I’m just pointing out a little difference-of-background that makes a very obvious difference-of-viewpoint….

My view, is that since America expects perpetual 3%-ish GDP growth, we have to understand that said 3% growth comes with 3% inflation.

You cannot have perpetual GDP growth without also growing the money supply to sustain it.

But my approach doesn’t allow for ‘print-to-pay’ – it’s more a concept of leading economic growth with monetary growth, in order to keep from starving the economy of money & going into a deflationary crash….

That is, if pensioner Phillip is to receive $200/wk for life, just print it and hang the inflationary impact.

We tried, IIRC, some of that approach under Carter – it got Reagan accused of stealing senior citizens’ dinners because of the delayed effect – and the congressional Dems got clever.

SS is no longer a “fixed-dollar” program. Pensioner Phillip, and all his peers, get a yearly COLA – Cost Of Living Adjustment – based on some mathematica obscura that always means last year’s $200/wk is this year’s $219.72/wk …

Hard to monetize out of trouble in a program that self-corrects for inflation, eh?

I’ve already replied about the CPC’s association with the Democratic Socialists of America and the Communist Party calling the CPC it’s allies. Also, that I know too many people who make it through college without gov’t assistance or huge loans by working their way through, paying as they go, and going where they can afford rather than where the want.
