Barack Obama Speaks

Not since February of 2009 has Barack Obama spoken in depth about Iraq. Naturally, he waits for Rush Limbaugh to go on vacation to it — notice he always waits for Rush to go on vacation before addressing the nation from the Oval Office Beige Room.

Here’s our traditional Cover-It-Live box. Have at it.

My sense of this speech was that Obama attempted to raise his profile as president by wrapping himself in the cloak of the military. I guess it’s worth a try, given his decreasing popularity, but, you have to figure that this will really piss off his base.

MAOBama has little to no knowledge, and little to no interest of anything connected to successful military strategies in Iraq or Afghanistan.

And why would he? “Victory” is a word that strangles him. Defeating Islamo-fascists somehow is not quite proper for him, given his “America/Western civilization is guilty of crimes against Islam” rhetoric, with turning NASA into a revisionist History propaganda organ for lionizing fantasies about the scientific discoveries of Islam, whose more fanatical adherents want to freeze society in the 7th century.

Now that speech could go on forever! :)

“Is this dirtbag really using an opportunity to thank the troops as a campaign commercial for his failed economic policies? I think he is.

He talked quite a bit about himself and his campaign. I think he’s trying to remind people that he used to be Teh One, once.

Also, his teleprompter was too slow. He did a lot of eye scrolling back and forth, and pausing for the next sentence to appear. Either that or he reads that slowly naturally.

But the biggest issue is that he tried to pass off the country’s economic problems on- oh yes- the war in iraq. Because THAT must TOTALLY be the cause of it all.

And we have the November talking points.
