Lisa is a Wolf in Sheeps Clothing
gdpitzer Thursday, October 28th at 10:04AM EDT (link)Glen Beck had an interesting show (as if he ever had a boring show) in which he explained the “sheep in wolf’s clothing” tactic and Lisa fits this to a T (sans the Tea Party Shirt).
They get someone who appears to be supporting the original Republican values but who in reality support Socialism. She is not a Republican in any way shape or form.
What she is, is the Wolf.
The real question should be
Adjoran (Diary) Wednesday, October 27th at 11:24PM EDT (link)how did she ever earn a high school diploma? Or did Daddy buy one of those for her, too?
Seriously, how do you fail the bar exam FOUR times? Don’t they limit how many times you can take within a certain period – I thought it used to be three times within two years, then at least a year before another try? Or is Alaska different?

This going to cause a big fight in the courts….

californiagold Thursday, October 28th at 12:43AM EDT (link)Not only does Murkowski believe she is entitled to the senate seat her daddy gave her, (even though she lost in the primary) but now we find out she flunked the bar exam four times. Four times ?
In contrast, Joe Miller is a graduate of West Point and Yale law school. The choice is obvious next Tuesday. By electing Joe Miller, Alaska voters will be sending a message to DC that the days of business as usual are over.
Joe Miller passed the bar exam on his first try
katesmith (Diary) Thursday, October 28th at 1:05AM EDT (link)Mentioned near the end of McClatchy article.10/1/10. On the court decision announced today, it doesn’t sound like it will make that big a difference to her, but the McClatchy headline is painting it as a “blow to her write-in bid.” Other article says lists can still be handed out but without party id. Suit was first brought by Murkowski’s close personal friends at the Alaska Democrat Party against the state.
Explain to Me Why Murkowski is so Bad?
jgelling Thursday, October 28th at 1:23AM EDT (link)I mean really, why is everyone demonizing Murkowski here? Because Palin endorsed the other guy to settle an old political rivalry?
Murkowski voted against the stimulus, against every part of Obamacare, against the EPA regulating carbon (she’s most assuredly against cap and tax if that ever comes up for a vote), for allowing guns in national parks and interstate transport of concealed firearms, against both Obama’s Supreme Court nominees, for the Stupak amendment, for banning partial birth abortion, etc. etc.
The woman has a conservative voting record, no matter what anyone wants to say here. Most importantly, she won’t vote to put Harry Reid back in charge in the Senate. She’s still a Republican and a conservative even if Sarah Palin doesn’t like her very much.
She lost the primary and is running against the Republican

PowerToThePeople (Diary) Thursday, October 28th at 1:30AM EDT (link)even if what you say was 100% correct, which it is not, the fact she threw a temper tantrum after being beat in a fair election and started a write in campaign which could cost us the seat makes her a scum bag. This is after she brought people in just a few years ago to make sure the very same thing she is doing now did not happen to her.
I have no interest in going into her record as it seems you have at least read enough about her on here to know where the problems are. But for the sake of your dignity and pride, please do not try to lump that lady in with conservatives. At best she is a moderate and I will leave it at that as the words that should be used to describe her are not allowed on this site.
Check Her Record
jgelling Thursday, October 28th at 1:37AM EDT (link)It’s right here:
http://www.votesmart.org/voting_category.php?can_id=15841
There’s nothing moderate about that voting record. And every vote I mentioned is completely true and verifiable.
As far as Republican > conservative, I just disagree. That thinking would’ve given us Rep. Scozzafava.
It really is like people just want to demonize her for no reason. I gave you every major vote in the past few Congresses and a link to show she voted conservative down the line on all the big issues. And you tell me she’s a “sore loser” and that it’d be indignified to point out how she’s not a conservative.
Please, forgive my dignity, but tell me specifically why she’s not a conservative Republican?
She's worse than a Non-Conservative She's totally Unprincipled
constitutionalconservative (Diary) Thursday, October 28th at 1:42AM EDT (link)Murkowski represents all of the worst of our politics in America– nepotism …(appointed by her dad), complete lack of principle (publicly promising to respect the decision of Republican primary voters and then changing her mind when she lost), corrupt dealings (like with the Native Corporations that are funding her campaign). Meanwhile Miller is a decorated Gulf war veteran and a West Point and Yale Law grad– He has thought a lot about his views, whether or not you agree with him (And I certainly do)
I would be 1,000 times happier to see the Dem (McAdams) in the Senate than Murkowski, even though I agree with him on just about nothing when it comes to policy. Adding people to your coalition with no integrity ultimately destroys your party brand. If she is elected I will do anything in my power to see that she is kept out of our caucus.
She's worse than un-principled. She has contempt for the voters and beleives

If I knew nothing else about her, that would tell me she’s not a Conservative Republican.
“A political party cannot be all things to all people. It must represent certain fundamental beliefs which must not be compromised to political expediency, or simply to swell its numbers.” ~ Ronald Reagan
I have checked her record
PowerToThePeople (Diary) Thursday, October 28th at 3:36AM EDT (link)but lets both look at a few items just for kicks and giggles shall we:
First republican to ever receive an A rating from the anti reform group NEA. By God this puts her in the class with Pelosi, Frank, Reid, etc. The main reason she got the liberal rating was her staunch opposition to Opportunity Scholarship Program.
Has made it clear she does not support the ending of abortion.
She supports a government take over of health care. In her own words:
On 10/18/07 voted with every dem against an amendment that would prohibit tax money from being given to companies that perform abortions other than life of mother and hospitals.
She voted with the Democrats against adopting an admendment to S Amdt 1373 to HR 2892 (110th Session of Congress) that requires the 700 miles of reinforced fencing along the Mexico border, authorized under existing law, be completed by no later than December 31, 2010. (Roll Call Vote Number 220, 111th Session of Congress)
She voted for the wall street bailouts
She voted for stimulus funding in the Omnibus Bill, contributing to the deficit spending that is drowning our country
She is one of the greatest abusers of the earmark system, sponsoring close to $1 billion in earmarks.
She and Snowe cosponsored bills to reduce global warming pollution which would cost us and business a ton
The list could go on and on so quit trying to play me and everyone else in here. Voting “conservative” part of the time and Voting liberal other times does not make her a conservative. It makes her a wishy washy moderate who can not be trusted. She is one of the worst RINOs in congress and for you to argue otherwise really makes me question your conservatism and your honesty.
My linking did not work out too well
PowerToThePeople (Diary) Thursday, October 28th at 3:39AM EDT (link)but you can see a record her comments concerning not over turning the Obama HC bill and her support for tax dollars going to pay for abortions.
Am I remembering correctly...
Mary Beth (Diary) Thursday, October 28th at 6:10AM EDT (link)…that Murky’s write-in campaign has received a ton of Union money? Several hundred thousand dollars I believe.
That right there is a massive red flag.

She lost the primary. End of story.
Finrod (Diary) Thursday, October 28th at 2:09AM EDT (link)Compare with Doug Hoffman in NY-23, who lost a viciously-contested primary (a year ago for the special election, there was no primary), sucked it up like a big boy, and endorsed the Republican that beat him in said primary.
If you can’t respect the results of a Republican primary, whether you’re the candidate or a fan, you’re a poor excuse for a Republican. She could have quietly bowed out and been the front-runner to unseat Alaska’s Dem Senator when he comes around again, but no, she had to burn the Republican Party to the ground in Alaska just because she couldn’t respect Republican voters. Her all-about-me campaign is actually putting Alaska in danger of having 2 Democratic Senators, which is unforgivable.
You’ve been here less than a week, so I strongly recommend you go back and read the archives from the time of the Alaska primary, and perhaps you’ll understand then.

gracie (Diary) Thursday, October 28th at 1:23AM EDT (link)Just got an e-mail from Miller that he is very short on having enough money to fight Murkowski. I had given to him last week so was on his list. He asked that I pass it on. I hope this is appropriate for this thread!
How in heavens name did she ever get this close to him???
Lisa Murkowski voted to confirm Eric Holder and voted for TARP
katesmith (Diary) Thursday, October 28th at 2:08AM EDT (link)The Holder vote I believe 2/2/09, TARP 10/1/08. Holder vote reportedly just because she thought the president should have whom he wanted. If there were a debate, which there isn’t because she lost fair and square, these two votes alone have inflicted enormous harm on America.
8/25/10, CNN, (mid page): “To be sure, Murkowski – who was first appointed to her post by her father in 2002 — was also hampered by her own record, having voted for the Troubled Asset Relief Program, which many conservatives view as the ultimate example of a government handout.
A Congressional Quarterly analysis suggests Murkowski is the most moderate senator facing re-elections this year, having voted against her party 30 percent of the time on key votes. Another Congressional Quarterly analysis, from 2003 to 2008, suggests Murkowski has
* increasingly voted with Democrats over the years.”…
Aside from the above, many people were well embedded in the Beltway while our country was being lost, lifetimes of work and sacrifice transferred to George Soros’ bank account. Ms. Murkowski has lived a graced life, which is nice for her. She is not the new blood we desperately need.
don't worry about Murkowski

Murky will undermine the conservatives
chihank Thursday, October 28th at 10:51AM EDT (link)If Murky steals the election, then Murky will be beholden to labor unions and liberal Native Americans which backed her write-in bid.
Since losing the primary, she has bashed the tea parties and campaigned on more pork for AK.
Murky’s votes on the issues will be for sale. Don’t be surprised if Murky votes with the Dems just to undermine DeMint.
As they say, veeeery interesting

The true will of the people is being done...
corbert Friday, November 5th at 2:01PM EDT (link)And NOT the will of the Republican party with the probable win of write-in candidate Lisa Murkowski. HAIL TO THE PEOPLE!
I love it how it was the “will of the people” when the Republicans won on Tuesday and a “notice to the President” that his agenda was being rejected, but when Lisa Murkowski’s probable win, by write-in even, becomes more and more apparent, all of the sudden she’s a horrible person. A whiner. A RINO.
Whatever the outcome, it’s the will of the people. It’s what those who voted ultimately wanted.
