Jim DeMint Endorses Marlin Stutzman

The beat goes on folks.

Jim DeMint is coming out for Marlin Stutzman. This comes on the heels of Dave Keene of the American Conservative Union and Mark Levin. Conservatives are rallying to the Indiana state senator.

Here’s the thing: this endorsement puts Jim DeMint out on a limb and really at odds with his colleagues in the U.S. Senate Republican Conference, particularly coming on the heels of his support for Ken Buck in Colorado.

Helping get Marlin Stutzman elected now has a lot to do with sticking up for Jim DeMint. He is going to bat for real conservatives. His record proves it. We need to stand up with Jim DeMint.

Go Marlin.

CONSIDER GIVING THROUGH THE SENATE CONSERVATIVES FUND WEBSITE SO JIM DEMINT KNOWS YOU SUPPORT HIM IN THIS.

is the highest honor and best endorsement out there.

Any chance DeMint can take over for McConnell. He and the new crop of conservatives in Washington will turn the party into a major winner, and will give the Republicans new respect.

I love IN ( my home state). I’ll try to get family there to vote Stutzman, but Mom is a longtime Republican vote whatever the party endorses type.

I promised myself NO more contributions for the rest of the month. I spent way too much trying to fight healthcare. I got Jim DeMint’s email this am, and contributed. I must have been when of the first few, because before I gave they only had $81.

Peanut butter sandwiches are yummy! I am looking forward to more of them..

Give $20 and tell 20 friends.
That’s what he needs from you NOW!
    Go Marlin!

    Freedom demands a relentless fight.

  • E Pluribus Unum

He needs to just walk over and punch John Cornyn in the gut, and take over the NRSC. Just grab it.

    That there is a man!

  • Woo_girl

Why is DeMints name never mentioned in connection with running for president?

And I’ll be doing that 20 thing!

  • Richard Mullins

because I’m more convinced that the NRSC as an organization does what it wants and it will influence who runs it. If Jim DeMint runs it, he’ll most likely end up the same way. I consider the NRSC to be a cancer to anyone that runs it and anyone that excepts it’s money.

Whenever freedom loving people relax and let down their guard, statists and demigods and tyrants arise to fill the vacuum.

Like you, I felt tapped out by the health care vote donations. But I bellied up and put down a small donation for Stutzman and hope to follow up later with another donation.

This is what we have to do: BY-PASS the Republican leadership and go straight to the Good Guys and Gals’ websites to help them directly with our donations.

An added plus: Every donated dollar goes further.

“Why is DeMints name never mentioned in connection with running for president?”

Because Michael Steele is very similar to John Cornyn. Neither is a conservative.
I mention Senator DeMint as a possible Presidential candidate in almost every political conversation or internet posting I make.

    DeMint for President!!!

  • conservvoter

    of a contribution :)

  • Woo_girl

I’m going to start doing the same!

  • txgho1911

in all of your social and semisocial gatherings.
    1. He has not spent a decade in DC.
    2. He can be part of the conservative refresh of the GOP in DC.

  • JamesSmith130

I don’t question his conservatism, I question his electability. This guy has done a lot of things (his lobbyist activities) which give the Dims ads that write themselves in a non-ideological manner. And with the Dims nominating at least a fake moderate/conservative in Ellsworth, I fear that having Coats as an opponent might give him enough of a crack to put together a campaign that squeaks him through.

I would have little problem with Coats as a senator, but I think Stutzman has a much better chance of getting there.

  • diamonddave

bill parson here in nevada needs the same support to be the candidate to run against harry reid. he is the only true conservative, the only constitutional candidate endorsed and vetted by icaucus and the onlyb non-washington, non-establishment, non-politician in the gop primary race. so how about putting your money and support where your mouths are?

  • E Pluribus Unum

But I say “new boss, new rules”.

  • E Pluribus Unum

Not that I’m anybody though, really……

  • http://www.hakubi.us/ Neil Stevens

I can’t back a Senator running for President. It doesn’t work. Not only are the skills needed to legislate different from those needed to execute the laws, but the voters appear to pick up on it and not elect them in the first place.

The only reason a Senator won in 2008 is because both parties were foolish enough to nominate one.

  • Richard Mullins

I think he wants to go around it and not run it. The “New Boss,New Rules” would only last a little while. Jim DeMint knows what place does to Senator run it, they grow a third head and can’t come out to be seen. Ok, that not tue, but I’m sure it rubs off on some people. In the back of my head, “What the NRSC be like if Jim DeMint ran it”? The response, wasn’t all that good.

  • Richard Mullins

and I don’t want to see a good guy go bad.

  • OccamsRazor

Of course Fred Thompson over analyzed that concept, in hindsight, as well.

  • OccamsRazor

    I pose a simple question:

Is it possible to have a Conservative in sheep’s clothing?

  • john676

I wonder, do you all know that there are parts of the Constitution that Marlin does not agree with? He thinks that it is okay for the Fed Government to own State land! He said it is okay so that he and his family can visit the parks.
I don’t know about you, but I have been to a lot of beautiful State Parks!
I thougtht we wanted the Fed. Government OUT of our way, NOT get in the way!
Richar Behney wants the Fed out of our business! So, a vot for Marlin is a vote to keep the Fed’s in our business!
    NOT ME!
I want RICHARD BEHNEY FOR US SENATE!
TO KEEP THE FED OUT OF OUR WAY!
You would think a site like this would do more checking!

  • E Pluribus Unum

The “senators would not make good executives” is true if they never ran anything. DeMint’s actions of late show natural leadership, a can-do attitude, and they show that he gets stuff done.

His actions in the Senate, and in fundraising, show him to be “not from the establishment GOP crowd”. He’s very much a real, bona fide conservative-first, GOP-second guy. He speaks his mind, and he tilts against some pretty damned big windmills,

Back whoever you like. I am 100% in the DeMint camp.

  • Pizza_God

What is wrong with John Hostettler.

As of right now, unless someone can convince me otherwise, I support John Hostettler.

He is a true Conservative that will stand by his conservative values. (He is not a “yes man”)

In another thread I provide examples and links.

I looked back at your previous comment and was not surprised to see-

“He voted against authorizing use of Armed forces in Iraq.”

Just a day or so ago, he was endorsed by Ron Paul.

He would not gain Paul’s endorsement unless he agrees with Paul’s foreign policy/national security positions.

  • sccrenny

I think Senator DeMint is doing the right thing for right now. A strong leader with a weak following cannot accomplish what needs to be done. If he can manage to build a conservative Republican Congress (as he is working diligently and effectively to do right now) then he can turn his attention to a run for the Presidency.

And besides, no sense in providing a pop-up target for RINO’s and liberals this early in the game.

  • Pizza_God

Ron Paul has endorsed several “Pro-War” republicans as long as they agree with him on Fiscal Issues. This includes my Congressman Kenny Marchant.

Ron Paul will not endorse someone running against a sitting Republican either. (why he would not endorse Debra Medina against Rick Perry in the Gov Race this year)

There are many followers of Ron Paul that don’t like or understand this. (and apparently many Republicans that don’t think Ron Paul is a Republican)

  • Pizza_God

3 more reasons to support Hostettler.

he was right on Iraq. (I wish I was at the time, I changed after finding out the facts, I was hoodwinked and unlike most Republican, will admit it)

Trade agreements are usually “Managed Trade” agreements, meaning they help some specific companies over others. NAFTA is a GREAT example of this.

  • arc_ut

Jim DeMint didn’t help Mike Lee for Utah.

    1. By the time it was announced, most delegates had already voted for Round 3. Bob Bennett was already eliminated.

    2. The 1st comment I heard was “the guy from South Carolina where EnergySolutions is bringing Depleted Uranium waste to Utah and the person that has Club for Growth as their biggest supporter?

    3. Mike Lee almost got eliminated as well. Bridgewater got 57% of the 3rd round vote. 60% and Lee would be out.

It isn’t that Jim DeMint isn’t a good senator, it was that the endorsement didn’t help Mike Lee at the convention.

  • Aaron Gardner

But it’s nice to see an Eagar shill found a job with Bridgewater.

The DeMint endorsement was for the primary more so than the convention.
