ACORN Playing Rebranding Game

Matthew Vadum has today’s top story at Human Events.

The radical advocacy group ACORN is playing the biggest April Fool’s joke of all time on the American people.

That’s because the leftist group announced plans to shut down its national operations on April 1 — of all days in the year.

Multiple sources within ACORN have already confirmed to me that the exercise is a hoax. ACORN intends to keep a low profile and then re-emerge in a year or two under a new name, they say.

What could be better then paying thousands of unwashed, illiterate bums out of taxpayers money to campaign for you. Plus they’re always there as a modern day, non German, SA for intimidation, provoking, even attacking Tea Party members. This doesn’t bother the media left a bit.
We are going to see a lot more of these low lifes in the next couple of years.

Or am I thinking of their nearly-joined-at-the-hip relationship with Obama’s “community organizations?”

and with the 2010 elections coming up, and, ACORN now having a bad reputation, I think this is a ploy to make the voters think they will not be involved in election fraud. They will, and, unfortunately we won’t know exactly who they are, by name anyway.

…investigate them as an organized crime syndicate when we re-take congress next year?

Just in time for the 2012 Presidential elections.

    >>”Can we investigate them as an organized crime syndicate when we re-take congress next year?”

RICO investigations / prosecutions sound like a good start.

If Wax-head can call CEOs in front of his committee for dutirfully reporting to stockholders that the health-care-deform bill would cause earnings issues, then GOP committees can launch investigations into ACORN.

    And I hope they do.

but we won’t. We will be busy “reaching across the aisle”. I don’t wish to sound too cynical but I doubt the testicular fortitude is there.
The first leftist who cries racism will have the GOP scampering for the fire escapes.
It’s been that way for eighty years, it’s not changing now.
    But one can hope.

Leave it to liberal booksmart lawyer wordsmith types. They look for meaningless technical changes and wordsmithing, thinking that makes a big difference in the real world.

Maybe, but it actually sounds like they are playing the proverbial shell game and are using this time to reorganize and rename their individual regional offices so that they are harder to track. Also, didn’t they just get re-funded? How do you accept funds if you’ve shut down?

Rathke has already changed the name as he has done multiple times before. The new alias for the parent organization is called “Community Organizations International, COI.” [or de-COI]

In New York, they also changed to their new alias, “New York Communities for Change.”

ACORN in New Orleans and Chicago are probably NOT changing their names given they can probably count on continued support from the Democratic Socialist party of the new USSA.

Besides, the Democratic Socialist Party of the USSA is far more concerned about attacking and taking over legitimate business than it is about cracking down on organizations that can assist them with Dem voter fraud at the polls.

the appropriate federal appointee in charge of their money pots. Bust them up on all the federal regs you know that aren’t abiding by. It would be quicker than a RICO investigation. Probably more damaging too.

We know who they are. No place to run, no place to hide.
    Cordially

…not under a different name but under no-name.

    Still, we’ll be there,

ACORN will “cordially” go away. I was not clear with my post. They will still be around in November 2010, just with a whole bunch of different names. They have operated under many different names in the past. I doubt they will adopt the American Working Families Party, but, you never know, it does have a nice redistribution sound to it.
