EDITOR OF REDSTATE

On the Radio at 6:00 a.m.

From 6:00 am ET to 9:00 am ET, I’ll be on the radio.

Yesterday, I spent a good bit of time imploring people to fill out their census form, but then addressed this article in the Weekly Standard about the American Community Survey. ACS Surveyors are getting belligerent and have showed up on people’s doorsteps to harass them and threaten jail. I said if some ACS person showed up on my doorstep to try to arrest me for not wanting to tell the government how often I flush my toilet I’d get out my wife’s shotgun and get them off my property.

Naturally the left is out today saying I was on the air advocating killing census workers.

So tune in today and see what else they’ll misconstrue. Oh, and we’ll have special music for Good Friday.

You can listen to me live every day by clicking here or going to http://www.wmac-am.com/.

The call in number is 478-742-0940.

I’ve been awake since 6 am Monday morning, and I’m feeling punchy :) Let’s do this!

I kid! I kid! Congrats, fearless leader :)

  • Amy Miller

What was the name of our friend on the city council? Eileen?

I do hope she’s listening right now. Perhaps we can persuade her to call in?

    Blood Gulch Blues” by Trocadero

I think the lyrics are prefect for a political show. I linked to their contact page because their main page has a video that auto-plays.

I got to hear the last hour of your show. Looking forward to listening in tomorrow.

…but, you know, 6AM and a pig’s tail have something in common. They’re both ‘twirly. :)

Even still, God bless, and best of luck on the new endeavor, however long it lasts.

Keep up the good work, but don’t overdo it.
Too bad, I’d have to get up at 2 AM to listen…

I wonder how I can get them to glom onto the signal and carry you instead. I’m not a real fan of Man-Cow anyway.

    Hey Erick,
I called in to your show this morning to chat with you about the health care–as a citizen and because I have some radio experience and you were asking for callers. I really wasn’t interested in calling for an interview, I just wanted to call about the health care bill because it affects me. I wasn’t really calling as a candidate for an interview–I get lots of those and I’m going to win this election. I merely wanted to talk to you as a citizen who is concerned about health care. I’m an American first, a Conservative second, a Republican third and a politician because I won a election, not a big deal. I was doing it for you, not me because I want your show to be a success. We need Conservative radio so that we can counteract the liberals who are destroying our country. I’m a Southern girl, I lived in Georgia for a decade and went to college there too. I keep my phone number listed so that my constituents can call me if they need help, which is a promise I’ve kept and will continue to keep. A radio show in Georgia doesn’t really help me get elected, but it might help your ratings and get more listeners converted to Conservatives and make people aware of the issues. I’m not most politicians and that’s why I called–if I’d known you were going to view my call as self-serving, I wouldn’t have wasted my time or yours because that’s not what I’m about. I’m sorry that there are so many self-serving politicians in the world that you think that we are all the same. All the best of luck with your show Erick. As a long-time Georgia resident, I love the Peach state and hope that you help get the word out to the ignorant folks like Socks. Good Luck and God Bless!

I wasn’t listening, but from the tone of your comment I just have to ask –

If you were calling not as a candidate, but as an American concerned about healthcare…did you identify yourself only as “Teri” when you called, or as “Teri Davis Newman, candidate for IL-12″?

  • usa2day

There is national movement underway to hang upside down (distress position) the American flag one has in front of one?s home, office, etc., until BO is out of office to show the distress, suffering, pain and agony he is causing our nation.
Congratulations & Best of Luck with show.

    I’ll call in.
    I already have my question.
I listened a little today and yesterday.
    You sound good.

  • JadedByPolitics

I was so nervous and I am ALWAYS nervous when I get on the radio and I make a jerk out of myself ALWAYS :)

  • JadedByPolitics

call into the show Redstater’s and chat with the guy who keeps US informed on a daily basis and FIGHTS for WE The People!

  • oblio

it is a bit surrealistic hearing the voice of a RS contributor while commuting.

  • fpete13527

You did not sound nervous as your communication was clear

  • Hugh

I live in Macon also. Listen to Erick whenever is is on radio. Wish his stent would become permanent. Guess that would make him one busy “puppy dog” Thanks again for your call. It went very well.

  • fpete13527

Thanks for sharing the things about your family and Good Friday.

I know the Macon legislation you are working on will be positively resolved next Monday and Tuesday

  • Section9

Remember, Eric, keep uppermost in your mind, “WWRD”?

    “What Would Rush Do?”

    (snicker)

    Best of luck…

  • Hugh

    Stent should be Stint.

  • JadedByPolitics

its not the talking part that bothers me its the “scattered” thoughts because in my head I know what I want to say but it gets jumbled coming out of my mouth :) My whole thing was really Obama is KILLING this Country with his divinding US by race and class and its sad to this American who recognizes what he is doing ):

  • oblio

Erick, what if the ‘locals’ pledge to bring you, CT et. al. coffee and Krispy Cremes at O’Dark Thirty

  • oblio

With all respect to Mr. Krok, I much prefer Erick’s bumper crop (sorry, couldn’t resist) to the previous headbanging fare.

  • http://www.erickerickson.org Erick Erickson

    You were terrific!

  • JadedByPolitics

    ….

  • http://www.erickerickson.org Erick Erickson

RedState + CNN + City Council + Family is packed already. Adding morning radio would probably be too much to bear.

  • eburke

    going to need stents…in multiples.

Problem is, with ObamaCare, there won’t be any doctor’s left to put ‘em in.

  • oblio

    I’ll buy :)

  • http://pocketchangeproductions.net/ anotherindyfilmguy

keep records of every lie and then when the pattern should be obvious to the dimmest of jurors put them out of business with libel and/or slander lawsuits…

lawfare, not just for the left anymore…

  • Hugh

is sleep. How important is that? You can sleep when you get older like I’m doing.

  • Hugh

stents. Had heart surgery in 2008. If I need surgery again in the next 15 years or so my government may decide that the “cost benefit ratio” is too great. I still maintain employed status so I don’t have to go on Medicare. That may change under “IT”. If you remember the movie “IT” then you will understand why I call the “bill” “IT”.
Question of the day. I think stents are taxed under “IT”. How does adding tax cost to stents save money?”

  • eburke
  • pac_NY

I had a chance to listen, and I can’t add more to the comments already made here which is that I also thought you were terrific.

As well, I find it always uplifting to hear another Christian speak of their faith, and letting the Lord lead us where He deems we ought to be.

I don’t know how you do it all, but I pray God continues to bless you for all that you are doing in all your efforts to help fight the good fight for this great nation.

Enjoy a Happy Easter, to you and your family.

  • Wing Zero

    Erick,

You truly did a great job on the radio today. I was really surprised just how well you carried the show.

When are you guest-hosting for Limbaugh? (Yes. You did that well!)

I’m jealous of the ability you have not only to write, but to carry a radio program by yourself.

You should redistribute your talent’s to me.

  • http://www.erickerickson.org Erick Erickson

    Thank you.
