Season 4 of 24 Open Thread

In Season 4 of 24, acting President Logan is so incompetent and bush league that he brings back President Palmer to take charge of the situation.

Today in Washington, Barack Obama stole that playbook and brought back Bill Clinton.

Consider this your open thread.

    This is just well…….

He has put Bill Clinton in charge. When asked what happened to Smokin’ Joe Biden he simply said “Are you kidding?”

He headed straight to Marien One to join Michelle in a little Kwanza shpping.

UNREAL. Obama LEFT the press conference in Clinton’s hands in order not to piss off Michele. Like most other world leaders, Obama is now bowing down to Clinton. Pretty soon Obama will get Bill some coffee if he hasn’t already.

Bill is back in the saddle again, look at that grin!

This job is toooo hard for Obama. He has never had to work. He is playing a victim in the most powerful office in the world.

Obama is officially done, The Won has no clothes and no undies, just diapers. Someone toss him his nooki and blankey.

I’m afraid it will be open season on America as Joe Biden says Obama will be tested. If you bend over and grab your ankles you’ll get more than tested.

Given we’ve two more years of this, I’ve no idea how the next step in the devolution will manifest. Musical comedy?

    That couldn’t have happened.

    That just couldn’t have.

But I think the far left is racist. How dare they be critical of the 1st African American president /sarc

But really, I always thought part of their deal was to have him elected to seal the loyality of the African American community, and then make damn sure that if there was black Ronald Reagan, there would make sure through the copted organizations like the NAACP that there would be no way for him/her to get elected.

  • Common_Cents

    Did you see Clinton’s grin?

You know Clinton was thinkin “what a wussy boy”, “bring me some coffee!”.

I predict those video will capture the official last of any hope and the end of Obama.

Has a President ever abdicated in the middle of a press conference?

Obama just did the first ever live news conference, news dump.

He started something again; and did not finish.

I bet Bill took him in the old office, the one where he liked to fire up a fatty or I mean cigar and gave him the riot act. Or maybe not…

Either way Bill’s ego has got to be beyond ecstatic.

Expect the unexpected..Keep your eye toward the heavens..

    Merry Christmas Everyone!

I don’t think Clinton will be as gracious as Palmer, though. Can’t see him letting Obama dress him down to look more Presidential.

  • earlgrey

One of the main criticisms hurled at Palin is her decision to quit and not fill out her term as AK governor. Yes, the circumstances were different, but doesn’t play well.

  • Tbone

but thanks for appearing stupid by trying to tie the two together.

The Surprise Trip to the Briefing Room

    http://thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/12/10/the-surprise-trip-to-the-briefing-room/?partner=rss&emc=rss

The unannounced visit by President Obama and former President Bill Clinton to the White House briefing room was a surprise to absolutely everyone ? including Mr. Obama?s top advisers.

AND I bet they were even more surprised when Obama left Bill at the PRESIDENTIAL Podium by himself…..

  • throwback59

pushing the ‘left is racist’ line for a few days now.
    The left isn’t pleased.

  • throwback59

I mean Barack & Bill make such a cute couple.
Of course, when you think about it, it’s a step up for both of them.

  • earlgrey

The american electorate has more diverse and is less Palin-friendly than the Red State site. Good luck with your Palin campaign.

  • Scope

I’m not in anyone’s camp at this point, but, that attempt at a tie in was about as stupid a comment I have seen lately. It should be saved as one of the most stupid comments ever made on RS.

  • Scope

“The american electorate has more diverse and is less Palin-friendly than the Red State site”

I’m not in Palin’s camp for the presidency at this time, but, your original comment trying to tie Palin leaving the Governorship, into a Clinton speech for Obama is a little bit of a stretch, isn’t it?

  • Scope

when I see some writers trying to tie Palin into everything and anything positive in this world, even when she has no nexus to the situation.

  • Read Chesterton

Didn’t Logan have Palmer whacked after that?

  • earlgrey
  • Jack_Savage

And that his decisions only affect whether he becomes “The Apprentice” or not. He is worthless, both personally and professionally.

The picture on Drudge of him leaving the room while Clinton takes over the podium is just stunning. He has such an inflated sense of self that he truly doesn’t understand what is going on.

That picture makes the cover of every conservative magazine in the country next week.

WASHINGTON DC ? Ending weeks of speculation and rumors, President Barack Obama today named Bill Clinton to join his administration as President of the United States, where he will head the federal government?s executive branch?.

    From Hot Air comments….LOL

    to his visiting predecessor.

It ain’t so smart when the podium says “President of the United States” on it. (I know, it didn’t, but never mind.)

Just now watching Clinton answer the question with the comment about Krauthammer. He looks like he understands the issue, that he’s been reading various sources for information about it, and he was immediately more connected with the world than His Majesty has ever been.

  • janis

Billy Bob answered more questions in that 30 minutes than O has in the past two years.

This was an appalling example of incompetence on O’s part.

Lets not talk about Sarah Palin. She is terrible. I mean terrible. The Dems are serving the presidency up to us on a silver platter in 2012 through sheer incompetence and nominating Sarah Palin is the surest way I can think of to screw it up.

Sarah Palin is Christine O’Donnell except on a national scale. Christine O’Donnell was nothing short of a complete idiot. Karl Rove was absolutely right, Mike Castle might not be the guy we all want but he sure as hell is better than Chris Coons. The Republicans should have said, “thank you, yes, we sure would like Joe Biden’s senate seat.” But no, we nominate Christine O’Dumbs**t and screw it up all up.

Lets not do that with the POTUS spot.

  • BigGator5

It happen, Moe, and I missed it while it was happening live!

  • Jack_Savage

    - If you are a Democrat in the House or Senate, and happen to have one bit of self respect, do you vote for this thing after the President sub-contracts the heavy lifting to Bill Clinton, then actually admits he is running out on the press conference to placate the First Lady? And he is trying to convince everyone that this deal is important?

    - Is Barack Obama now simply bored with the job, or is he frustrated that there is actually some work involved in being leader of the free world? Or…

    - …does he truly believe that he deserved all the things that have come his way? And if so, is he simply bewildered that people to not respond to all the power and glory that is manifest in him? Or…

    - … are we actually watching a psychologically damaged human being who has held it together as long as he possibly can, who has paraded around naked for decades while his sycophants admire his clothes, begin a slow, public, catastrophic meltdown because people are actually realizing that he is not nearly up to the task at hand? That he has never been up to any task other than writing autobiographies extolling a quite unremarkable life?

This is worrisome to the point of being sickening. No one is at the helm. No one.

I just get amused at the way PDS sufferers run around silly looking for anything negative about her. Try breathing into a paper bag when you see her name to keep you from spewing on your screen.

  • Jim Tomasik

Make ‘um stop, I can’t hear the teee veeee….

  • rsjt

George W Bush had turned over a press conference to George H W Bush. Because this is essentially the same thing.

Would the press have been so docile and accepting?

What we just witnessed should worry people.

  • smitch61

    LOL…LOL!

  • smitch61

I am a news freak, so it is always on in the background. I usually just listen to Obama from afar ( generally yelling back at him),,, but not tonight… I heard Bill’s voice and though WTF? then I saw Obama walk away and I said WTF really? that did not just happen? I had to sit down on the couch to watch because I just cannot believe it.. I have never seen that before, then I thought : Man, Bush never would have gotten away with that one!!! it definitely is a whole new world.

I’m telling you right now that Barry O DOES NOT WANT A SECOND TERM, HE NEVER PLANNED ON 2 TERMS. Now if he can be dictator that is a different story.

    1. Barry O made history and he wants to take his fame and run to the lecturing tour.

    2. Barry O wanted to weaken this country and set it up for Revolution if he could. If not, then he wanted to cut and run. The Soros ties are too much of a coincidence. With Van Jones talking Revolution and Barry O doing everything he can to subvert Congress and all the Socialist in his administration, something is in the works. With Obama failing so miserably they have to act sooner than later.

  • SoulEspresso

actually knows how to play politics. He might do real damage.

Obama is so incompetent as to begin to appear to be a Manchurian Candidate … for us.

  • SoulEspresso

He believed too much in “The Man,” that America was far too racist to actually elect a black candidate.

And his story peaked on Inauguration Day. Right before the oath of office and the address.

  • Bobcat51

is adrift on a sea of melancholy following this shambolic performance.

  • elizabeth bennet

Talk about CLASSIC!!! The look on Bill’s face was pricelsss…he was in hog heaven!

And I gotta tell you – I was pretty darn pleased to see him myself. I felt all nostalgic and happy-like, and wanted to pat him on the head and ask how he’s been. I…I…I think I’ve actually missed the scoundrel!

Hugs, Bill. Who loves ya, baby!

  • CJB68

If what was just reported here is any indication, we have just watched President Obama basically show that he’s not up for the job.  Once again, I thank the housepets of America, who’re still howling for their free food, free clothing, free houses, free money, free everything…

It’d be a comedy act, if it weren’t for the fact that, at this moment, our world is being contested by a den of pirates masquerading as a “United Nations”, a score of dangerously ambitious would-be world conquerors and their lackeys, and two or more self-proclaimed “harmonious societies” whose ambitions are to have everyone else paying tribute while they roll tanks over their helpless citizens.  Ah, to be living in “interesting times”.

  • retail1

If I had not been watching this live with my husband and parents I would have sworn someone switched chanels to the Comedy Station. We all kept looking and saying to each other “did you see that?” And then Bill kept stage. We were giving the over/under on how long he would stay up there. We were all shocked, then had a good laugh, but then felt a sadness over what our nation’s treasured office has become in just two short years.

He knew it was a bad idea to leave, but couldn’t bear to miss a party…so he blamed it on Michelle. We all know if he’d thought this was a good idea he would have taken credit.

I can hear the GOP 2012 ads now…”do you want a President who cares more about the next gala….”

That picture on Drudge is amazing. Fantastic. It should be made into t-shirts.

  • jiminga

to cut a deal on taxes and doesn’t bother to consult congress, assuming they will see the wisdom in his work. When the deal blows up he calls in Slick Willie to try to fix his blunder. Wouldn’t the most intelligent POTUS since Carter have understood the correct protocol? Guess not.

Then he turns over his press conference to Bill and leaves the room. I am speechless to describe the devolution of the office of president under this rank amateur.

    Is it 2012 yet?

  • earlgrey

was that if Palin fans try to use this as reason why Obama is not up to the job, the MSM and everyone else will surely bring up her decision to quit. As you noticed I emphasized theat the cricumstances were different. I supported her decision at the time, and think she has done a world of good since then.

My screen is perfectly clear, although I appreciate your worthless advise. You see my comments were made with far less snark than you and Scope.
So you tell me, who should be breathing into Paper bag.

If you feel the need to be so rude, why don’t you go to Huffingpost or LA times to spew. It is a lot more fun over there. Or do you just prefer to pick on conservatives. If I were an independent you and Scope would convince me to vote Dem.

  • chbroussard

I’ve been saying that for two years.

This spectacle was painful to watch. Two narcissists on the stage at one time. At least one of them did the audience a favor by exiting Stage Left.

I see a Saturday Night Live sketch on the horizon.

  • melissatx

    and is a juvinile wannabe??????

He has to party while an ex president tidy’s up after his mess???
    Breathtaking.
And the press does not eviscerate him????????
    Hypocrites.

  • tankertodd

Fortunately they’re starting to figure out how bad Obama is. Fortunately we live in a country where we can make a mistake like that. When the Germans elected Hitler they didn’t get that luxury,

  • cactusjack

yesterday , if you think about it, was an even bigger slap in the face to -0- than Clinton coming in for “consultations.” The Dems are starting to fracture along their fault lines right in front of our eyes. Stay cool and keep your powder dry, Mr Boehner, there is going to be a lot of windfall opportunity for House conservatives in the next couple of months, if we are wise and skilfull.

  • cactusjack

It could ultimately finish and gift wrap -0 or, give him some maneuvering room. It is the area of foreign policy. It has been back burner in the MSM and WH the last 2 years, but it will not stay quiet much longer. Korea, Iran, (gee, maybe GWB wasnt so wrong about that Axis thing after all!?) even the Americas (Venezuela, Cuba). All are right on the verge of…something….that will bust out wide in the next two years. -0- and Joe Biden will be in the WH. Get ready. And like Glenn Beck admonishes, pray.

Rush might need to fire up Operation Chaos2 to help Obama beat back Bilary. I’d rather Obama take a beating at the ballot box than us facing Bilary. I have a feeling we won’t be seeing Obama. He is too intimidated and in over his head. He’ll come up with some BS excuse the he has served his purpose of transformation and setting America back on track. He’ll say he has some higher calling traveling the world giving speeches stirring up crap, and following up on nothing.

Sec Gen of the UN is the PERFECT job for Obama. meaningless words, no accountability or productivity on anything, traveling the world for meetings/speeches and bashing America. when is the US turn for Sec Gen?

That or SCOTUS. I pray he goes the UN route where he would remain fairly harmless.

  • cactusjack

party’s Pres Primary, the way Carter got beat up by Ted Kennedy but survived just barely in 1980. Then Jimmy stumbled on, exhausted and bloodied, against RWR that fall and just finished Carter off. The Carter model is the one we must hope for with -0- in 2012. If we can just skip the last two years foreign policy agony Carter had, and that -0- is fixing to have.
