As you know, I’m a fan of Rick Scott. I’ve known him for quite a while. I realize there is still ambivalence among a number of Bill McCollum supporters to support Rick, but I hope they will reconsider.
Please read this article that came out late yesterday profiling Rick Scott. It’s in the Gulf Coast Business Review and really lays out everything you’d want to know about Rick.
Scott also had what was known as “no-jerk” rule in Columbia’s corporate hiring. Before being hired as corporate counsel in 1991, Braun remembers having to interview with every vice president in the company to make sure he passed the “no-jerk” test. Street says that whenever Scott had a critical word for someone, the worst he would say was, “He’s not a nice person.” He didn’t curse.
Another Scott trait: He was remarkably even-tempered. Says Pillari, now a health-care restructuring adviser in San Francisco with Alvarez & Marsal: “Rick was never irrational, always level headed, always positive. Says Street: “One time I asked him if he ever lost his temper, and he said, ‘What benefit does that do me or anyone around me?’”
Seeing and communicating with Columbia-HCA’s physician partners and employees was important to Scott. He sent weekly e-mails to the company’s 285,000 staffers, and answered their e-mails as well. Pillari saw him as a motivator and inspiring to his associates. Adds Street: “Rick brings out the best in people if you see what he’s trying to do. He made me see more resources and talents in myself than anyone, including my mom.”
This man is the most qualified person in the race for Governor of Florida. I’d gladly vote for him if I lived there.

Erick I was skeptical
rdelbov Saturday, October 16th at 11:55AM EDT (link)of Scott–I liked McCollum for his hits on Clinton plus he was generally had a conservative voting record.
The more I read about Scott and the more I see about him. The more impressed I am.
I might add that the local unions have gone all in for Sink. They have hardly spent a buck on Crist or Meeks but Sink is getting a lot of Union funds. I guess that says it all.
Scott also picked a super Lt Gov nominee while Sink went for a Union connected state senator. A state capital connected state senator.
enough said
The more I get to know Rick Scott, the more I support him
fpete13527 (Diary) Saturday, October 16th at 12:06PM EDT (link)I have gotten to speak to Rick and listen to him at numerous occasions. Each time he delivered inspirational, no nonsense talks regarding who he is and what he stands for in Florida. In each time, and in subsequent conversations, I became clearer and clearer of his integrity, ability and commitment.
I’ve also researched all of the slanderous attacks that keep coming against him from Alex Sink. Here also, after research, I have found that the allegations are grossly exaggerated or more often pure lies. (Sink is the one who should have her background examined. See http://ow.ly/2Tpwe )
Rick gave me straight answers to everything I asked him and he fits my definition of the kind of leader we need as Governor and Congressional legislator. His answers made it clear to me that he will fight hard in ALL the areas that we need to fight in as conservatives….not just some, and not just partially.
As others have said, I will hold him to his word on his commitments. However, from getting to know Rick better, my clear sense is that he will keep those conservative commitments.
I am a solid vote FOR Rick and I am a solid stand FOR him.

Well focused on one of the key issues
RedBeard Sunday, October 17th at 8:58AM EDT (link)Just as judicial appointments were key in the 2008 presidential race, so is redistricting at the state level. And sadly, neither crucial issue gets much notice from the majority of voters.

I believe Scott will win narrowly,...
rightwingyahoo Saturday, October 16th at 7:43PM EDT (link)And be a far superior Gov. than McCollum would have been, primarily on immigration, taxes and spending, McCollum, who was my rep for over a decade, seems to have become way too establishment during the Bush years,
When he scoffed at the AZ law, he really hurt himself, That was when Scott took off, by committing to a similar law.
If not, well, there’s another election in 4 years.
Voting for Scott, but he failed on one promise
GregInFla (Diary) Saturday, October 16th at 7:55PM EDT (link)Or actually his campaign did. Called and said they’d drop off a lawn sign after I said I’d like one. No sign in 10 days. Maybe Sink’s staffers are doing this, calling Scott supporters and making promises. It would not surprise me. When individuals do the calling, you really do not know if the person really is who they say they are. I am still voting for Scott, and prefer to believe that it is Sink’s folks saying that they are Scott people.

– The sign outside the courthouse said no signs allowed. So I took it down.

A yard sign? What are you going to ask me next, for my favorite color?
Doc Holliday (Diary) Saturday, October 16th at 8:03PM EDT (link)seriously, we all have trouble getting yard signs unless we have a local guy on the ball. I have a crazy idea. If your area is having trouble getting yard signs, why don’t YOU volunteer to fix the problem?

I supported McCollum in the primary, and now I support Rick Scott
RedBeard Sunday, October 17th at 8:54AM EDT (link)It really is that simple.
To all McCollum supporters: Our guy lost the primary, fair and square. By now we all should have regrouped around Rick Scott. If not, why not? Do we really want a liberal in the governor’s mansion? That’s what we’re going to have unless we stop licking our wounds and get with the program.

suzyq Sunday, October 17th at 2:48PM EDT (link)I too voted for McCollum in the primary. I wasn’t sure Scott could beat Sink with all the “fraud” baggage.
IMO McCollum only has himself to blame for losing. He campaigned horribly! I felt he felt he “deserved” the governership and it was “his turn”. That’s the way he came across, then when the whole immigration thing came along it resonated with what people wanted.
I’ve always liked what Scott has said and there is no way I’m voting for Sink. I aggrevates me to no end too that McCollum is such a sore loser that he won’t endorse Scott. I’m sure if Scott lost, he would have done the right thing and endorsed McCollum. I’ll never vote for that man again just because of that!

That's my position on McCollum, as well
RedBeard Sunday, October 17th at 3:44PM EDT (link)I supported McCollum based upon his prior record in government, which wasn’t too bad. However, his performance during this campaign was hardly inspiring. Disappointing and distasteful, actually.
The Rick Scott decal is on my truck for the next two weeks.

Totally agree.
uselogic Monday, October 18th at 5:31PM EDT (link)Talked about 10 others into it too. Were going to leave the ballot blank since they were fed up with the nasty primary. Got to fight against all the anti-Scott propaganda dished up by the progressive papers and TV down here.
I'm voting for Scott

I am voting for Rick Scott. I supported him in the Primary, I was ambivalent between Scott vs McCollum I thought they would both do a good job, but then the back biting started and I just couldn’t vote for McCollum.
(Also voting for Rubio, Bondi etc -straight Rep as well as NO on 4,5 & 6)
