EDITOR OF REDSTATE

Bill Clinton, Chris Matthews and others compare Tea Partiers to Oklahoma City Bomber.

Lynn Woolley has the top story at Human Events today.

Democrats – terrified of the Tea Party movement – are coming out of the woodwork to warn about the so-called dangerous rhetoric of the right.  There are just two problems here.  No. 1, the 1st Amendment protects political speech whether anybody likes it or not.  No. 2, the hypocrisy of the leftist political class is mind-boggling.

In 2003, when the left was going after President Bush with everything it had – remember “Bush lied and people died?” – it fell to Hillary Clinton to defend political speech.  She said, “I am sick and tired of people who say that if you debate and you disagree with this administration, somehow you’re not patriotic.”  She went on to say that dissent is perfectly proper no matter what administration is in power.

Well, that was THAT Clinton and that was then.

When TEA Party members gather together and say, “Kill the Bill,” or “Read the Bill,” or “No more taxes,” or “Abide by the Constitution,” the Lunatic Left goes into a frenzy. Then those frenzied but otherwise upright, law-abiding Democrats physically attack and beat up people — from St. Louis to New Orleans, from NY to California, and all points in between — creating an atmosphere of intimidation and violence.

Obviously, no sane and rational person would really want to bite off another person’s finger, or stomp on a non-threatening young man just because he’s passing out ‘Don’t tread on me’ flags while Black, or beat to a pulp a young couple for attending a Republican conference. That just doesn’t make sense.

Ergo, the Left must be driven to their violent acting out, by the “wild rhetoric” about Constitutional issues by TEA Party activists. Do ya think that’s what Clinton and Matthews, et al, are really trying to say?

We must be really effective to have them attack us like this……. All they are doing is making us stronger and stronger……..

I’ll tell you that veteran Bill Clinton watchers are not so sure that he is going after the Tea Party protesters. This is the same Bill Clinton who proclaimed that Obama would enjoy an immediate 10% polling bump the day health care was passed. Bill Clinton is not without experience guaging polls or judging the political mood of the country. He knew there wasn’t going to be a sudden turnaround in public opinion about the health care bill. So, we should probably hold off a bit in trying to nail down what the ol’ dawg is up to. He has not exactly been front-center as cheerleader in chief for the Obama administration. More accurately, he’s kind of given it the bare minimum.

At the 37-second mark of this video, President Obama thinks Tea Party members who attended April 14, Tax Day rallies, should give him a “thank you.”

The Oklahoma City bombing was tied to Waco (albeit in the unhinged mind of McVeigh), and the Waco buck stops at the Clinton desk via his AG at the time, Janet Reno. Or so we all thought at the time.

But according to Dick Morris, Clinton expressed an intention to replace Janet Reno, and Reno threatened to ‘tell the truth about Waco’ if he did not keep her in the AG post. If that’s true, the inference is that Reno executed an order from the CIC, as opposed to issuing the order on her own.

In either event, Clinton tried in 1995 to put the McVeigh onus on Rush Limbaugh and talk radio. It was a non-starter then, just as it is now.

reality by their “just saying so” anymore… or not and let them keep it up and help themselves to the dustbin of history that much sooner.
