Congress is Taking a Vacation

Jim Moran (D-VA) says that if the government shuts down (or not), Congress is going to go on a two week vacation. Barack Obama has decided to go off on a mini-vacation already.

In other words, Moran wants you to think it’ll be two weeks before the government opens back up. Not really. The Speaker and Senate Majority Leader or the President himself can call Congress back to Washington to deal with a matter.

But, if Moran is right, why not stick around and try to not shut down the government, Jim? You’d rather your vacation?

What about the troops?

    I like the contrast between Obama going on vacation and the GOP sticking it out. And Moran not doing everything he can when he represents a D.C. metropolitan suburb district is beyond comprehension.

    So, to review, Dems fail to pass a budget when they control both houses of Congress and the White House. Then the House passes a budget CR which Obama threatens to veto (doesn’t the former Constitutional law professor know bicameral legislation is required?), the Senate peels off Brown and Murkowski while Casey and Nelson are nowhere to be seen in standing for the unborn.

    Now millions more families are going to go without paychecks so the government can continue to funnel monies toward abortions through an organization that aids and abets sex trafficking time and again.

    I don’t know what the procedure would be, but a bill prohibiting any Congresscritters from leaving the District until a bill is passed might get them to focus.

    It would be entertaining if nothing else.

    One rumor is that the Planned Parenthood funding is the only (or primary) remaining sticking point. If so, then the GOP needs to blast everywhere that Obama and the Democrats believe paying abortionists with tax dollars is more important than paying our troops.

    A number of years ago some kid pulled a toy gun on him, and the ape took it upon himself to drag the kid to a police station.
    I was surprised the police didn’t tell the kid to arrest Moran.
    You would think Moran would cancel vacation plans with all those seniors, children, and now women[ according to Scarface Pelosi] that Repubs will be killing.
