    But neither Obama nor Carter could/can get away with it. No one is listening to what he’s saying right now. Everyone is just watching what he’s doing.

    Well, that’s an accurate summary of just about all of Obama’s speeches – filled with buzzwords that get repeated over and over again until everyone forgets what the speech was about in the first place. The SOTU wasn’t very different.
