Barack Obama Thinks an ATM Ate Your Job
By: Erick Erickson (Diary) | June 15th at 04:45 AM |
Yesterday, Barack Obama gave away the game. Without actually using the words, Barack Obama admitted he is completely and utterly ignorant about job creation and economics. In an interview with the Today Show, Barack Obama declared that the unemployment rate remains so high because of ATMS. Sadly, many people will agree with him because they lack the vision to see the whole picture. They see | Read More »
What You Won’t Be Hearing
By: Erick Erickson (Diary) | June 2nd at 11:57 AM |
“As you continue to watch the news coverage of the deteriorating economic climate, just remember that most of the premises that will be made and enunciated are that the government must do more, not less.” In all of the discussions about our current economic state, a possible regression or double dip recession, out-of-control debts, and continued high unemployment there is one conversation those who frame | Read More »
Barack Obama Monotones
By: Erick Erickson (Diary) | August 31st at 09:20 PM |
Barack Obama again waited for Rush Limbaugh to go on vacation before addressing the public from the Oval Office. Like the last speech, this speech was, for three-quarters of it, dry and monotone — President Spock addressing the nation without emotion. Finally, at the end, Spockobama gave into emotion and showed some talking about the troops. Throughout though, the speech was a rather pathetic speech. | Read More »
No Act of Moderation: Why Barack Obama cannot fix the economy
By: Erick Erickson (Diary) | June 7th at 11:18 AM |
Updated to reflect Obama’s NBC interview “Tie Barack Obama’s handling of the economy together with his handing of the British Petroleum accident and we have the definitive reason Barack Obama cannot fix the economy.” This past week, the Gulf States who hoped Barack Obama would actually do something to help them were stunned when he imposed a ban on deep water offshore drilling. It is | Read More »
Why the jobs aren’t coming back
By: Erick Erickson (Diary) | February 21st at 11:24 PM |
The Politico has an interesting story about Toyota up. It seems the company does not much care for this administration. Internal Toyota documents derided the Obama administration and Democratic Congress as “activist” and “not industry friendly,” a revelation that comes days before the giant automaker’s top executives testify on Capitol Hill amid a giant recall. It is not, however, just Toyota. Lots of businesses and | Read More »
Saved or Created Jobs Or Unemployment?
By: Erick Erickson (Diary) | November 6th at 08:51 AM |
Wow. Obama has been touring the nation making sure we know how many jobs he has saved or created. It is looking more and more like he is saving or creating the jobless. Unemployment this morning topped 10.2%, even though the number seeking employment has declined. Many have just given up. Likewise, and more troublesome, the average hours worked in a week is at its | Read More »
Joe Biden Says We Are In A Depression
By: Erick Erickson (Diary) | October 19th at 09:55 PM |
I though the stimulus was working. Sean Hannity brings us some video of Joe Biden this week contradicting everything we have heard from the White House so far. According to Joe Biden, the American economy is not in a recession, but a depression. We’ve got the video. And we owe Hannity a big thanks because you and I both know everyone else would bury this | Read More »
Creating or Saving Jobs?
By: Erick Erickson (Diary) | June 8th at 12:00 PM |
As word comes out that unemployment in the United States is even higher than Barack Obama’s worst case estimates, Obama is stepping up the public relations campaign. President Barack Obama said on Monday he expected to create or save 600,000 jobs over the next 100 days by expediting 10 major projects funded by a huge stimulus package that Congress passed in February. Sorry folks, the | Read More »
Is Rahm Emanuel Trying to Force Out Larry Summers?
By: Erick Erickson (Diary) | June 8th at 09:28 AM |
Articles on personality conflicts do not end up getting great exposure in the New York Times by coincidence. Someone has to push the story. Someone has to give the story credibility. And someone has to get sources to talk. That is why Larry Summers should be starting his own death watch this morning. Jackie Calmes paints a picture of a sell out hindering the economic | Read More »
Barack Obama’s Stimulus Is Not Stimulating
By: Erick Erickson (Diary) | June 8th at 04:30 AM |
Moe has already pointed this out. It is worth reiterating and paying attention to. Below is a chart prepared by the Obama administration — at least the blue lines were prepared by the Obama Administration. The light blue line shows what unemployment would be like if Barack Obama’s stimulus plan had not been passed. The dark blue line shows what unemployment would be like with | Read More »
Barack Obama Succeeded In Getting HIs Stimulus Plan Through Congress. Now America Fails.
By: Erick Erickson (Diary) | April 26th at 09:52 PM |
On January 10, 2009, Barack Obama delivered his Weekly Address to the Nation as the then President-Elect. He said We start this new year in the midst of an economic crisis unlike any we have seen in our lifetime. We learned yesterday that in the past month alone, we lost more than half a million jobs – a total of nearly 2.6 million in the | Read More »
Bernie Madoff:Billionaires :: Barack Obama:Everyone Else
By: Erick Erickson (Diary) | March 13th at 10:29 AM |
Welcome Andrew Sullivan readers! Remember: PETA likes pleather, not leather. I am sitting in a Dean & Deluca enjoying a café au lait (hey, I’m from Louisiana, deal with it) looking out at the scrolling news sign at NBC News. The headline that just scrolled past read “Bernie Madoff Spends First Night in Jail.” We have a guy who ran a ponzi scheme that stole | Read More »
