EDITOR OF REDSTATE

Karen Handel Will Be At the RedState Gathering. Will You?

Karen Handel was the second candidate, behind Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli, to get a RedState endorsement in 2009 at our first RedState Gathering.

This year, she will join us in Jacksonville. Karen was the Secretary of State of Georgia before running for Governor of that state. She didn’t make it in that race, but went on to the Susan G. Komen Foundation where she led the fight to end Komen funding Planned Parenthood.

Karen, who had been attacked in the gubernatorial race as not sufficiently pro-life, was willing to lose her job at Komen over funding Planned Parenthood.

At this year’s RedState Gathering, we’ll hear from her and honor her hard work. Time is almost out. Go to www.redstategathering.com to register. I hope to see you there. The event will be in Jacksonville, FL on August 2nd through the 5th.

Because this comes through my daily briefing, I understand it to be an “open thread” because I was told this.

At any rate…here’s the scoop from GA. Obama is saying that he is afraid that Blacks will be disenfranchised. Well…get a load of this:
I live in a very rural area…but this is going on in the entire state and has made the local news.

I’m having trouble getting my driver’s license renewed. People, who are legal, are having trouble getting their GA ID’s renewed…and without them…WE CANNOT VOTE.

So, I call up the the License Bureau Dept and say…hey, I can’t get my license renewed because I was told to get there at 5-7 AM so I would be first on line when they open at 8AM.

Here’s the problem…AND THIS IS A FEDERAL LAW. This is what I need to prove that I am eligible to vote. I need, besides my previous driver’s license, a passport or my original birth certificate. I need a copy of my social security card…which I do not have…I put it somewhere and can’t find it. I was told by the woman in Atlanta that I could use my Medicare Card…but I found out that was a lie. I have my GA income tax forms with my social security number on it…I hope they will take that…I also need two envelopes addressed to me. If they are jointly addressed…I need my husband (burka days) to swear that I live with him at that residence.

Oh…what’s the big deal rightlane…you are whining too much. Nope. To have to stand in line for over eight hours to receive a driver’s license is stupid. I know this to be true because people were still there after eight hours and still had not been taken care of. I arrived three hours before they closed and they refused to allow me to wait. They said “come back tomorrow and hopefully you will be seen”. I asked them…what happens if you have a job…or if you have a business…who makes up for lost wages and income. No answer.

As I stated previously…I than called Atlanta…and what was I told…this was the policy of the Bush Administration. That this had gone into effect after September 11, 2001. I said I had received my driver’s license from them in 2003, received another copy and that I was due for renewal and there had never been this problem before.

People…in a very Conservative State…it’s not the Blacks…it’s EVERYONE having to jump through hoops that are unnecessary. Having my husband swear that I live with him is too much. I said I was licensed in the State of GA…didn’t matter. So….hopefully…I will have the chance to vote.

However…question…what about early voting…have they done away with that because of no voter ID?

Please … let’s get rid of Obama.

She has guts and she took a stand where the light shined on abortion, the murder of the innocent.

Leading is about doing leadership things that affect us all for years to come,. History is full of those who lead and who set examples because it was the only thing to do.

Karen was disgusted over Komen funding Planned Parenthood and lost her job for trying to change that funding. She stands next to Salmon Chase who jumped in front of a lynch mob in Cincinatti to protect an abolition newspaper.Fearlessly he said, “I am Sal Chase’ and the mob listened.

The prolife movement that protects God’s creations is alwlays one person standing up and bearing witness to the word without fear. There is no need to fear the slave class or abortionists. Karen stands in Grace, And inspires us all.

RS has some fine speakers but none more courageous and wise as Karen Handel. We have much to learn from her.
