When Karl Rove landed at the White House in 2001 as President Bush’s all-things strategist, an enemy was waiting. 

Leftist Henry Waxman, who represents ultra-liberal Malibu and Beverly Hills, pounced on the first bit of negative news: that Rove met with Intel officers before his ongoing stock divestitures were completed.

    Waxman, the only paperwork I would forward to his subcommittee is the copy of the SEC filings requirement.

    On the advise if my counsel:
    “No, Mr. Waxman.”
    “Mr. Waxman, do you have a court issued warrant for my private business material?”
    “My answer Mr. Waxman, is that I am following the law.”
    “Mr. Waxman, those are matters of private business.”
