1. What Was Before Is Again
The New York Times ran an article over the weekend that the House of Representatives is still not in the hands of the GOP. A Newsweek survey came out with an oddity of a generic ballot answer. Gallup has been jumping all over the place.
Had I a show, I’d say “roll the tape.” Instead, you’ll have to settle for this.

2. Democrat Introduces Legislation to End Right-to-Work States
Back in June, we reported that California Congressman Brad Sherman (D) was circulating a letter to his fellow Democrats to introduce legislation to repeal “Right-to-Work” laws in 22 states. Now, with less than a month before the mid-term elections and five weeks before a lame-duck session in Congress, Sherman has introduced legislation to eliminate state Right to Work laws all across America.

3. New York Fights Scourge of Capital-ism
Opening a new front in the War on Error, New York City will soon spend an estimated 27 million dollars to get the city’s thousands of street signs to STOP YELLING AT YOU! In the name of readability the city will be moving from CAPS LOCK to Title Case on all street signs. There are over a quarter of a million signs to be replaced at a cost of $110 each.
According to the Federal Highway Administration, mixed-case signs are more readable; according to the city’s Transportation Commissioner, they’re also kinder and gentler.

4. Ami Bera (D CAND, CA-03) covering up sex offender tenants?
There are two parts to this: what is known, and what was reported.
It is known that the aforementioned Bera owned a transient hotel in California that had a registered sex offender (case involved a minor) living there in April of 2010. It is also known that living at the location in question would be effectively banned for sex offenders under the California Penal Code, as it is too close to both a playground and a high school. Lastly, it is known that the property was sold in December of 2009. These things are all known.

5. HHS Has Failed to Meet a Third of Obamacare’s Mandated Deadlines
A new report from the non-partisan Congressional Research Service, commissioned by Republican Senator Tom Coburn of Oklahoma and others, finds astounding proof of the total administrative failure of the administration in implementing Obamacare. According to the report, HHS has missed one-third of the deadlines contained within the legislation for the first six months under Obama’s new health care regime.

6. About Newsweek’s Generic Ballot
So Newsweek put out a new Generic Ballot. The magazine’s polling had drawn notice before in my House projection reports (this week’s edition coming later today), but this new one just seems completely out of line: Democrats +5 among Registered Voters. That filtering is expected to lean to the left after the 2008 anomaly, but this is ridiculous.
I have two major points of contention with this poll that call into question how useful it is.

7. Shorter Virginia Ironside: Most Adopted Kids Would Rather Be Dead, Anyway
According to author and columnist Virginia Ironside, most adopted kids would be better off dead. As would most children she considers “unfit”. In fact, she says, a “loving” mother would smother a sickly child with a pillow, because the “suffering” of being ill makes that life meaningless and not worth living. She made these vile assertions in defense of abortion while appearing on the BBC’s Sunday Morning Live during a discussion grossly entitled “Can abortion be a kindness?” First, her odious attempt to argue that abortion is a “loving choice” because some kids, in her mind, are unwanted. Her tunnel-visioned, sad excuse for a mind can’t seem to fathom the fact that the children are always wanted, by someone. You know, like people with hearts and compassion.

But I thought carbon and electricity were bad..... Mmmmmmkay ?
Kenny Solomon (Diary) Tuesday, October 5th at 8:15AM EDT (link)Andre Geim of the Netherlands and Russian-British national Konstantin Novoselov won the 2010 Nobel Physics Prize on Tuesday for pioneering work on graphene, a form of carbon which conducts electricity, the Nobel jury said.
The Swedish Academy of Sciences called graphene “the perfect atomic lattice.” It lauded Geim, 51 and Novoselov, 36, for having “shown that carbon in such a flat form has exceptional properties that originate from the remarkable world of quantum physics.”

How much did the science guys have to pay The Chicago Climate Exchange for the privilege of working with carbon ?
….and where was Algore through all this ?……. He should have been out there at the lab with his Earth-First and ELF buddies doing what comes natural: Protesting, lying in media interviews, and firebombing facilities.
But these scientists really better watch out or V’ger is gonna want to talk with them and maybe even ‘connect’.
Oh wait…….. I keep forgetting that ‘resistance is futile’.

“If I were interested, I’d be a Republican,” the real estate developer told Time. “They have a chance to make a big difference [after the midterms]. The last time, they blew it.”
“I think I’m qualified [to be president] because I deal with countries that are taking us to lunch in a negative sense,” Trump said. “I deal with Chinese. I know the Chinese. I understand the Chinese. They laugh at our stupidity. That laugh at how stupid our leaders are.”

But what happens in the media the first time POTUS Trump plays golf with Charles Barkley ?
