Hoover actually has a valid point in that message, birth certificate aside, that the self-proclaimed Transparency President is actually the most secretive man we have seen in that office, on just about every front. And that is disturbing.

But then Hoover ruins his credibility by tossing in a number of childish and crude insults, plus a tell-tale back-handed defensive statement about Birfers.

As is all too common, real issues become secondary to out-of-control zeal.

Perhaps the resistance to disclosing the original long form birth certificate for our Dear Leader is that information on it may be disconcerting, like showing that his religion is Muslim

Making further sport of these correspondents seems like 1) trying to score 10 more touchdowns in a football game when the opposing team has already been disqualified, and 2) an attempt to gain favor with the very “left-leaning media” we all wisely distrust. Even if you publicly skewer every laughable character you can find, you will not be accepted by the liberal pundit class. It’s wasted energy and beneath you.

Actually, he wouldn’t qualify as a birfer anyway, just a curious citizen with very little vocabulary. Hell, I’d like to know those things, too…grades, etc, none of which goes to OB-1′s constitutional right to sit in that office.

I don’t believe Obama was born outside the US, but I don’t know. I think he was born in Hawaii or his enemies would have found proof by now he wasn’t, but I don’t know. I’d like to know. Does that make me a “Birfer?”

One of the most important lessons I got out of my college education is that sometimes it is reasonable (literally) to withhold assent. Sometimes the reasonable thing to do is not take a position in a debate until you have all the facts. I don’t have all the facts (and the White House seems in no hurry to release them).

What bothers me is that the left says that qualifies me as a birfer — I must be willing to commit to the belief without all the facts. But that is just as unreasonable as saying Obama is not a citizen without any evidence!

Please don’t call me, and those like me a birfer, just because we say we don’t know. I am not saying one way or the other until I know more.

We need to re-focus the “birther” movement to a discussion of the fact that citizenship should be a privilege, not a right. Why are we going to let people cross the border illegally, pop out a baby, and then have the key to the welfare state? Illegals can be a part of the discussion on health care-that is a major reason hospitals are going bankrupt, and the healthcare system is falling to pieces. Eliminate the free (i.e. taxpayer funded) treatment of illegals, and the lawsuits by John Edwards slimeballs, and the system will be in a good condition. If we do not deal with those two issues, we will never fix the system.
