Marlin Stutzman Wins Another One

Across Indiana, Marlin Stutzman keeps winning straw poll votes among primary voters. The odds are that when the next polling comes out today or tomorrow, Marlin Stutzman is not going to be in first place. Dan Coats will.

That is understandable. Coats has very high name recognition, having been elected repeatedly in the 80′s and 90′s.

The trouble for Coats, however, is that momentum is clearly with Marlin Stutzman who has more cash than Coats right now and is up on TV a lot more than Coats.

Marlin Stutzman can win if we help.

20/20 vision will get Stutzman on top!
Give a little and tell alot!

    Stutzman v Ellsworth in 2010
    Hostettler v Lugar in 2012

A POSITIVE story on Stutzman instead of a negative one on Coats. That’s what I like to see!

    Stutzman 2010!

Marlin is gaining grass roots support across Indiana and across the country. It’s a venue whose numbers are unpredictable until election day. Marlin Stutzman has all the qualities of a strong faith, strong families, and their protected fredoms. Yep, I’d like a guy like that in the senate.

How do weake up the ground? I have two votes for Stutzman. Where are the tea parties?

Stutzman seems like a decent candidate to me even though I’m leaning towards Hostettler. I found out on another blog that Stutzman supported a tax increase on IN businesses as a state senator and that dampened my original overly-positive view of him. For me, I’m going with Hostettler for 2010 and maybe Stutzman in 2012, assuming he doesn’t support any other tax increases up til then.

Between Hostettler and Stutzman in 2010 – who best takes on Ellsworth?
Unfortunately, that race is not as strong for Hostettler given the history between them.

Between Hostettler and Stutzman in 2012 – who is the best personality and background to take on Lugar? The stronger candidate is Hostettler for that race.

    So, let’s get both.

We can end up with Stutzman & Hostettler or get stuck with Coats & Lugar.

Something from Survey USA. No numbers as poll results have not been published. States that Coats is behind Stutzman and Hostettler.

That’d be hilarious! I hope AWB is right that Bayh is about to announce, but I seriously doubt it. I also seriously doubt those poll numbers, but we’ll see what happens on May 4th.

Stutzman going to end up giving Coats the nod. Coats won’t get 50%.
But with the conservative vote so split – he is going to win. Hostettler was the guy who could have beat Coats but its seems pretty clear conservatives are heading toward blowing this race.

Hostettler was running as good or better than Coats in the general election.
He had enough name ID to have a chance. Barring a sudden shift in the last fews – Coats in getting the win.

And Coats just loaned himself more than all his opponents have raised so far.
So Stutzman is not going to be on the air more than Coats.

If we let the vote split, you could be right. Byt we need to push stuzman and ANYBODY over lugar. That is one aisle crossing person right there who I am sure has already been embalmed. He sure looks it and strongly represents the entrenched in DC.

Reading your posts on the Indiana Senate race, you seem to be characterizing it as a race between the establishment candidate (Coats) and the insurgent candidate (Stutzman).

But it’s probably more likely that Stutzman is in 3rd place — behind not only Coats, but John Hostettler.

So, I can appreciate your jostling Rob Jesmer for a bad strategy. And I can even more appreciate you not wanting to put Dan Coats back in the Senate (I’m supporting Stutzman).

But, let’s face it: the “insurgent” vote is split….and it’s probably too late to do anything about it.

May 4th should be a birthday for the NRSC IF they have any smarts at all.

some of you on here will be kicking yourselves for not uniting behind one or the other candidates, Stutzman or Hostetler. Conservatives who can’t make up their minds have the potential to foul up 2010 BIG time, and snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. Stop trying to figure out how many angels dance on the head of a pin. It’s a great debate and dumbazz politics.

From what I have read, Hostetler was in a 3 way lead with Stutzman gaining ground. Coats is loosing ground and if it were not for putting his own money into the campaign recently, I would have said he may drop out.

Stutzman is gaining ground because of Red State and because of Jim DeMints endorsement. Even though I am disappointed in both of there choices, I still hope Hostetler pulls this one out.
