Senator Ron Johnson Will Be At the RedState Gathering. Will You?
By: Erick Erickson (Diary) | July 18th at 04:46 AM |
In 2010, one of the few candidates the GOP establishment and conservative activists agreed on was a businessman in Wisconsin named Ron Johnson. “Crazy!!!” people said. “It’s Wisconsin. Russ Feingold!!!! Ron Johnson can’t win.” Then he got the nomination. “It’s crazy!!! He bores people with charts. He scares the old people. He actually says we need to cut spending. It’s Wisconsin!!!!” Call Ron Johnson the | Read More »
Establishment to Ron Johnson – “Get in Line”
By: Erick Erickson (Diary) | April 17th at 04:46 AM |
Last year, Senator Ron Johnson (HAFA Score 94) ran for a Leadership post (not because he wanted to be in Leadership but because he wanted to change it). Roy Blunt (HAFA Score 63) beat him. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (HAFA 76) had hand picked Senator Blunt. Even though McConnell pulled out all the stops to help Blunt, Johnson still got 22 Republican votes, which | Read More »

Forget the Presidential race. We can get back to it another day. This is the most important fight for the conservative movement in America right now and it happens next week. Well, it was going to happen in January. But conservatives started gaining momentum. Naturally, Mitch McConnell had to go try to pull the rug out from under conservatives. Welcome to the Senate. It ain’t easy, is it? Here’s the thing you need to know. Right now, you are probably telling yourself you need to be reasonable. You are probably telling yourself you need to cut a deal. David Brooks Gets Played
By: Erick Erickson (Diary) | July 6th at 09:59 AM |
It is a familiar tactic that the Democrats have used lately — say it enough times and hope someone believes it. I was traveling yesterday and couldn’t comment on the David Brooks column, but it is more and more clear David Brooks got played. The Senate majority leader, Harry Reid, has talked about supporting a debt reduction measure of $3 trillion or even $4 trillion | Read More »

First off this morning, I hope you will call Senator Ron Johnson (R-WI) today at (202) 224-5323 and tell him thank you for standing up to both Democrats and Republicans yesterday in a valiant attempt to force transparency on debt talks. Johnson declared his intend to grind the Senate to a halt by ceasing to give his consent to further Senate business by unanimous consent. | Read More »
Ron Johnson Beating Russ Feingold
By: Erick Erickson (Diary) | July 15th at 01:21 PM |
Okay, so it is within the margin of error and only one point ahead, but it is against Russ Feingold. That’s great. It is 47 to 46 in Ron Johnson’s favor. More troubling for Feingold, the polling shows that 42% of Wisconsin voters strongly disapprove of Obama’s handling of the economy with another 8% somewhat disapproving. Johnson has been steadily going up in the poll | Read More »
Conservatives Rally for Ron Johnson in Wisconsin
By: Erick Erickson (Diary) | July 14th at 09:46 AM |
A friend of mine pointed out the other day that while I endorsed Ron Johnson for the Senate in Wisconsin several weeks ago on Twitter, I never wrote about it here. Let me remedy that today by pointing out Jim DeMint, the NRSC, and me are all on the same side on this one. DeMint will be making his endorsement today. Later today and this | Read More »
