Send Charlie Crist Some Back Wax

By: Erick Erickson (Diary)  |  March 9th at 02:00 PM  |

Last night on Fox, Charlie Crist said Marco Rubio’s ~$100.00 bill at a Florida salon could have been for back waxing. I don’t know if he was trying to make a racial statement, which would be keeping with what his campaign has done all along in trying to make Marco Rubio as hispanic as possible, or if he was gay baiting. I do know straight | Read More »

Charlie Crist Says He’d Keep the Democrats’ Health Care Deform Plan

By: Erick Erickson (Diary)  |  February 27th at 01:19 PM  |

At a time the GOP is pushing the Democrats to scrap their health care plan and start over — a view shared by the majority of Americans — Charlie Crist says he’d keep the Democrats’ plan. Mind you, he can’t think of a part worth saving, but he says he’d keep it anyway and work to “improve” it. Marco Rubio promptly sent out a press release | Read More »

Is Charlie Crist About to Flee the GOP?

By: Erick Erickson (Diary)  |  February 25th at 03:23 PM  |

The speculation is building that Charlie Crist is going to leave the GOP. Two highly placed and independent sources, speaking strictly on background, tell me that Gov. Charlie Crist is preparing to leave the Republican Party and run as an independent in the race for the U.S. Senate. With Crist trailing Marco Rubio by 18 points in the latest polls, the Crist campaign has been | Read More »

Scorched Earth: Charlie Crist Steals State GOP Records & Leaks Them to Press to Smear Rubio

By: Erick Erickson (Diary)  |  February 24th at 10:41 PM  |

There is growing speculation that Charlie Crist is going to run as a independent candidate in Florida as he continues sinking in the polls. Just a few weeks ago, Crist and Vice President Biden were caught having a private meal together in Miami. In addition, Crist has returned to embracing the Obama stimulus fraud. Either he’s going Democrat or he’s going independent. Before he goes, | Read More »

Marco Rubio Takes 12 Point Lead. Let’s Help Him Finish Off Charlie Crist.

By: Erick Erickson (Diary)  |  February 1st at 01:54 PM  |

Rasmussen has the political earthquake out today. Charlie Crist’s team was unavailable for comment as they were in the bathroom collectively unable to contain themselves. Boom. A new Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of likely GOP Primary voters in the state finds Rubio leading Crist 49% to 37%. Three percent (3%) prefer another candidate, and 11% are undecided. The new numbers mark a stunning turnaround. Crist | Read More »

Just When You Think Crist’s Bad News Weeks Have Bottomed Out

By: Erick Erickson (Diary)  |  January 28th at 11:29 AM  |

Just when you think Charlie Crist’s no good, very bad, awful several weeks has finished bottoming out and is prepared to rebound, the bottom falls out and he sinks even further. Today, Crist is proclaiming himself a “McCain Republican”, stealing a talking point from Scott Brown in Massachusetts. I’ve got news for Charlie Crist — if we’re lucky, John McCain is going to get beaten | Read More »

NEW POLL: Marco Rubio BEATS Charlie Crist

By: Erick Erickson (Diary)  |  January 26th at 09:30 AM  |

A new poll shows Marco Rubio ahead of Charlie Crist for the first time in the race. The Quinnipiac University poll has Rubio ahead by 3 and also beating Kendrick Meeks, the expected Democrat. Likewise, Senator John Cornyn is now saying of Rubio, “His chances are better now than they’ve been at any point earlier.” Nonetheless, Cornyn is standing by his man Charlie Crist. Steve Rothaus Must be an Idiot

By: Erick Erickson (Diary)  |  January 12th at 10:42 AM  |

I don’t know who Steve Rothaus is, but he is clearly an idiot. In a column for the Miami Herald, Rothaus writes A recent tweet from Erick Erickson of Redstate.com criticized a hiring decision by the Crist campaign as “birds of a feather,” a sly reference to Charlie Crist’s sexuality.  Here is the tweet in question. It reads, “Charlie Crist hires a Mitch McConnell staffer. | Read More »

Charlie Crist Will Drop Out of the Senate Race

By: Erick Erickson (Diary)  |  January 11th at 09:52 PM  |

The Crist campaign says it is not true, but the writing is on the wall. Again and again the media turns against Crist. Another blow to the Crist campaign came today as the Republican National Committee’s War Room sent out this unflattering story about the failures of the Crist campaign. The RNC did that. Huge Blow to Charlie Crist Today

By: Erick Erickson (Diary)  |  December 22nd at 12:14 PM  |

When Charlie Crist is losing even the establishment he is in serious trouble. Congressmen Lincoln and Mario Diaz-Balart have withdrawn their endorsements of Charlie Crist. Lincoln offered few details as to why, just that Crist had “left us no alternative and he knows why.” Diaz-Balart said the withdrawal has nothing to do with Crist’s slumping poll numbers, and in fact, the decision was made weeks | Read More »

Bill McCollum, Presumptive GOP Nominee for Florida Governor, Throws Charlie Crist Under the Bus

By: Erick Erickson (Diary)  |  December 17th at 12:21 PM  |

How bad is it for Charlie Crist? So bad that the presumptive nominee for the GOP’s gubernatorial candidate has thrown Crist under the bus. Speaking at an event in Ocala, FL, Bill McCollum listed his priorities for Governor and, as the Associated Press notes, they “look[] a lot like the one Gov. Charlie Crist had in 2006: education, lawsuit limits, property insurance and property taxes.” | Read More »

For the good of the GOP, will Charlie Crist drop out?

By: Erick Erickson (Diary)  |  December 17th at 11:50 AM  |

The first survey in the Florida Senate race was 54-8 in Charlie Crist’s favor. When Rubio broke into the mid-teens, Charlie Crist’s campaign said that for the good of the GOP, Rubio needed to withdraw. The NRSC endorsed campaign of Charlie Crist said Rubio would lose to Democrat Kendrick Meeks. Crist said that Rubio staying in the race would cause money to be spent unnecessarily | Read More »

A Bomb Goes Off in Florida

By: Erick Erickson (Diary)  |  December 16th at 07:30 AM  |

Last night in Washington, close to one hundred leaders of the conservative movement gathered in a townhouse just down from the United States Capitol to hear Senator Jim DeMint and Florida Speaker Marco Rubio at a Senate Conservatives Fund fundraiser for Marco Rubio. Charlie Crist Lies Again About Marco Rubio

By: Erick Erickson (Diary)  |  December 14th at 10:13 PM  |

It is called projection. The big spending, tax-hiking cover of the Florida accuses his opponent who has always been committed to cutting spending and taxes as being a big spending tax hiker. Come on, Charlie. Even the media is calling you out for your lies. “When you hear people out there on the campaign trail talking about what they’re going to do, look at what | Read More »

The Evolution of Charlie Crist: He Says He is One Thing. His Record Shows Him to be Something Else.

By: Erick Erickson (Diary)  |  November 29th at 11:08 AM  |

“Charlie Crist’s actions prove him to be anti-family, anti-life, anti-gun, and very much in favor of taxes” Last week, Charlie Crist decided to attack conservatives by telling reporters that “It’s hard to be more conservative than I am on issues — there’s different ways stylistically to communicate that — I’m pro-life, I’m pro-gun, I’m pro-family, and I’m anti-tax,” then went on to say he guessed | Read More »

In January, when he decides to quit the Senate primary (you heard it hear first) and get back in the Florida Governor’s race, he’s going to be doing some scrambling to douse the flames on all the bridges he is burning. Charlie Crist Finally Pulls Race Card. Jealous of Rubio’s Better Tan.

By: Erick Erickson (Diary)  |  November 12th at 09:00 AM  |

Well, we knew Crist was desperate, but pulling the race card seems really low even for him, given all the videos circulating out there about Crist’s personal life. Good grief. George and Jeb Bush to Hold Rubio Fundraiser

This is great news. Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush’s sons plans to hold a private fundraiser for insurgent GOP Senate candidate Marco Rubio next month, Rubio told Fox News.  The active involvement of George P. Charlie Crist’s Big Financier Is Under Federal Investigation While Crist’s Communications Director Quits

By: Erick Erickson (Diary)  |  November 11th at 05:34 PM  |

It is almost an admission by the Crist campaign that his campaign is garbage. Governor Crist’s long time communications director is out. After a run of bad publicity, Gov. Charlie Crist will go the route of so many chief executives hampered by falling poll numbers or botched public relations: shaking up the communications team. Crist’s office confirmed Wednesday he is parting ways with longtime communications | Read More »
