…was the smarmy younger guy in the middle of the bottom row? I wanted to smack him.

If the Democrats had immediately had the special election they would have won it. They screwed themselves.

Senator Jim Webb puts out a statement that puts the notion of a quick Senate vote out of reach and pretty much makes a certification fight moot:

In many ways the campaign in Massachusetts became a referendum not only on health care reform but also on the openness and integrity of our government process. It is vital that we restore the respect of the American people in our system of government and in our leaders. To that end, I believe it would only be fair and prudent that we suspend further votes on health care legislation until Senator-elect Brown is seated.

    *sigh*

  • Brian_Roastbeef

… Paul Begala’s head has looked ready to explode for quite a long time…

You really gave it to ‘em. Good one.

  • shadowtax

Because there would not be an election unless he died or gave up the seat. Begala made no sense.

  • michaeld

Kennedy was all for himself his whole life, and in the end that very selfishness just may kill what he fought so hard for…or at least claims he fought hard for it.

ballot he would have won. Dead democrats vote all the time, no reason they can’t win elections, too.

    Too excellent Erick. Great job!!

I wonder how ?The Forehead? would have responded if you mentioned that you were happy that Senator Kennedy has been sober for over 90 days.

Tries to run Ted Kennedy’s corpse against Scott Brown rather than address matters of substance.

How’d he get above running school board campaigns, anyway?

  • http://www.thehayride.com MacAoidh

…what does that idiot who said last year that Mary Jo Kopechne would happily suffocate again in that car for Ted Kennedy have to say tonight?

You made us aware of this race before anyone else was aware. I am over four precincts. I had a meeting a couple of weeks ago with other precinct chairman. Because of you and Redstate, I was able to inform them about the importance of this race. They were fairly clueless that a Senate race was even happening in January.
You and other Redstate members drop a stone in the water that creates ripples that you will never see.
Thank you for all of the hard work you do along with all the other Redstate
    members.
God Bless you with wisdom as you go forward in your efforts to protect America.

    Well said, Erick!

The only problem with your candor is this:
We WANT them to using Ted Kennedy’s self-serving, self-destructive model of public service.

I thought Begala was going to jump out of his window and come after you. That was awesome!
Really, though, you helped make this happen. Kudos to your early support of Scott Brown, and I’m willing to bet we can get Marco Rubio and Chuck Devore in the senate as well. The fight is far from over, but tonight’s victory tastes pretty sweet.

we wouldn’t feel that way about them. So, you can blame God if you want to.

  • ciscoguy

It’s time to start hunting down these marxists one by one. Let them try and hide – we’ll go get them in CA, IL, DE – wherever we have to go. As Mark Levin said, this would have been like Reagan having to go to Utah to defend Orin Hatch’s seat…and losing. We’re going to round ‘em up by the bushel friggin barrel this fall.

  • Achance

That’s the way it works – unfortunately.

    Romney.
His daugter recognition was extremely tacky. Granted they are beautiful.
I know he is over the top overwhelmed with excitement, but leave your daughters out of it. He simply opened them up to a lot of publicity they do not need.
Teddy is spinning in his hell. A Republican is quoting JFK accurately.

  • nivlem

sorry, my laptop skips a beat every one in awhile (actually a lot).

  • mschmitt

Already above the fold, here’s guessing you get the full work-up by the AM.

Now you just need to guess that stocks will likely surge in morning trading and point out that more lives in Haiti were saved by bad a** gun-toting U.S. marines than by Castro’s army of 1950-era utopian medical professionals to pull off the Trifecta (potentially triggering a lib-head-exploding chain reaction of nuclear proportions).

  • Ned Reck

That sick look on Begala’s face was absolutely priceless. Just when I thought the leftist part of the group was gonna get sick, you made ‘em choke on it with that immortal comment about independents not being socialist. As the scene trailed off, thought multiple Heimlichs were in order. Just, just an excellent ending to a fine day.

He called Romney out from the back of stage and shook his hand. Wrong just flat out wrong.

My husband told me he ackowleged Romney while I was walking the pugs.
    My error.
As far as his girls, I understand, just think it opens them up to a lot of ridicule in the future.
Once you bring them into the game, they are fair game.
I really don’t think any of us want our daughters to be subjected to what they are going to be subjected to.

  • Frank Zaber

I can’t stand Paul Begala – never have been able to listen to him for more than 10 words in a row without wanting to ralph.

Any chance that you can get on Olbermann’s show and do the same thing? That is, if you can get a word in edgewise between Keith’s rants about us being teab-ggers, Nazis, brownshirts, Rethuglicans, and all around bad guys?

(Anyone ever notice how conservatives don’t use the cutesy little catchphrases like that, the ones that the progressives think are so wonderful?)

What a wonderful night.. November cant get here soon enough..

Erick, that made me laugh so hard.

I put on MSNBC for a few minutes, I didn’t know they would knock Coakley before she lost officially.

. . make any sense? Yeah, that’s a good one. If Teddy was alive, he would have won. If, if, if, if.

When Paul Begala makes sense, hell truly would be frozen over.

  • Right_Again

He is incapable of discussion, he only wants synchophantic head nodding from his guests. I have never seen him with any guest who remotely represents a conservative (or for that matter, a moderate) viewpoint.

Shame on Ted Kennedy for dying? Paul’s right…low blow. Go ahead and ban me…I won’t be back.

to post without having listened to the audio or read a transcript. Congrats on the self beclowning.

I would have pointed out that after being clean and sober for 5 months that Ted was on a bender last night.

  • louisiana

He was ticked off because you allinskied (word?) him. Irony of ironies. Following up on Warrior’s comment–I’ll buy you a drink too, because that was, at the very least, a 2 free drinks performance!

  • neyney

How appropriate that Kennedy’s own policies and actions in MA have inadvertantly brought about the potential demise of one of his favorite pets, namely national healthcare. The irony is delicious.

Teddy is spinning in a very hot place.
