Registration for our 4th Annual RedState Gathering is officially open! I would like to extend exclusive, early bird registration and pricing to RedState Morning Briefing subscribers.
The 2011 RedState Gathering featured an all-star cast and schedule, highlighted by Governor Rick Perry announcing his Presidential campaign. Without a doubt, this year’s RedState Gathering — double the length of last year’s event and just weeks out from the Republican National Convention — will prove to be the best one yet.
The 2012 RedState Gathering will be held August 2-5 at the Omni Jacksonville Hotel in Jacksonville, Florida. With two full days of speakers and activities this year, the schedule will not disappoint. We will once again have an all-star lineup and I will share speaker commitments with you as soon as I am able.
One exciting announcement I am able to make is that Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal will be a keynote speaker.
Governor Jindal’s unprecedented primary landslide re-election just months ago further supported the frequency of his name coming up in the 2012 vice presidential discussion. We are thrilled to have him at the RedState podium this year.
Also, after so many fine compliments the last couple of years about American Majority’s training sessions, we’re taking them from being a sponsor of the Gathering to being our partner.
As I have frequently said, American Majority provides some of the best grassroots training for conservatives anywhere in America. Adding an extra day to this year’s Gathering, we’re going to expand American Majority’s training to make sure we’re not just headed to Florida to listen, but to learn and mobilize for the fight against Barack Obama in November.
So please, go here now and in early before the rates rise. I look forward to seeing you there.

A little flexibility on the form...
funkyconservative Wednesday, March 21st at 7:32PM EDT (link)would be nice since I am bringing my daughter (leaving the spouse at home to care for the menagerie). Do I still get the “spouse” rate of $99.00, or is she a liability at $149.00 (thanks to BO, it’s bad enough that she’ll be on my health insurance policy until she’s 26)?
I’ve also got about 3-4 friends that might attend. Will they each have to sign up individually? It seems that in 2010 I was able to sign everyone up on one form.
Looking forward to this important gathering!
Is this Rick Perry's 2016 announcement?
ohiohistorian (Diary) Friday, March 2nd at 5:41AM EDT (link)Or are we now supporting a third party? Or is Rick pushing to be a dark horse convention candidate?
The question is important. If Red State is supporting Governor Rick Perry not supporting the Republican candidate, has Governor Rick Perry then resigned from the Texas Republican Party? Or is he going to do a reverse Ron Paul (I was in the Party before I was out of it?) Or is he going to do something else? Sounds like an ill-conceived strategy.

The mere mention of Perry's name sends some over the edge
circlegranch Friday, March 2nd at 7:33AM EDT (link)which means he’s very viable for 2016 or whenever the country calls. Any man that can cause panic and indiscernable rambling as revealed here by our fellow commenter simply by being named in an article must have alot to offer.
Seems nary a day passes in these remaining days of the primary when one isn’t reminded of, “what if” and yesterday was no exception. In speaking about the president’s energy policies, our most likely to be nominee makes the statement that Pres. Obama just doesn’t understand energy. Gov. Romney, please, you very quickly must put aside this notion that we have a naive, ill-informed man in the Oval Office with no mind or knowledge, but that simply reads prepared teleprompter statements prepared by other clueless people. He understands what his energy policy is doing to America. He understands it very well. Have you not noticed what’s happening around you? Did you not hear about the 5 coal-fired power plants announcing yesterday they are shutting down? Have you bothered to check into the cost to taxpayers for one of these money pit Chevy Volt’s? Obama explained his plans ever so well during the ’08 race and his Energy Secy reiterated them this week before Congress. There’s no misunderstanding at all, except in your case, Gov. Romney. You are the one that is simplifying this dangerous and fatal policy for our country.
If Romney continues with his own misunderstanding of what is going on in this country and he goes forth in this campaign and into the general election revealing how naive and out of touch he is, he’ll soon learn the hard way just how clueless Obama was. Unfortunately, he takes the rest of us down with him.
Mr. Romney plans to bring Board Room tough talk to this race. He may even remove his suit coat when things get heated. He’s going up against Chicago thuggery and what he should do is bring back alley street brawl tactics. He just doesn’t seem to understand.
Because a "threadjacking" apparently occurred...
rsklaroff (Diary) Friday, March 2nd at 8:50AM EDT (link)…it is necessary to remember a few concepts, each of which is dramatized [for good or for bad] in today’s WSJ.
1. Andrew ["he made it cool to be conservative" Breitbart reminds us of the need to unite against BHO; amazingly, the "Remembrances" piece in the WSJ was buried @ the bottom of page 5.
http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052970203753704577255163292926398.html#mod=djempersonal
2. Perry continues to support The Newt, and the best way to rephrase the challenge is to perceive non-contenders as potential POTUS-nominees in 2020 [because we should envision re-election of whichever Republican is nominated this year]; although favored to win in his home-state, thinly-veiled hit-pieces abound ["Strong Views of Gingrich in District He Represented"] with this one ending with a “balanced” conclusion [a husband/wife supporting Romney/anyone].
http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052970203960804577241762170024558.html?mod=WSJ_WSJ_US_News_6
3. Many unifying themes exist—and must be emphasized—as has been emphasized by The Newt; of course, this essay’s code ominously suggests that it may be necessary for his GOP-competitors to champion his ideas ["Gingrich's Energy Charge"].
http://online.wsj.com/article/SB20001424052970203986604577255761338883798.html?mod=djempersonal
The bottom-line, here, is that 2011′s Gathering will be a hard-act to follow, recalling the energy of Perry’s announcement [and subsequent abandonment]…but it is vital to support the eventual nominee, particularly if it is Perry’s preference, The Newt.

Lest there be any ambiguity...
rsklaroff (Diary) Friday, March 2nd at 9:04AM EDT (link)…the good/bad/indifferent treatment of The Newt [and a man who embodied his energies] by the WSJ should not be lost among those who are being distracted by the “cinema” of the incessant discussion of a 2-man race.
The Newt remains the “Main St.” guy [a mantle inherited from Perry] who contrasts with “Wall St. Mitt” and “Main St. BHO.” Even a few minutes ago, Chris Wallace noted a drop in support for Santoroum [upper 20%], as The Newt rises [to~20%]. So, let’s just give it time, allow The Newt to win the biggest prize on Super Tuesday, build momentum the following week, and [recognizing rhetorical expertise, to be displayed again on FNC tomorrow-p.m.] displace Santorum as the anti-Romney.
It is almost too late for Mitt to begin to gesture to signal interest in possibly dialoguing someday with the key-triumvitate of the revitalized GOP—the Evangelicals, the Constitutional Conservatives, the TEA [“Taxed Enough Already”] Party Movement activists. Candidly, I’m amazed that he has chosen to try to demonstrate the ability to gain the nomination by ignoring the base—instead incessantly going-negative against his competitors—and let’s see how Sarah frames it tonight on FNC [probably continuing to telegraph support for The Newt]. Meanwhile, the Seattle Times just “endorsed” Mitt as the “default-choice.”

rightland1111 Saturday, March 3rd at 12:11PM EDT (link)I know as Conservatives, that many of you have seen this e-mail…but it is important to look at it again. According to this e-mail…offshore drilling would not even be in the picture. I’ve read all the information on the Bakken Field…besides what I received AGAIN in the e-mail. With the XL Pipeline being sidelined and this information…Why…oh…why has Boehner not done anything about this?
I am sure that this was part of Perry’s JOBS Plan and also that of Newt’s. We’re in serious trouble here folks and we are waiting for the magic fairy to come and sprinkle economic security back onto the USA.
It is time that RedState endorsed a candidate. What do you have to lose…really…what? So..the WaPo will make fun of you…so what! We need an “ideas man”…and Romney (who could care less about the base or the TPM or Evangelicals)…is running the show along with the elitist GOP. Santorum has ONE AND ONLY ONE fiscal solution…and that will cost ust MEGA BUCKS.
So…RedState…EE…endorse Newt…and while you are at it…try to get the women in this country to realize that the country is at stake…not their past encounters with MEN that did not turn out the way they had hoped. I don’t know how you do that…but that is why the negatives are so high on Gingrich.
OIL – You better be sitting down when you read this !!!!!!
Cruz Construction started a division in North Dakota
just 6 months ago. THIS WAS BACK IN 2008!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They sent every Kenworth (9 trucks) they had in Alaska to North Dakota and Several drivers.
They just bought two new Kenworth’s to add to that fleet; one being a Tri Drive tractor and a new 65 ton lowboy to go with it.
They also bought two new cranes (one crawler & one
rubber tired) for that Invasion.
Dave Cruz said they have moved more rigs in the last 6
months in ND than Cruz Construction moved in Alaska in
the last 6 years.
Williston is like a gold rush town; they moved one of
our 40 man camps down there since there are no rooms available.
Unemployment in ND is the lowest in the nation at 3.4
percent last I Checked.
See anything in the national news about how the oil
industry is fueling North Dakota ‘s economy?
Here’s an astonishing read. Important and verifiable information:
About 6 months ago, the writer was watching a news
program on oil and one of The Forbes Bros. Was the guest.
The host said to Forbes, “I am going to ask you a direct
question and I
Would like a direct answer; how much oil does the U.S.
Have in the ground?”
Forbes did not miss a beat, he said, “More than all the
Middle East put Together.”
The U.S. Geological Service issued a report in April
2008 that only
Scientists and oil men knew was coming, but man was it big.
It was a revised report (hadn’t been updated since 1995)
on how much oil was
In this area of the western 2/3 of North Dakota ,
western South Dakota , and
Extreme eastern Montana
Check THIS out:
The Bakken is the largest domestic oil discovery since
Alaska ‘s Prudhoe Bay ,
And has the potential to eliminate all American
dependence on foreign oil. The Energy Information
Administration (EIA) estimates it at 503 billion
barrels. Even if just 10% of the oil is recoverable (5
Billion barrels), at $107 a barrel,
We’re looking at a resource base worth more than $5.3 trillion.
“When I first briefed legislators on this, you could
practically see their Jaws hit the floor.
They had no idea..” says Terry Johnson, the Montana
Legislature’s financial analyzer.
“This sizable find is now the highest-producing onshore
oil field found in The past 56 years,” reports The
Pittsburgh Post Gazette.
It’s a formation known as the Williston Basin , but is
more commonly referred To as the ‘Bakken.’
It stretches from Northern Montana, through North Dakota
and into Canada .
For years, U.S. Oil exploration has been considered a dead end.
Even the ‘Big Oil’ companies gave up searching for major
oil wells decades Ago.
However, a recent technological breakthrough has opened
up the Bakken’s Massive reserves,
And we now have access of up to 500 billion barrels. And
because this is Light, sweet oil,
Those billions of barrels will cost Americans just $16 PER BARREL!!!!!!
That’s enough crude to fully fuel the American economy
for 2041 years Straight..
And if THAT didn’t throw you on the floor, then this
next one should – Because it’s from 2006 !!!!!!
U.S. Oil Discovery – Largest Reserve in the World
Stansberry Report Online – 4/20/2006
Hidden 1,000 feet beneath the surface of the Rocky Mountains lies the Largest untapped oil reserve in the world.
It is more than 2 TRILLION barrels. On August 8, 2005
President Bush Mandated its extraction.
In three and a half years of high oil prices none has
been extracted.
With this mother lode of oil why are we still fighting
over off-shore Drilling? They reported this stunning news:
We have more oil inside our borders, than all the other
Here are the official estimates:
8 times as much oil as Saudi Arabia
18 times as much oil as Iraq
21 times as much oil as Kuwait
22 times as much oil as Iran
500 times as much oil as Yemen
And it’s all right here in the Western United States !!!!!!
HOW can this BE? HOW can we NOT BE extracting this?
Because the Environmentalists and others have blocked all efforts to help America become Independent of foreign oil! Again, we are letting a small group of people Dictate our lives and our economy. WHY?
James Bartis, lead researcher with the study says we’ve got more oil in this Very compact area than the entire Middle East , more
than 2 TRILLION barrels Untapped. That’s more than all the proven oil reserves of crude oil in the World today, reports The Denver Post.
Don’t think ‘OPEC’ will drop its price even with this find? Think again!
It’s all about the competitive marketplace, it has to.
Think OPEC just might be funding the environmentalists?
