The GOP Leaders Speak

John Boehner and Mitch McConnell have an op-ed in the Wall Street Journal. They are making the case that Obamacare will raise costs and add more bureaucracy.

It’s good closing sell to the American people on the issue.

f there’s one thing the American people didn’t want, it was for us to make health care more bureaucratic and expensive. The Obama administration’s own scorekeeper at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services says overall health spending will go up by more than $200 billion under the Democrats’ bill. The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office (CBO) also says federal health spending will rise.

The CBO also says health insurance premiums for millions of families across the country will go up by as much as 13% as a result of all the new government mandates contained in this bill—and continue to rise at the current unsustainable rate for nearly everyone else. And it’s all going add to the mountain of debt we are already piling onto our kids and grandkids.

…the public doesn’t want it and it’s unconstitutional”

The GOP needs to take the gloves off and get angry. Their rhetoric is like that from the UN toward Iran, “if you keep up your bad behavior gosh darn it we’re going to issue another resolution!”

They need to step it up and start issuing threats about to Obama and the Dens regarding the remainder of Obama’s term and what the GOP will do after 2010. Additionally they should be asking the Dems “So, you passed this crap with a bare majority through abuse of the rules. What’s to keep us from doing the same to repeal it, privatize Social Security, and otherwise advance OUR agenda?”

And someone please tell the entire GOP caucus, including Grahamnesty, to STOP working with the Dems. No more Mr. Nice Guy. This is war.

It’s a lie, it’s a lie, yes, we know it isn’t true, but we’ve been down to Deby, sir, and we have seen it, too.

make Obama give an example of someplace where universal/government controlled care has worked?

Germany – hemorrhaging doctors due to low pay (they’re coming to the US)

UK – quality of care nosediving, higher cancer rates, doctor shortage

Canada – waiting lists, higher cancer rates, “unsustainable” system according to president of the Canadian Medical Association

France – The Left always likes to use France as a role model, but the taxpayer funded state health insurer is money-losing and getting worse every year. And most attempts to reduce costs gets stomped by the electorate. They’re hooked on “everything free all the time, forever”

Maine – had it’s version since 2003, costs skyrocketed, enrollment had to be capped, taxes went up, had to be subsidized by the federal government

Massachussetts – had it’s version of Obamacare since 2006, costs skyrocketed, infusion of cash from federal government

    Tennessee – yep

make them provide just one success story

    just one

Last year a group of us had to expose their willingness to let ObamaCare pass with token resistance in an effort to achieve electoral gains. Now the same thing has occurred. Rather than shut down the Senate on all legislation starting last week, its back to token resistance:

    http://www.thesubstratum.com/general-politics/demint-and-the-establishment-gop-a-tale-of-spine-vs-spineless/

Now what is the Senate GOP solution? To send a letter to Harry Reid signed by 41 Senators saying were going to be really, really hard to deal with during reconciliation. Sound familiar? It’s a play taken right out of the UN handbook. North Korea – send a letter telling them how very, very angry everyone is with them. Iran – same thing. Iraq – same thing. Letters, letters, letters. And they have a history of working so well. If this is how we strategize, it’s no wonder we are where we are today. This bill should have been dead a long, long time ago.

As can be seen in the link above. Senators took time out of their very busy letter writing schedule to attack the one man who wanted to do the right thing – Senator DeMint.

If this crap passes, there is enough blame to go around to cover both parties in blanket of lies, egos, and self-serving agendas. Just imagine if the obstruction had started earlier last year as opposed to after the details in the link forced starch into the GOP spines. We would not even be here.

Imagine if the GOP in the House had voted present on Stupak or even no. We would be here. Strategic voting was replaced by political expediency. So for anyone who believes the federal government is capable of stopping this monstrosity, restoring fiscal sanity, rolling back entitlement programs to save us from certain economic ruin, I’m all ears. Maybe I’m missing something.

It’s more than two – it’s 40 words. Read the link and come face to face with real betrayal. It is sickening to read.

    Not 40 words.

I have read they have had a public health government run system for many years, but I don’t know anything about it? How does it work? Has it been successful and cost effective? Just asking?

    It always ends in failure.

I predict the American death rates will “necessarily skyrocket” as a result of ObamaCare.

The socialists could care less about life. As evidenced by their unhuman policies & attitudes.

Nearly One-Third of Doctors Could Leave Medicine if Health-Care Reform Bill Passes

Prepare for a future that British & Canadian citizens endure everyday.

At least I will have a future producing documentary films about what happened to the greatest health system on the planet. I am sure plenty of out of work doctors would be capable crew members.
