Obama’s “Leadership”

The NRSC has a great new web ad out about Barack Obama’s supposed leadership. As the Politico reportedyesterday But Democrats who thought Obama was churlish in his Wednesday White House press conference know that criticism is coming. “The president might as well cancel every golf game, Martha’s Vineyard vacation and fundraiser from here until doomsday because he’s living in a glass White House and Republicans | Read More »

John Cornyn Declares He Will Continue The War Against Conservative Candidates

This is just pitiful. You’d think that John Cornyn would have learned his lesson, but he hasn’t. In a closed door meeting of Senate Republicans, John Cornyn lectured his colleagues that instead of going out and recruiting conservatives against his terrible NRSC hand-picked candidates, Senators should just come talk to him. Seriously? We got into this mess because Cornyn didn’t listen. He did not listen | Read More »

    Recriminations

“The NRSC’s argument amounts to telling the world that voters exercising their right to pick their candidates are stupid and Jim DeMint is stupid for siding with the voters.” On November 2, 2010, the Republican Party made its largest single day gains in the House of Representatives since 1948 and, I have been told credibly, the largest gains of any political party in local, state, | Read More »

GOP, Inc. As Darth Vader Starring Rob Jesmer As the Guy in the Suit

It is a delightful morning. The National Republican Senatorial Committee and the GOP Establishment, including Karl Rove in full on meltdown last night on Fox News, has been beaten yet again in Delaware by the supposedly crazy girl from the fringe who could not possibly take out the 12 time elected Republican Mike Castle. Christine O’Donnell was crazy . . . crazy like a fox. | Read More »

Joe Miller Fires A Shot in Alaska

The NRSC has sent its top lawyer to Alaska on Lisa Murkowski’s behalf and Joe Miller went on Fox today to point out the NRSC is inappropriately meddling in the race now, even though Murkowski is flirting with an independent or write-in bid. Well, I’ve just received a copy of a letter (PDF) from Miller’s attorneys demanding the disqualification of Lisa Murkowski campaign observer Bonnie | Read More »

    Barack Obama’s Endless Summer

As Barack Obama heads out to do some fundraisers today, the NRSC has prepared a pretty solid video highlighting Obama’s pattern of frivolous behavior.

Didn’t They Do This For Specter and Crist Too?

Remember, John Cornyn said the NRSC had learned its lesson. Remember, John Cornyn said the NRSC would now stay out of primaries. Why then is the Wall Street Journal reporting John Cornyn is off to Colorado to campaign with Jane Norton? First, it is a recognition that Ken Buck‘s campaign is ahead of the NRSC’s chosen campaign. Second, it is a recognition that the NRSC | Read More »

Rob Jesmer’s No Good, Low Down, Terribly Bad, Really Awful Strategy Continues

Let’s review. The Executive Director of the NRSC, Rob Jesmer, lines up the Republican Establishment to stand behind Arlen Specter over Pat Toomey. Specter bolts. Rob Jesmer then tries to get Tom Ridge in. Ridge refuses. The NRSC tries again in an “anybody but Toomey” bid. They fail. Toomey is the guy. In Florida, Rob Jesmer convinces Charlie Crist to leave the Governor’s Mansion and | Read More »

Rob Jesmer’s Strategy Comes Crashing Down Around Him

NOTE: I had it from good sources that Crist was going to bow out altogether, but it looks like he will keep his partisan affiliation with the GOP and run as an independent. _________________________________________ It was Rob Jesmer who made the brilliant decision to get Charlie Crist into the U.S. Senate race in Florida. It was Jesmer whose actions have caused an expensive primary to | Read More »

John Cornyn wants to keep on keeping on

This has got to make you laugh. John Cornyn (R-TX) is hinting he wants a second term as NRSC Chairman for the Senate Republicans. Seriously. If Cornyn were to lead the NRSC for another cycle, he would be following in the footsteps of another repeat chairman, Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (Ky.), who led the campaign committee during the 1998 and 2000 cycles. For perspective, in | Read More »

Cornyn’s Pot Calls Conservative Kettle Black

The man who chose Charlie Crist over Marco Rubio for the Florida Senate race says we conservatives ‘have to yield to reality’ when it comes to picking races that can and cannot be won. Whaaa …? So Cornyn and the NRSC jump into bed with Charlie Crist because of the poll numbers in Florida and now Crist is tied to or behind Marco Rubio. The | Read More »

    The Conservatives in the Races

Do you believe that conservatives can win general elections? Do you think that the GOP has the best chance since 1994 to make gains in the House and Senate this coming year? If you answered yes to both questions, let me ask you another one: why shouldn’t the GOP try to nominate viable conservatives in its primaries instead of just going with the candidate the | Read More »

Despite Claiming Otherwise, the NRSC Endorses Carly Fiorina

I realize we’re playing adolescent word games with the NRSC when it comes to Carly Fiorina. Just last week, John Cornyn said the NRSC would not be endorsing anyone, including Carly Fiorina. Reconciling that with the fact that the NRSC is entering into a joint fundraising venture with Fiorina is impossible. The NRSC and the Fiorina campaign joined forces to form the Fiorina Victory Committee, | Read More »

We’re Staying Out, So Please Send Money

Funny. The NRSC’s Chairman John Cornyn says the NRSC is sitting Florida out and won’t spend a nickel there. That’s fine. Of course they did just send out a big memo to NRSC donors and others highlighting all of the up coming opportunities for them to give Charlie Crist money. The most interesting thing about the list is that an event for Carly Fiorina is | Read More »

Dear RedState: “I Hear You, Washington Hears You, and the Idiots On My Staff Who Did This Hear You.” Respectfully, Sen. Cornyn

Well, the one Republican in Washington, D.C. today who seems to have had a realistic assessment of what took place yesterday is John Cornyn, the Chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee. He made sure to tell a reporter that the NRSC will not spend any money in Florida for Crist or against Rubio. Most curious in his statement were three words: “As far as | Read More »

John Cornyn Puts The Target On His Own Back

This is stunning hypocrisy. The head of Republican Senate campaign efforts said late Monday that GOPers in New York’s 23rd district “[paid] the price” for picking a nominee in a hotly contested special election behind closed doors. But wait . . . it gets better. NRSC spokesman Brian Walsh said on Monday that Cornyn’s tweet was directed at the local party and not at the | Read More »

    Fatuous Nonsensical Denial

I have to call this post that, because the other front page writers won’t let me use the word b*lls**t in a title or post. But that is exactly what the National Republican Senatorial Committee is peddling this evening. Here is Leon’s post about Al Ramirez and the miracle of the instantaneous 4000 twitter followers that Christ himself could not have gotten. In a nutshell, | Read More »

DSCC beats GOP for third consecutive fundraising quarter — OPEN THREAD

Maybe if the NRSC wasn’t so busy wading into contested primaries in efforts to push the conservatives out, people would give them more money. Until then we should expect to keep seeing this headline. Consider this an open thread.

On the NRSC Memo: What About Florida and Texas. And Fiorina?

I don’t know a single Republican leaning blog that got tipped off about Senator John Cornyn’s memo to the Senate Republican Conference. Brian Walsh from the NRSC just emailed to let me know he had, in fact, emailed me earlier today with a copy of the email. For reasons unbeknownst to either of us, I got one responding to the Devore press release, but no | Read More »

    About Darn Time

The NRSC has finally, finally, finally endorsed Pat Toomey in his race for the United States Senate in Pennsylvania. I’m surprised they didn’t endorse Arlen Specter. Nonetheless, it is about time and the extra money will help. Toomey had really stellar fundraising numbers in the last quarter and he will be at the RedState Gathering.
