What happened to Erick Erickson, superlawyer? I guess you are now officially a recovered lawyer. I would have salivated at the opportunity to put this little ditz through discovery and sent her lawyers reply letters stating, “So sue me. I will sign waivers of service of process. Be forewarned I will conduct aggressive discovery, will not settle, and will not consent to your client dismissing her suit should she choose to file and later realize her case is a loser.”

Conservative, Meghan was and is not in any way, intellectual or credible. (Shore is funny, Though)
Reality-type scenarios are crushing real accomplishments, and giving voice to less-than-credible “sages” {A-H E M !!} such as Meaghan-Dearest. Since she IS a public figure, with all it entails , she seems to be remarkably thin-skinned.
A humorous time-out, once in a while, is certainly appreciated, here in S/E Michigan. Thank You, all who participated.
Here’s to the 1st Amendment! It’s Number One for a reason!

Go easy on her attorneys. They’re making wheelbarrows of cash off that retainer and all the various legal work she needs done for her commercial “interests”. So if she got worked up about a parody that plainly falls under 1st amendment protections they’ve gotta send a letter and threaten “legal recourse” somewhere in there to keep Meghan happy.

Satire of public figures is next-to-impossible to sue for in the United States (otherwise the Daily Show and SNL* would be in some trouble) and the satiric intent of Leon’s post is beyond dispute and beyond any reasonable expectation of intent to deceive given the history and context.

I don’t know why they’re involved at all, though, since they represent Meghan Marguerite McCain and not Ms. “Totally M. McCain”.

*Meghan M. McCain worked for SNL during college — SNL being an program that mocks well-known public figures and tears them down through impersonations. She also worked for Newsweek, which libels actual journalists on a weekly basis by impersonating a news magazine.

Might I suggest that Ms. McCain read Hustler Magazine, Inc. v. Falwell, 485 U.S. 46 (1988).

If she is too busy being fabulous or eating sushi or whatever pretentious, liberal, pseudo-intellectuals do, might I suggest she watch the film “The People v. Larry Flynt.” It stars Woody Harrelson, Edward Norton and Courtney Love, who I believe are all sufficiently liberal to be considered cool.
