912watchdog55

I tuned in at wrong time zone to see the CNN anchorette interviewing favorable guests who defended Obama while she was leading them with her questions.

After, she had a British “journalist” report that the thwarted airplane bomber’s father never made any contact or warning to any officials.

These idiots are eager to hide any issues regarding terrorism just to protect BHO’s behind.

  • antisocial

They are more like MSNBC left ideology hustlers. Only CNN chanps try to disguise themselves as middle of the road.

Conservatives have better arguments(and sense) than angry liberals. Erick handled this very intelligently and gracefully. I am not sure the CNN audience was intelligent enough to understand. But then “You can’t fix stupid”

  • suej

Yeah, I caught that too. It said it all.

Great job Erick, first time seeing you and it’s nice to put a face with all the great articles. :)

Carville makes my teeth hurt. He’s ooooooogie!
