Tim Pawlenty To Make It Official on Monday
By: Erick Erickson (Diary) | May 20th at 01:16 PM |
Tim Pawlenty will declare his candidacy for the Presidency on Monday. It’s not like this is unexpected news, but at least he is finally making it official. Former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty, a laid-back Midwestern Republican who governed a Democratic-leaning state, is running for president and will declare his candidacy on Monday in the leadoff caucus state of Iowa, an adviser told The Associated Press. | Read More »
Mark Ritchie, He’s Our Man. If He Can’t Steal It, No One Can!
By: Erick Erickson (Diary) | December 10th at 10:16 PM |
Mark Ritchie is the Secretary of State of Minnesota. He is, by law, to fairly carry out the laws of the state and fairly enforce the rules relating to elections in the state. Instead, he has operated as a partisan hack. At a time when surveys are showing Minnesotans increasingly think the recount has been unfair to Coleman and Franken is growing increasingly unpopular, Ritchie, | Read More »
Stealing Minnesota: Al Franken’s Mixed Up Made Up Facts Du Jour
By: Erick Erickson (Diary) | December 9th at 08:12 AM |
As you know, the Franken campaign is trying to convince everyone that 133 ballots are missing (though it appears Minneapolis gave up looking for them today) . That is why Franken wanted a church searched and janitors, election workers, and others interrogated by the authorities. Unfortunately, no one seems to be pointing out a couple of rather obvious alternative explanations for 133 ballots not being | Read More »

The Top 5 Signs of a Desperate Al Franken
By: Erick Erickson (Diary) | December 5th at 04:50 PM |
5 – His Campaign Suggests That Law Enforcement Raid A Church Alleging That They Must Have More Votes For Him Hiding In The Pews The Franken Campaign Has Called For A “Systematic Forensic Search” Of A Church. “Conduct a systematic forensic search of the church that served as a polling place, any vehicle used to transport ballots or other elections materials, the warehouse where the | Read More »
Franken’s Hopes Look Dim. But He’ll Soldier On.
By: Erick Erickson (Diary) | December 4th at 03:11 PM |
Matt Lewis pointed it out. So does Michael Barone. I agree with them. Because Saxby guarantees the Democrats can’t get to 60 in the Senate, Al Franken’s victory becomes rather meaningless to a group of people who don’t much like him anyway. The odds decrease daily that the United States Senate will sit Al Franken — especially considering he has never led during the recount | Read More »
Poor Al
By: Erick Erickson (Diary) | December 4th at 09:49 AM |
Hahahahaha. This is way too funny. Elections officials in Minnesota’s largest city today discovered that one precinct came up 133 ballots short of election day totals, resulting in a net loss for Democratic challenger Al Franken of 36 votes. The development wipes away what had been a boon for Franken in his bid to overtake Republican U.S. Sen. Norm Coleman, after Ramsey County officials found | Read More »
Stealing Minnesota: What the hell is wrong with people in Minnesota?
By: Erick Erickson (Diary) | November 24th at 11:15 AM |
They apparently don’t know how to run a fair election, even though they’re all patting themselves on the back congratulating themselves on the integrity of the process. It’s like Robert Mugabe is in charge or something. This is outrageous. A woman who worked for Al Franken earlier this week during the Senate recount in one county ended up counting ballots as a nonpartisan volunteer here | Read More »
Stealing Minnesota: If at first you don’t succeed, change the rules
By: Erick Erickson (Diary) | November 21st at 01:20 PM |
What is it about guys named Al trying to change election rules after the election is over? Geez. Franekn has filed suit with a favorable judge in a favorable county demanding the right to dig through rejected absentee ballots. It’s against the rules, mind you, so Franken is demanding the rules be changed. Opening up the rejected-ballot question is also a recipe for potential fraud. | Read More »
Stealing Minnesota: Franken’s ACORN
By: Erick Erickson (Diary) | November 20th at 10:17 AM |
We all know about ACORN right? The group masterfully steals elections by overwhelming the system with fraudulent voter registration applications that translate directly into voter fraud. They stampede election centers causing chaos so votes can be cast while people are distracted. They vote for the dead and claim racism when they are challenged. Well now we know how an unpopular jackass like Al Franken has | Read More »
Stealing Minnesota: Al Franken Wants To Count Empty Ovals, Not Marked Ovals
By: Erick Erickson (Diary) | November 19th at 08:56 PM |
Remember Al Fraken’s undervote theory? He wants to count as votes for himself ballots with no mark in his oval, though the person voted for every other Democrat. He claims that the voter’s intention was clearly to vote for him, even though there is no mark by his name because the voter voted for every other Democrat on the ballot. Below is a ballot from | Read More »
“Cautiously Optimistic”? Really Al?
By: Erick Erickson (Diary) | November 19th at 04:08 PM |
In Al Franken’s 2005 book, “The Truth (With Jokes)”, Franken aptly defines the term “cautiously optimistic” with this blurb: Cautiously optimistic? That’s not good. That’s an optimist’s way of saying, “We’re screwed.” I’ve instructed my wife that if a doctor ever tells her that he’s “cautiously optimistic” about my test results, she is to pull the plug immediately. Stealing Minnesota: Best Efforts
By: Erick Erickson (Diary) | November 18th at 10:30 AM |
The Franken camp is working over time to steal Minnesota now. With them worried they won’t catch up, Roll Call reports the Franken camp wants a delay. With the State Canvassing Board set to certify the results in Minnesota’s unresolved Senate race Tuesday, the campaign of comedian Al Franken (D) has asked the board not to officially call the race until the votes of several | Read More »
Stealing Minnesota: The Franken Undervote Lie
By: Erick Erickson (Diary) | November 13th at 11:57 AM |
I spent six years as an elections lawyer. I handled a lot of very wacked election canvasses and recounts. One thing they all had in common: when new votes were found, they generally went both ways — a few for one candidate and a few for the other candidate. It didn’t quite follow the polling, but then close races only happen at the 50-50 margin. | Read More »
Stealing Minnesota?
By: Erick Erickson (Diary) | November 11th at 11:51 AM |
“All the irregularities are benefiting Franken against statistical probability. ” Minnesota has become this year’s Florida, but it is only at the Senate level. Let me lay out the facts for you. When all the votes were counted on election day, Norm Coleman had won by about 800 votes. After canvassing all the votes, the number dropped pretty significantly to a 200 vote lead. The | Read More »
“I’m delighted there are lobbyists in Washington.”

El Tinklenberg is the man who oversaw the Minnesota roads infrastructure that the nation witness collapse. He is also challenging Michelle Bachmann in MN-06. Here he is talking to a group of people in Minnesota about going to Washington and he is “delighted there are lobbyists in Washington.” Sounds just like the type of guy we need up there. Rep. Tim Walz (D-MN) As You’ve Never Seen Him
By: Erick Erickson (Diary) | October 23rd at 08:14 PM |
For some reason, the media in Minnesota has never thought it necessary to show this picture or track it down. It’s Congressman Tim Walz being arrested for a DUI. The picture is 13 years old. Why is it still relevant? Because Tim Walz two years ago and more recently lied about being arrested for being drunk. But now the truth is trickling out that he | Read More »
The NRCC Problem
By: Erick Erickson (Diary) | October 23rd at 09:01 AM |
Yesterday I vented about the NRCC pulling money from Michelle Bachmann’s race. A friend at the NRCC emailed me and pointed out that the NRCC is legally not allowed to talk to or coordinate with the Bachmann campaign for independent expenditures. It has to be an independent decision. And Tom Cole did not order the expenditures yanked. There is, in fact, a separate office from | Read More »
NRCC Yanks Funding From Michelle Bachmann (UPDATED)
By: Erick Erickson (Diary) | October 22nd at 05:12 PM |
Let’s just call Tom Cole (R-OK), the head of the NRCC, what he is: a douchebag. Some of you will be upset by the language, but I think it is an accurate description. We chronicled for you the need to ditch Tom Cole from the NRCC months ago. Sure, we knew it was going to be a bad year, but Cole seemed more interested in | Read More »
