By ‘portability’, I mean require coverage of per-existing conditions but only if the condition was covered by a prior insurer…. And perhaps, set a uniform ‘wait’ for a condition to become covered if there was no prior insurer (eg, after being with an insurer for 5 (or maybe 3) years, all conditions become covered)

The biggest thing we could do for health-reform, is incentivize individual plan purchasing over group plans.

Any health care reform package will have to address those issues. As well as the complicated exclusion system which benefits higher earners disproportionately. There should be a means-tested tax credit for taxpayers and dependents, and Medicaid should either be block-granted or converted into an interstate premium support system.

Watch it all the way through. This is one of the reason's I absolutely despise (with a blatantly obvious passion) the deceitfulness of the left on the issue of abortion. Sooner or later, especially if O-care stands, they're going to want to start using genetic marker testing via amniocentesis for the purpose of defining who should and/or should not have the right to life. We'd miss out on experiences like what happens in this video...and yeah, it matters a lot, to more people than just Matt. So no matter what else we might succeed or fail in doing...we can't let them define the value of life. We HAVE to see through the lies.

point of view, unlike what Boehner already leaked, i.e. keep the “good parts” as a response if it’s struck down- yuk.

Communicate that it’s an individual’s right with ttheir Doc and gov’t shouldn’t be involved. There are many good ways to frame it but polls show that most are against it.

W/o the time of a long post, make it about freedom & at min. competition across state lines. Many more ideas but start there.

Okay, I’m not familiar with the credibility of Bloomberg….but this article outlines what the admin (with the help of some of their buddies) are planning to do if SCOTUS strikes down parts of O-care.

Any way to make a preemptive move on these plans, folks? Maybe dig back through the events in 2010, Pelosi’s famous “We have to pass it to know what’s in it”, remind people about “deem and pass” behind closed doors, Stupak’s famous “pro-life pledge” that was going to get signed in exchange for those votes, the Nebraska and LA deals, “if you want your coverage, you get to keep it”, etc.?

Also, drawing from info that has come out since then about the costs of the programs, how it isn’t doing what it claimed it would do in reducing health insurance/health care costs, how the number people covered under health insurance has decreased rather than increased, etc.?

I don’t exactly understand the pensions bill, but I do sympathise with Mike Bost and his constituents who have to stand against Chicago party bosses.
