Charlie Crist’s Fan

There is just something a bit creepy about this. I’ve heard stories of Charlie Crist’s fan from two different Governors, both of whom swore me to secrecy until news of his fan was made public elsewhere. I don’t know how much of a secret it actually is, but both of these Governors were a bit dumbstruck by it.

In fact, one told me that at a joint press conference the Crist folks wanted to get into the press room early to make sure the fan was in position to take care of Charlie. This particular Governor thought it strange. The other Governor said Charlie is just a prima donna.

In any event, the fan story is out in the open now. You be the judge. He travels with his fan everywhere.

In other news, Charlie Crist’s “Republican” advisors are urging him to run as an independent. The Wall Street Journal has the details.

Hounded by conservative activists as too liberal, Florida Gov. Charlie Crist is being advised by some close supporters to abandon his lagging Republican primary bid for a U.S. Senate seat and run instead as an independent.

Mr. Crist’s campaign issued a statement last week saying the governor would run in the Republican primary and describing the talk of an independent bid as “baseless rumors.”

It’s worse than I thought. He doesn’t just need a cheering section, but a fawning section as well. I wonder if he’s ever considered the bladeless version? http://www.dyson.com/fans/

This may very well be Charlie Crist’s only fan in the whole world.

I speak in public a lot and I bring a little fan with me as well. I’m very hot blooded and just a small amount of air passing over me helps me relax. In speaking engagements, despite the benefit of air-conditioning, it is often hot with all the lights and/or bodies and even though I speak often it is still something that makes me nervous, hence increasing my propensity to get sweaty and clammy. A fan can be a great comfort.

I even get there early and make sure I can position the fan so it will not be a distraction to the listeners.

This is no big deal. There is enough about Crist to make my skin crawl this is a non-issue

    (This is a serious question.)

That question out of the way, I remember reading about this fan a year or so ago. Amazing invention.

And I helped pay for them! :) When you read this story, also see the other expenses Crist racked up on his “trade mission” (European Vacation). It was special interests, businessmen, and lobbyists.

“He flew first class for about $8,000 round trip, courtesy of a Miami travel agency. He ran up room service and minibar tabs of more than $1,300. And he spent $320 on electric fans to keep him cool while giving speeches.”

He just cant seem to keep his cool, or decide on SB6, or decide to switch parties, or to change his socks.

Then again, he will probably always have his 11 year old loafers to pound the pavement looking for a new job….

Obama never leaving home without his teleprompter?
Ok, I stole that from a Youtube comment but I think it’s funny.

Maybe Charlie’s fan should meet Obama’s teleprompter. Could start a little Swiffer romance.

So Charlie Crist has a fan. What’s his name?

  • danasdaddy

Becker just tagged him a good one.

he just won’t go away, and that scares the hell out of me. The progressives steadily pushing toward Statism, and the Grand OLD Party stumbling arm in arm toward the middle ground are very strong forces, but the progressives are winning from behind closed doors while the GOP pat each other on the back. I am doing what I can fromTexas for Marco Rubio, but I have this foreboding that we are going to be Scozzafavaed by a bunch of old fools standing behind Charlie and his fan.

Most Floridians know by now that he probably needs one (or two) at this point in the Senatorial race. I’m sure that when trailing Marco Rubio by double digits he certainly must work up a devil of a sweat! I wonder how many fans he’ll need in November?

  • chabsentia

I am a Floriduan and I tild you the other day that Crist would veto the Bill by our Stare Legislature that would take away Tenure from Teachers and grade their preformance on the success of the students, He vetoed it today because he wants the vote of theTeachers unions,. He also wants to run as an Independent to try and keep Rubio from winning.

Just full of hot air I guess.
