To: contact@redstate.comDear Mr. Erikson: Even you with your exaulted sense of superior intelligence , surely you realize it’s NOT ABOUT THE “BIRTH” — it’s his refusal to provide ANY-ANY biographical evidence of his being or accomplishments. Same would be expected of you and me –right ? We could show up anywhere and refuse to provide porper background and expect to get a “pass”. He’s publically admitted he’s not Constit. qualified..so what’s the “issue”?? The ISSUE is fools like you who are afraid to look the truth in the face and face the consequences. Man-up pal. Or you’re losing followers.
The “truthers” have nothing to do with the “birfers”….apples and lug wrenches… Face it moron.

This illustrates why Birfers are marginalizing themselves
RedBeard Saturday, February 13th at 12:00AM EDT (link)Hoover actually has a valid point in that message, birth certificate aside, that the self-proclaimed Transparency President is actually the most secretive man we have seen in that office, on just about every front. And that is disturbing.
But then Hoover ruins his credibility by tossing in a number of childish and crude insults, plus a tell-tale back-handed defensive statement about Birfers.
As is all too common, real issues become secondary to out-of-control zeal.

BHO Birth Certificate
darracq Saturday, February 13th at 12:10AM EDT (link)Perhaps the resistance to disclosing the original long form birth certificate for our Dear Leader is that information on it may be disconcerting, like showing that his religion is Muslim

There is a difference...
RedBeard Saturday, February 13th at 9:55AM EDT (link)… between “showing that his religion is Muslim” and finding out that his parents listed his religion as Muslim the day he was born. Similarly, my parents named me the day I was born, but I had no input in that decision.
It’s not burferism to wonder if such a selection was made by his parents. The resultant political consequences of seeing that in print could possibly be a reason for him not wanting such a document revealed. Pure speculation, of course. And a possibly damaging distraction not worth spending a lot of time discussing unless some actual facts are present. Concluding as fact that which has no factual basis puts one squarely in the Grassy Knoll camp.
Trying to prove that Obama is some sort of active yet secret Muslim today seems to be a fool’s errand. There is no proof. In fact, all evidence points to the man having little or no faith of any sort, Christian or Muslim or Druid or anything else. It’s not a conspiracy; it’s just who he is. It’s not pretty, but neither is it a plot.

darracq your first post exposes you as an ignorant fool who
mbecker908 (Diary) Saturday, February 13th at 12:44PM EDT (link)doesn’t understand the fundamental concept of “free speech”.
There are Constitutional restrictions against the government exercising censorship. There is no restriction against a private organization deciding that some specific viewpoints are not appropriate for inclusion in their privately owned site.

toughintn (Diary) Saturday, February 13th at 12:29AM EDT (link)Posting messages like these from the mail bag will keep the fire going, instead of putting it out.
You said in your original post, Erick:
“We must be willing to draw a line in the sand and stand against fatuous nonsense that opens up the right to attacks by a left-leaning media intent on embarrassing the good people who have developed through the tea party movement a renewed sense of civic involvement.”
Making further sport of these correspondents seems like 1) trying to score 10 more touchdowns in a football game when the opposing team has already been disqualified, and 2) an attempt to gain favor with the very “left-leaning media” we all wisely distrust. Even if you publicly skewer every laughable character you can find, you will not be accepted by the liberal pundit class. It’s wasted energy and beneath you.
Onward and upward. Ignore further distractions in your inbox! RedState is taking the high road!
Your high road is too high
Christine (Diary) Saturday, February 13th at 7:19AM EDT (link)Let’s maybe try the middle road for awhile. I’m sick of being told we have to be better than the pigs in the mud puddles. I can stand on a kid’s stool and be six feet above their nonsense (and I’m not six feet tall).
We are allowed a breather every now and then, and a little fun. If the RON!!PAUL epidemic is any indication, the moderators are about to have their work cut out for them, as the birthers and truthers spam the diaries and comments with their nonsense, try to sneak it in with misleading titles, etc.
The line in the sand can be drawn on Monday. For now, the site admins are proving with these posts why their decision was the right one.
The primary process is FLAWED. Two states should not decide our candidate.
“I would be a poor Commander in Chief”
– Barack Obama, July 3 2008
A RedStater is advocating the middle road?
toughintn (Diary) Saturday, February 13th at 12:40PM EDT (link)Even in this situation, that’s anathema to conservative ideology.
If we’ve already defeated someone on the merits of the discussion, we can walk away with our gun smoking, so to speak. It’s immature and distracting to keep “proving” we won that battle.
Taking a weekend (and I’d guess it will spill beyond that time frame) to make fun of the disqualified actually seems like a liberal-type tactic to me; we don’t like the MSM’s snotty attitudes, and rightly so. We don’t appreciate their yuk-yuk “you’re not cool enough to be in our club” mentalities, and yet we are succumbing to that kind of childish overkill. We have better things to do, and very little time to do it. Again, onward and upward! We have ground to gain!
Do you have your ponytail pulled too tight?
janis (Diary) Saturday, February 13th at 12:50PM EDT (link)We have sworn to be nicer, kinder and more considerate of people who are posting here in good faith. We have decided as a community to be more on the side of asking the right questions to elicit answers that we can then challenge, explicate on, and maybe woo someone over to our side.
But this weekend, we get to kick the crap out of those who are showing up here in unreservedly bad faith. If you don’t approve, then go do something else while we handle the job with gusto. See you bright and early Monday morning with all the blood washed off our hands and our manners firmly in place.

Christine (Diary) Saturday, February 13th at 12:59PM EDT (link)The idea that conservative ideology includes some sort of promise that we’ll be nice to everyone, including those who hate us AND those who are bringing our whole ideology DOWN is pure nonsense.
We are fair and honest. We are the good guys…..but that doesn’t mean lie down and let the bus roll over us. We stand our ground, and that is exactly what is happening here.
The primary process is FLAWED. Two states should not decide our candidate.

toughintn (Diary) Saturday, February 13th at 2:24PM EDT (link)I’m all for that!
It’s so much more enjoyable to point out the absurdity of liberals like Obama, Biden, Pelosi, Reid (the list goes on) and Olbermann.
Especially Olbermann.
toughintn- Now that you have set the rules for Redstate
Scope (Diary) Saturday, February 13th at 1:11PM EDT (link)have you informed Erick that you are now taking over? These people need to be marginalized, and, ridicule is the best method.
I like this Hoover one best, as he damns his own argument
Vassar Bushmills (Diary) Saturday, February 13th at 8:45AM EDT (link)Actually, he wouldn’t qualify as a birfer anyway, just a curious citizen with very little vocabulary. Hell, I’d like to know those things, too…grades, etc, none of which goes to OB-1′s constitutional right to sit in that office.
Becareful, or some one will sue to force Redstate to appoint an arbitration board.
Cheers
Am I a "Birfer?" I don't think so, But....
fideist Saturday, February 13th at 12:37PM EDT (link)I don’t believe Obama was born outside the US, but I don’t know. I think he was born in Hawaii or his enemies would have found proof by now he wasn’t, but I don’t know. I’d like to know. Does that make me a “Birfer?”
One of the most important lessons I got out of my college education is that sometimes it is reasonable (literally) to withhold assent. Sometimes the reasonable thing to do is not take a position in a debate until you have all the facts. I don’t have all the facts (and the White House seems in no hurry to release them).
What bothers me is that the left says that qualifies me as a birfer — I must be willing to commit to the belief without all the facts. But that is just as unreasonable as saying Obama is not a citizen without any evidence!
Please don’t call me, and those like me a birfer, just because we say we don’t know. I am not saying one way or the other until I know more.
missing the point
randy streu (Diary) Saturday, February 13th at 1:17PM EDT (link)people who don’t know and who shut up about it BECAUSE they don’t know are fine… Nuttin’ wrong with it.
People who post diaries that SAY they don’t know are pointless and should be kicked in the head for wasting space.
People who CLAIM to know and make a big deal out of it are the birfers that we’re very happy to be getting rid of.
Make sense?

Re-Focus
stepsti Sunday, February 14th at 7:47AM EDT (link)We need to re-focus the “birther” movement to a discussion of the fact that citizenship should be a privilege, not a right. Why are we going to let people cross the border illegally, pop out a baby, and then have the key to the welfare state? Illegals can be a part of the discussion on health care-that is a major reason hospitals are going bankrupt, and the healthcare system is falling to pieces. Eliminate the free (i.e. taxpayer funded) treatment of illegals, and the lawsuits by John Edwards slimeballs, and the system will be in a good condition. If we do not deal with those two issues, we will never fix the system.
