    Seems to me Bill Russell ran a very good race against Murtha last cycle and continues to have strong support. Much of Burns’ money has been loaned to the campaign by himself, but Russell seems to have raised much more cash than Burns and the Democrat over the last month – mostly by direct mail.

    I have supported Russell in the past would truly like to hear the opinion on why Burns over Russell.

    This is an incredible opportunity for us. The election is May 18, and folks in PA 12 can vote for him not once but twice!! Its a special election to fill out Murtha’s term and its the primary for the fall election. So vote twice. Polls are out there but few and far between since its a special seat, some go a few percent up to burns, some a few percent in Critz’s favor. And Russell is pushing himself as a write in candidate which could pull away a a few percentage points from Burns. As jwebb points out Russell is still well liked. We can’t afford to lose any points this late in the game.

    Plus–for some silly reason. the dem CRITZ has just come out telling everyone he is against the healthcare bill (its very unpopular in that district and he knows it).

    BTW, May 22nd- voters in Obama district (hawaii 01) will vote in a special election. And again we have a great opportunity for a pickup with Charles Djou. The race is close and Djou can walk in between the two dems in this race.

    Please don’t wait till November… get the word out and any money you can squeeze from your kids piggy bank for these two elections coming in one month,

    With Patterson corruptly taking NY-29 out of play, PA-12 and HI-02 will likely be the only substantive special House elections this year.

    If the GOP wins them both, it will portend very bad things from the Dems in November (especially if the margins of the GOP wins are unexpectedly large…).

    please, double check for me, I’ve been writing Hawaii -01. Tell me you mean Djou hawaii 01 . With Case and Hanabusa? Or does hawaii 02 have a race.. too? Cuz if they have a race also, ..I’ve been lax in my e-blast and letters to the editors.

    (I swear I got djou in HI-01)
