Bob Bennett Must Go: Urging Supporters to Lie

This is interesting. The Club For Growth sent out a press release that gives some on the ground scoop out of Utah not too flattering to Bob Bennett.

As you know, Utah is having its caucuses next week. People will be picked as delegates to go to the State Convention. At the convention, if Bennett cannot get 60% of the delegates to support him, he will either be defeated at the convention or be forced into a runoff.

According to the Club for Growth, Bennett’s campaign is allegedly encouraging its supporters to show up at the caucuses and lie as best they can to become delegates to the convention.

Right now there is a heavy anti-Bennett bias even within the official Utah Republican Party. Having Bennett’s supporters come in and claim to be wholly undecided or hostile to Bennett could help send his brigade to the convention to protect him.

Desperate men do desperate things.

    He’d fit right in – his tactics remind me a great deal of what CNN did in coordination with the DEMs during the democrat and republican primaries – they planted shill questioners who were left-wing activists and democratic party officials and represented them as being “undecided voters”. They did this for both the Dem AND GOP primary debates. Now Bennett wants to stack the vote in his favor by having his partisans lie? He needs to find a place where his talent for subterfuge will be truly appreciated – at the Clinton News Network or the DNC.

    I will be attending mine next week and will make certain that ousting Bennett is part of the discussion. I will only vote for delegates who intend to vote for Mike Lee (because he is the strongest opponent) or anyone other than Bennett at the convention.

    Bennett has lectured me and betrayed conservative principles for the last time. He has more often than not been part of the problem. His days in Congress are numbered.

    People will learn and not stand for these types of tactics. Honesty and integrity will draw people to the right candidate.

    I believe Mike Lee is that candidate, and I believe he will defeat Bennett, and I think he’ll do it at the convention.
