Here it comes……

Egypt.

Iranian Vessels Enter Suez Canal.

Two Iranian warships have entered the Suez Canal on their way to the Mediterranean Sea, Canal officials said Tuesday. “They entered the canal at 0545 (0345 GMT),” the officials told reporters.

Iran claimed that the warships were headed to Syria “for training.” Israel’s Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman and others called the move a “provocation”.

Iran can claim whatever they want and train wherever they will.  But if either one or both of those ships cross into Israeli waters by as little as one millimeter certified by GPS, I’m betting nothing larger than plankton-sized pieces will remain.

……and if ‘something’ is sent towards Israel without any provocation ?

Naaaaaaaah, I won’t go there.

— — — — —

The shut down continues.

Egypt’s Stock Exchange remains closed.

Cairo (AP) – Egypt’s stock exchange says it has postponed the resumption of trading on the market until next week.

The Egyptian Exchange said in an e-mailed statement Tuesday the decision was taken after consultations with the Egyptian Financial Services Supervisory Authority and brokerage houses. It did not specify a date for the relaunch.

The exchange has been shuttered since Jan. 27, after its benchmark index shed almost 17 percent in two consecutive trading sessions as massive anti-regime protests gripped the country.

Wait…… I thought everything was fixed and good to go in Egypt.  Why doesn’t the exchange open ?  I guess they need more hope for change from The MB, eh ?

=== === === === ===

USA.

Arrows Are Flying.

The Israeli Defense Ministry’s Research Authority and the United States’ Missile Defense Agency conducted a successful joint test of the Arrow anti-missile system Monday night off of the US’s west coast.

This was the 18th test of an interceptor from the Arrow “family” of anti-missile missiles. The Arrow was launched from an American test site on the West Coast, and the target – which simulates a threat that Israel may have to face in battle – was launched toward the shore from a platform in the heart of the Pacific Ocean.

The cynic in me says that at least one person in our administration classified this test as ‘an Israeli missile launch against America’.

=== === === === ===

The UN Security Council (Re. Libya).

The United Nations Security Council on Tuesday was expected to hold a consultation on the ongoing violence in Libya.

The meeting in New York, which will take place at 9 a.m. US East Coast time, was convened at the urging of diplomats at the Libyan UN mission who took a stand against their government.

Speaking in Los Angeles on Monday night, UN Secretary General Ban-Ki Moon told reporters that the Libyan violence was a “serious violation of international law” that was “unacceptable” and “must stop immediately.”

Really ?  Is that a fact ?  You don’t say ?  Whatcha gonna do Ban Ki, stamp your little feet and hold your breath until they see the errors of their ways ?

What about Iran’s treatment of their own civilians since 1979……… The daily peace-loving exhibitions against Israel……… How about the Dar…… Oh right…… The agenda…… How silly of me.

=== === === === ===

Iran.

Are you freakin’ kiddin’ me ?

Iran Condemns Libyan Government Violence.

The spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry condemned, on Tuesday, Libyan government violence against anti-government demonstrators, especially air attacks that the Libyan government has denied. Iran called the violence unacceptable.

Um…… How can I put this…… Got it…… Tain’t ’nuff black floatin’ around the universe for that kettle of Hell to call out the p-pot.

I know what it is:  Jealousy.  Iran is envious that Libya is taking away some of the spotlight.

Things are happening fast and furious.

Presenting the initial entries of today’s totally isolated and unconnected news.

Iran.

Hizbullah Army Help Iran Suppress Massive Rallies.
More than 1,000 Hizbullah terrorist army fighters have joined a huge Iranian police deployment to crush wide-scale protests that have left at least two people dead and hundreds injured or arrested.

The Islamic Republic regime in Iran has apparently decided to deploy an overwhelming army of police, Revolutionary Guards and Hizbullah members to squash the rallies. The government seeks to prevent the kind of momentum that toppled rulers of Tunisia and Egypt, and threaten kings and dictators in Libya, Yemen, Bahrain and other Muslim countries.

Foreign journalists have been barred from reporting on the Iranian demonstrations, and authorities have revoked work permits for 11 foreign journalists, photographers and cameramen for covering protests last week.

Nothing to see here !

There is no coordination anywhere in the Muslim world through The Muslim Brotherhood.

These are not the peace lovers you are looking for.

Move along.

=== === === === ===

Norway.

Norge :  Ond Jøder:  Komm seg ut.  Flytt det ambassade.  Du har en år…… Og tar de skittene Amerikanerne med deg.

The Israeli Embassy in Oslo, Norway was officially notified a few days ago that it must move to another location within a year, the Yedioth Ahronoth daily reported Monday.

According to the Norwegians, the embassy poses a security threat to its surroundings and has had a negative impact on the residents’ quality of life.

Michael Eligal, Israel’s ambassador to Oslo, sent the Foreign Ministry in Jerusalem a cable saying embassy staffers were having a hard time finding an alternate site. “Our search has been frustrating, to say the least,” the envoy wrote. “No one wants to sell us property.”  A Foreign Ministry official said the affair is indicative of a new low in Israel-Norway relations. “The authorities in Norway are capitulating to public opinion that is hostile to Israel,” he said. “They are doing everything they can to make things more difficult on the embassy.”

The City of Oslo has also forced the American Embassy to relocate to a suburb.

……and just in case you don’t remember, or haven’t heard this before:

Norway upgrades official Palestinian status.

The boost from ‘general delegation’ to ‘diplomatic mission’ is in recognition of The Palestinian Authority’s efforts to establish independent state.

The United States and Israel should immediately offer the following to The City Of Oslo and The Norwegian Government overall:  Oppmerksomhet Norge : Dra spytt opp et tau.  Du er alene, Dhimmis.

=== === === === ===

Israel.

Duck and Cover !

In Israel, it’s a way of life.

‘School kids hide under desks’.

The Knesset’s Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee held a special session in the Negev on Sunday, with the participation of local council heads and IDF Home Front Command officials.

During the meeting the council heads complained that the government was not doing enough with regards to the fortification of educational institutions in areas that are under the constant threat of rocket fire emanating from Gaza.

Ashkelon Mayor Benny Vaknin said 10 schools and 22 kindergartens in the city were not fortified until he personally raised the necessary funds in the US. “With the help of pro-Israel Christian organizations, I provided these schools with hollowed-out concrete blocks which serve as shelters. Minister Matan Vilnai promised us the State would fortify these institutions.”

I can’t comment on this objectively in any manner, because I became unemployed back in July 2010 due to our county school board eliminating – not cutting back – eliminating the capital budget for electronic security in the schools and chopping about half of the physical on-campus security personnel.

When a nation fails to protect it’s citizens, especially it’s youth, something is terribly wrong.

=== === === === ===

Egypt.

Hey everybody, it’s purge time courtesy of The Muslim Brotherhood.

Yippee !… Hooray !…… Celebration is in the air !……… Let’s par……………

Oh…………… Wait.

Egypt’s Brotherhood calls for purge of old guard.

(Reuters) – The Muslim Brotherhood, once banned and playing a growing role in the new Egypt, rejected a government reshuffle on Monday, calling for a purge of the old guard cabinet appointed by deposed leader Hosni Mubarak.

What could go wrong ?

Nothing, because it’s all a walk through the forest looking for the elusive rainbow-colored, candy-belching unicorn on his magic prayer rug soaring over the hopeychangey clouds of “Coexist” bumper stickers.

=== === === === ===

Gaza.

Hamas Changes Hospital Name From ‘Mubarak’ to ‘Al-Tahrir’.

Hamas is changing the name of a children’s hospital in Gaza from Mubarak Hospital, named for the former Egyptian president, to Al-Tahrir Hospital, named for the square where the Egyptian revolution began and culminated. The hospital, in Khan Yunis, was built in 1993, and then PA chief Yasser Arafat offered to name it after Mubarak in gratitude for this role in the peace process.

The name change was instituted to celebrate the “youth revolution” in Egypt, a Hamas official said, and to show that Hamas does not support Mubarak.

OK, so who’s buying this latest bit of taqyia ?

With it becoming clearer by the hour that The Muslim Brotherhood involved in everything going on, it’s a good bet that the hospital was most undoubtedly renamed for these folks:  Hizb Ut Tahrir.  A Shari’a-is-everything group that advocates anything goes to advance Islam and destroy infidels and Jews.

1 Dead, 57 injured In Northern Iraq Protests.

Sulaimaniyah, Iraq  (AP) — Police and hospital officials in the northern Iraqi city of Sulaimaniyah said Monday that one person has been killed and 47 wounded during overnight protests.

A Sulaimaniyah police official said that around 2,000 people took part in scattered demonstrations around the city, 160 miles (260 kilometers) northeast of Baghdad, late Sunday. Many Kurds are frustrated with the tight grip with which the two ruling parties control the Kurdish autonomous region.

Israel Survival Updates — 20 February 2011 — UN Veto Recap Part Deux — POTUS — Libya — Iranian Warships — Egypt.

The UN Security Council Resolution Veto — Aftermath Part Deux.

Article at Ynet News.

State officials said Saturday that the US veto which prevented a UN condemnation of settlement construction is not a reason for celebrations. Israel is becoming increasingly isolated from West European countries which consider settlements a red rag, one element said. The senior officials said they do not rule out financial consequences as a result of Israel’s isolation.

Sources in Jerusalem also warned of the possibility of damage to Israel and Europe’s financial relations. “It is estimated that the weekend vote will have financial consequences in relation to Europe. There are countries which already boycott Israeli goods and things may deteriorate further.

Please remember that on behalf of The United States, The Obama Administration “regrettably” vetoed the resolution and the other fourteen nations voted for it.  Along with that, U.S. Secretary Of State Hillary Clinton stated that all Israeli settlements are “illegitimate“.

=== === === === ===

Oh look…… Isn’t this just special:

US President Barack Obama told Abbas on Thursday night that no other American president has promoted the Palestinian issue more vigorously.

Ya know something ?  He’s right.

No other American president – including Jimmy Carter – has ever stood with the Muslims at this level.  It’s almost as if………

Naaaaaaah……… I can’t go there and of course…… ‘It can’t happen here.

I’d also better go on to the next news item before you click on the link and read where Hillary supposedly threatened to cut off all aid to The Palestinian Authority.   That Hillary…… What a great sense of humor she has.   Cutting off aid to The PA has about as much chance of happening as does her boss not bowing to every single puissant pestiferous pusillanimous punk of a dictator on the planet, Muslim or otherwise.

=== === === === ===

A Muslim Minister Of The Israeli Knesset, Ibrahim Sarsour, has something to say regarding the current President Of The United States and his ordered veto of The UN Security Council resolution on Israel:

“Obama can go to Hell.”

“[The veto] proves for the thousandth time that Obama is worse than his predecessor Bush in his loyalty to Israel, his bias and double standards on the Middle East conflict, and in ignoring the ongoing crimes against the Palestinian people, land and holy places,” Sarsour wrote.

Okay, now that you’ve picked up your jaw off the floor, stopped laughing and maybe even called a few family, friends and neighbors to tell them what the man said, don’t get yourself full of ‘hope for change’ in any of this.  The man is also calling for “the Arab world” to immediately financially destroy America.

But wait, there’s more.

I’m going out on a limb here that if you’ve read any number of my Israel Survival Update diaries, you already know who Minister Of The Israeli Knesset Danny Danon happens to be.   If not, think on the lines of my state’s own ‘Lt. Col. Congressman Allen West’ and you’ll get somewhat close.

“I welcome his veto and I hope that it will be the start of a new, pro-Israel Obama for the first time since he took office, though I have my doubts,” Likud MK Danny Danon said.

MK Danon, I have my doubts too…… and that’s quite possibly the most toned-downiest and civilisticness way I can phrase it.

Libya.

Some serious and deadly goings-on.

1.  Libya Is Slaughtering Innocent Civilians, Hundreds Massacred.

Pamela Geller of Atlas Shrugs has a solid compilation of what’s going on and like me, she can get ‘a tad’ emotional about it all.

The article posted from UN Watch should alarm the most cynical around the world who are saying this is not The Muslim Brotherhood at work.

2.  A link to my friends at The Jawa Report and news that the mainstream media is taking videos sent them by people literally under fire and copyrighting them to their own networks, then forcing hosting sites like YouTube to take down the videos for copyright infringement — and then never showing the videos as news.

3.  Internet’s Off.

(Reuters) – Internet service has been cut off in Libya for a second consecutive day as protesters step up demonstrations against longtime leader Muammar Gaddafi, a U.S. company that monitors Internet traffic said on Saturday.

Massachusetts-based Arbor Networks said data collected from 30 Internet providers around the world showed that online traffic in and out of Libya was disconnected abruptly at 7:15 p.m. EST on Friday after two partial interruptions earlier that day.

Somehow though, many reports are getting out – confirmed stuff, all of it.

The Iranian Warships And Whiskey Tango Foxtrot On Steroids.

1.  On again off again is once again onoffmaybenobodyknows.

Article at Ynet News:

Suez Canal authority says Iran navy ships passage delayed until Wednesday.

The passage of two Iranian naval vessels through the Suez Canal has been delayed by 48 hours, a canal official said on Sunday.

The frigate and supply ship had been due to enter the canal with the northbound convoy that moves daily at 6 am (0400 GMT) on Monday.

Will at least one adult in charge over there please make up their mind on when the ships are gonna transit ?   I want to make sure I’m home when/if WWIV begins.

— — — — —

2.  Because of the above news, I wasn’t going to post this article.  But I couldn’t let it go on so many levels, most of which centered on snarkification in extremis.  So……

What kind of stooooopid wrote this headline ?

Egypt Denies Iranian Ships Passed Through Suez Canal.

Egyptian officials at the Suez Canal have categorically denied an Iranian announcement on Al Aram TV Sunday morning that two of its warships had already passed through the canal.

The ships are allegedly the Kharg, a 33,000-ton refueling and support vessel, and the Alvand, a 15,000-ton light patrol frigate. According to a statement issued last week by the Iranian navy, the Kharg carries a crew of 250 and three helicopters. The Alvand is armed with torpedoes and anti-ship missiles.

It’s two Iranian warships.  They’re not 1/64 scale radio controlled toys.

Before openly exposing an incredible amount of writing ability approaching a Wyle E. Coyote-level of sheer genius, you’d have to be a tad daft to think the writer did not have access to at least one news report or at least one somebody – even a semi-official person – who would have a slight inkling if two hostile nation’s full-size armed ships of the line transited a 120 mile long waterway between two bodies of water, each of those large enough to be designated as a “sea”.

And people wonder why the world is coming apart at the seams ?

Oy vey.

Another day, another ‘nudge’ or fifty towards pending genocide.

=== === === === ===

Aftermath of The US veto of The UN Security Council resolution condemning Israel.

The story so far……

The United States has vetoed The UN resolution to condemn Israel.

UNITED NATIONS (AP) – The United States vetoed a U.N. resolution that would have condemned Israeli settlements as “illegal” and called for an immediate halt to all settlement building.

Then, it comes to light that……

UN Ambassador Susan Rice says The U.S. “regrettably” had to veto the measure.

US ambassador to the United Nations Susan Rice said Washington had “regrettably” chosen to oppose the resolution, sponsored by some 130 countries, after seeking its compromise measure was rejected.

Of course, we need to hear from the main players in the performance and we get that in a very long single article from The Jerusalem Post.

Palestinian officials express disappointment at US veto ; PM Netanyahu and Foreign Ministry say direct talks are only way to peace.

“The US veto does not serve the peace process and encourages Israel to continue constructing settlements and avoid its commitments in the peace process,” aide to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas Nabil Abu Rudeina said. “The veto will complicate matters in the Middle East.” Riyad Mansour, the Palestinian UN observer, called the US veto unfortunate, saying the Security Council failed to respond to the Israeli-Palestinian “crisis” and send “a clear and firm message to Israel that it must … cease all of its violations and its obstruction of the peace process. We fear…that the message sent today may be one that only encourages further Israeli intransigence and impunity,” he said.

“We seek a solution that will integrate the legitimate Palestinian aspirations with Israeli requirement of security and recognition,” Netanyahu said in a statement. “The US decision makes it clear that the only way to peace is through negotiations. We are ready to vigorously advance negotiations and are interested in beginning the process of achieving secure peace and hope that the Palestinians will join the process.”

Direct negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians has and will continue to be the only way to resolve the conflict between the two parties, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Yigal Palmor said in a statement similar to Netanyahu’s.  “The distance between Ramallah and Jerusalem is short, and all that is requested of the Palestinians is to return to the negotiating table without preconditions,” Palmor said. “Only in this way, and without appealing to the [United Nations] Security Council, can the peace process advance in favor of both parties, and in the favor of peace and security in the region.”

PM Netanyahu, here’s an unsolicited gift to you and the entire Israeli Knesset:  “Palestinian aspirations” are to kill every Jew on the planet and destroy every vestige of Israel’s existence…… and they’re actually working towards those goals, with assistance too.

……and with a tip ‘o the hat, a fine cigar and a dram of old single malt to Lineholder, we find Hillary Clinton in an interview with ABC’s bestest-evah jihad supporter Christiane Amanpour saying flat out that the Israeli Settlements are ‘Illegitimate’.

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton called Israeli settlements “illegitimate” shortly before the United States vetoed a United Nations Security Council resolution condemning continued Israeli settlement expansion as illegal.

The full Amanpour interview with Clinton — focusing on the uprisings in the Arab world, how the U.S. is redefining its strategic interests there and what she thinks this new Arab People Power means for the U.S. — will air Sunday on “This Week.”

I’m still supposed to stay toned down, remain civil and be respectful or be banned ?

Here’s today’s probably not the last and definitely not least regarding “Palestine”:

Palestinians are going to enjoy a ‘day of rage’ against America.

Now I’m confused.  I thought that was every day, every waking hour and even whilst asleep.

Palestinian leaders called for a “day of rage” Saturday in the streets of West Bank cities after the US vetoed a UN condemnation of Israeli settlements Friday.

Yasser Abed Rabbo, secretary general of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), said the Palestinians would take their resolution to the UN General Assembly.

“Our decision today is to go to the General Assembly of the United Nations to adopt a resolution condemning settlements and asserting their illegality before returning to the Security Council to present a proposed condemnation of settlements,” he told AFP.  “The American veto will not prevent us from appealing to international institutions and will not stop our desire for freedom and independence.”

Hey Palestinians, didn’t you get the memo ?  The Obama administration is on your side.

See the articles and statements above if you don’t believe me.

They voted ‘no’ for the most convoluted of reasons available, because it was a yes or no thing and there was no “present” vote allowed.

Y’all have a nice day (of rage), ya hear ?

Bahrain.

Video and link courtesy of my friends at The Jawa Report.

Be forewarned:  This is extremely graphic video footage of people violently dying at the hands of their own government.  View at your own risk.

Bahrain’s army shoots unarmed protesters.

Peaceful protesters were mowed down as they were walking, armed only with the national flag.

Peace-loving at it’s finest.

But everything’s peachy-keen now – overnight, it’s all good – because Bahrain ordered the military off the streets.

Troop removal comes after Shi’ite opposition says they will not carry out talks with Bahrain gov’t until “tanks are off the streets.”

MANAMA, Bahrain —The deputy chief of Bahrain’s armed forces ordered the military to withdraw from the streets of the capital.

Saturday’s decision came after the military opened fire on protesters trying to reach the site that was once the centerpiece of their uprising against the Gulf nation’s rulers.

Please remember, there are Saudi Arabian troops in Bahrain and our own Fifth Fleet is based in the nation.

An article from The Daily Telegraph.

Britain revokes arms licences to Bahrain and Libya.

Britain said on Friday it was revoking more than 50 arms export licences for Bahrain and Libya where security forces have cracked down on protests and several people have been killed.

The revoked licences cover items such as tear gas and ammunition that could be used to suppress demonstrations.

Could be used…… Could be ?!?

Hey UK…… Thanks loads.

Egypt And The Iranian Naval Vessels.

Yes, no, yes, no, yes, no, yes, no, yes, no……

It’s like a dime-store novel with a billion dollar and quite possibly genocidal ending.

Contradicting whatever went on about nine hours ago in the above link, the Egyptian military has NOT approved transit of 2 Iran ships.

An Egyptian source from the Suez Canal Authority said that the authority did not yet receive the military approval necessary to allow  two Iranian naval vessels to cross the canal north to the Mediterranean, Reuters reported.

The source said that the two ships neither reached the southern entrance of the canal, nor the waiting area. The source added that the approval could be received at any moment.

State-run news agency MENA had said Friday that authorities in Egypt approved the request to let the navy ships cross, after Iranian diplomats offered assurances that the two ships won’t have weapons or nuclear or chemical material.

Take this as you will.

Rights group: 84 dead in Libyan protests.

Sorry, but when the basis for reporting on what’s going on there are the organization “Human Rights Watch” and the Libyan state-run media, I’m kind of skittish about posting information as bona-fide absolute fact.

I and many others don’t trust HRW at all and it doesn’t take much to realize their agenda coincides with confirmed-as-involved leftists like Code Pink and the rest of the usual suspects as ‘assistants’ in many things going on and in bed with The Muslim Brotherhood.

As for the Libyan state-run media:  Yeah, right.

The Israeli Derby ain’t a horse race.

The Israeli Derby is an A2A missile.

It’s being sold to India for their new-line Tejas fighter aircraft – the new design upgraded from the initial 2001 configuration.

India’s new Tejas fighter will be armed with Israel’s Derby missile, according to Indian website LiveMint. The Derby is medium-range active-radar seeker air-to-air missile, that can hit targets at about 50 km. away. Missiles that can achieve this range are known by the acronym BVR – beyond visual range.

A contract for supplying the Derby will be signed by March with Rafael Advanced Defense Systems. Rafael will also fit the missiles on about 200 jets, according to P.S. Subramanya, director of India’s Aeronautical Development Agency, which is developing the light combat aircraft.  The Indian Air Force (known, like its Israeli counterpart, as the IAF) has ordered 40 Tejas fighters to be built. The Indian Air Force also wants 100 units of the Mk-II version of the fighter, and the navy wants 60 of the naval versions, Subramanya said.  India’s Sea Harrier jets carry Derby missiles. Rafael’s Python missile, closely related to the Derby, was also an option for the Tejas, Subramanya stated.

In the past decade, as the Muslim world grows more religious and bellicose, Israel has been forging ever-closer ties with natural allies that also face a Muslim threat. These include India and may soon include South Sudan.

Those last two sentences say it all.

Israel is starting to trust other nations more than America.

Turkey.

I.N.N. — Israel’s embassy in Istanbul and Consulate in Ankara closed.

Four Israeli embassies and consulates have been temporarily shut down due to a mounting terror threat, according to foreign press. Turkish newspaper Hurriet reported that the Israeli embassy in Ankara and the consulate in Istanbul are among the diplomatic missions that have shut their doors.

Ynet —Jews in Turkey fear attacks.

“Turkey is a dictatorship. They attack newspapers and there are raids against anyone who dares speak out against the government. Those who talk too much find themselves under investigation.”

A Muslim dictatorship ?…… No…… Not possible because of all the peace loving.

Snark aside, something’s telling me this embassy/consulate closing may be permanent.

Yeah, I know.  Probably not.  But it’s just an instinctive thing with me, because Turkey is steadily and purposely spiraling into full-on Islam governmental rule and they’ve been incessantly nipping at Israel’s heels since the flotilla insanity.

So why am I adding 1 + 1 and getting 11 ?

Anyway, It’s all good, because back in December, President Obama said the U.S. relationship with Turkey is ‘more important than ever‘.

But just for you-know-whats and giggles, what if Israel really is outta there ?

Turkey may be emboldened enough to try and ask/tell The US to am-scray too, because The Muslim Brotherhood has actually been the ones in charge for a while and they’re just ‘out of nowhere’ deciding to let that be known (a.k.a. El Caballo Troyano)  – and – Iran is Turkey’s new BFF – and – oh yeah…… What American nukes based in Turkey ?…… There’s no missiles and gravity weapons there…… That’s all some sort of ‘misunderstanding‘.  If there were weapons of that nature, they’ve been moved and most assuredly that was done by the evil Bush, because apartment houses have long ago been built on the former base sites and you must realize by now that peace lovers have no use for nukes at all.  So go away infidel Americans – leave our blessed-by-Allah Turkey – all of you – within 24 hours – or else – or else we’ll make him bow to us – again.

Wait…… I keep forgetting…… ‘It can’t happen here’.

Addendum:  Turkey warns U.S. ambassador over media comments.

ISTANBUL, Feb. 17, 2011 (Reuters) — Turkish officials have warned the new U.S. Ambassador Francis Ricciardone against interfering in its domestic affairs after he commented on Turkey detaining reporters despite pledging support for press freedom.

State Minister Egemen Bagis, Turkey’s chief negotiator in talks with the European Union, said the United States had itself detained reporters in the past for not revealing their sources.  “The ambassador is very new. His comments about Turkey are not linked to his knowledge and experience, but what he has heard,” Zaman newspaper quoted Bagis as saying.  “There are journalists in his own country who are in jail for not revealing news sources.”

But…… But…… I thought it was all good ?

Israel Survival Updates — 17 February 2011 — At what point does Israel simp…… Never mind.

Good Morning.

It’s 12:30am here on the east coast of what’s remaining of America and 6:30am in Israel, so we may as well start right in on today’s news.

Will enter additions as warranted, the first few in this main panel, then as separate comments.

=== === === === ===

Egypt.

Anarchy In The Sinai Peninsula.

The recent revolution in Egypt has had its effect on the Sinai Peninsula as well. Mass demonstrations by the Egyptian police have broken out in the northern Sinai in recent weeks, the Palestinian Authority-based Ma’an News Agency reported on Wednesday. According to the report, the demonstrators are protesting against their low quality of living as well as against the fact that they are forced to live in constant danger of death and kidnappings.

Ma’an reported that the demonstrators gathered in front of the security administration building in the northern Sinai and demanded that the rules of martial law cease to be applied to them, that their wages be raised and that protection be offered to them from gunmen who chased after them and burned down their homes in the city of El-Arish. They also demanded that security director Mohammad Najib and his assistant be dismissed from their positions.

The Muslim Brotherhood is playing all sides against each other, so they can ride in on their (Trojan) horse and ‘save the day’.

=== === === === ===

Washington D.C.

US seeks to tighten sanctions against Iran.

WASHINGTON – As protesters take to the streets in Tehran and the Obama administration heightens its rhetoric against Iran, the US Congress is also looking to turn up the heat on the regime.

A new bill introduced on Wednesday seeks to tighten the American sanctions regime by requiring publicly traded companies and their affiliates to report their Iranian links to the US Securities and Exchange Commission.

Sanctions against Iran.   Who’s kidding who ?

As Daffy Duck once said, “Ha ha.  It is to laugh.”

=== === === === ===

Pakistan.

Pakistan court adjourns U.S. prisoner case.

(Reuters) – A Pakistani court adjourned on Thursday without announcing whether U.S. consulate employee Raymond Davis, who shot and killed two Pakistani men last month, is protected by diplomatic immunity.

The case has triggered the worst diplomatic row in recent history between strategic allies Pakistan and the United States, and has fueled anti-American sentiment in the country.

The case was adjourned till March 14.

Lovely.  Just bloody lovely.

Where’s Team 7 when you need ‘em ?

=== === === === ===

Bahrain.

The nation is catching fire.

Riot police storm Bahrain camp ; 2 reported dead ; Square filled with tear gas clouds……

Hours after police retook control of the plaza, the tiny island nation was in lockdown mode. Tanks and armored personnel carriers were seen in some areas the first sign of military involvement in the crisis. Police checkpoints were set up along main roadways and armed patrols moved through neighborhoods in an apparent attempt to thwart any mass gatherings.

Barbed wire was put up around Pearl Square and a message from the Interior Ministry declared the protest camp “illegal.” The air still carried the smell of tear gas more than four hours after the assault.

Remember, Bahrain is where our 5th Fleet is based.

Israel Survival Updates — 16 February 2011 — Across the board, a gauntlet.

Just sit right back and I’ll tell the tale, a tale of a fateful trip, that started on my laptop here, aboard the web search ship……

Best to grab a nice beverage and a snack first though.  You might be at this for a bit of time.

Morocco.

Morocco fears Algeria may stir Western Sahara unrest.

(Reuters) — Morocco said Algeria and the Polisario Front, which wants independence for Western Sahara, may use political upheavals sweeping some countries in the Arab world to stir unrest in the disputed desert region.

[Snip to the last line of the article.]

Credit rating agencies Standard & Poor’s and Fitch have said Morocco is the least likely Maghreb state to be affected by the wave of popular unrest.

S&P, along with Fitch are blind.

But is it willful or a simple lack of understanding what’s coming ?

=== === === === ===

Algeria.

Security forces halt unrest in Algeria.

Algiers (NYT via The San Jose Mercury News) — Riot police officers stifled a protest in Algeria’s capital Saturday by hundreds of people voicing the same demands for change that have helped topple two of the region’s autocratic governments over the past month.

Witnesses said thousands of riot police officers with clubs had blocked the demonstrators from carrying out a planned march in the center of the whitewashed seaside capital, which was otherwise tense and deserted Saturday. By late afternoon, with the last of the demonstrators gone, the square was still sealed off by police officers, and dozens of armored police vehicles remained in the neighborhood.

The clampdown there is big and the government is not playing games.

=== === === === ===

Tunisia.

Tunisia extends emergency rule, ends curfew.

Tunis, Tunisia (AP via The Boston Globe) — Tunisia extended a state of emergency that has been in place since the country’s longtime autocratic president was overthrown during an uprising last month, while it ended the curfew imposed during the deadly protests, the Interior Ministry said yesterday.

The state of emergency, declared Jan. 14, forbids any public street gathering of three people or more, though that rule has rarely been enforced. It also authorizes police and security forces to use their weapons against suspects who do not turn themselves in when ordered to do so, and against fleeing suspects who cannot be apprehended.

Isn’t that sweet, it’s Martial Law Lite.

=== === === === ===

Libya.

1.  Anti-government protests spread to Libya.

Tripoli, Libya (AP via The Jerusalem Post) — Hundreds of Libyan protesters took to the streets Wednesday in the country’s second largest city to demand the government’s ouster in the first sign that the region’s unrest has spread to the Arab nation in North Africa.

Witnesses said protesters in the port city of Benghazi chanted slogans demanding the resignation of Libyan Prime Minister Baghdadi al-Mahmoudi. The crowds, however, did not appear to direct their anger at Moammar Gadhafi, who has ruled the nation for more than 40 years.

……and

2.  Riots break out in Libyan city of Benghazi.

(Reuters via Ynet News) — A crowd of people angry at the arrest of a rights campaigner clashed with police and government supporters overnight in the eastern Libyan city of Benghazi, a witness and local media said.

Libyan state television said separately that rallies were being held across the oil exporting country on Wednesday in support of Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi.

……and they’re free to do what they want any old time……

3. Libya to free 110 Islamist militants from jail.

Feb 16 (Reuters) — Libya will on Wednesday release 110 prisoners jailed for membership of banned militant organisation the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group, a local human rights activist told Reuters.

The prisoners are the last members of the group still being held and will be set free from Tripoli’s Abu Salim jail, chairman of the Libya Human Rights Association Mohamed Ternish told Reuters.

One may tend to wonder if the ‘rioters’ in the second article will become like the group in the this one, free as birds to pursue lives of rescuing cats from trees, helping the elderly cross the street, holding bake sales and ushering in actual peace loving to the region.

=== === === === ===

Egypt.

1.  New Constitution Committee:  The Muslim Brotherhood, Shari’a Law, No Women.

(UK Telegraph) — The Muslim Brotherhood leads the committee list for forming the new Egyptian Constitution, with a Shari’a Law judge named Tarek al-Bishry as the chairman.

There are no women on the panel and as some sort of a sideways token, a Muslim Brotherhood dude who’s passing himself off as a Coptic Christian was added to the list.

If you don’t remember, The Muslim Brotherhood is supposedly banned in Egypt (wink wink, nudge nudge, say no more)…… Which is why they’re going to have absolutely positively nothing whatsoever to do with anything at all in the new Egyptian Constitution.

But for some unknown reason, the resulting “Constitution” will most assuredly have all women ordered into burqas within days of adoption and the best the Coptic Christians can hope for is that they’ll be allowed to leave and emigrate to any nation that would accept them. My guess though is they’ll be officially listed as “target practice”.

Israel better get ready.  Finger-on-the-button time is rapidly approaching.  It’s also going to affect us here in America in a major way.

Think that sounds a tad alarmist ?

There’s a reason.

Before we get to ‘the reason’, I’d like to ask you a question:  Have you noticed something about the order of news articles ?

No ?

Okay, not a problem.

We’ll keep going then, with ‘the reason’ being last in line.

……and in something that comes as no surprise whatsoever:

2.  Egypt’s protests flare despite military warning.

Cairo Egypt (AP via Mr. Breitbart’s website) — Labor unrest unleashed by Hosni Mubarak’s ouster flared again Wednesday in Egypt despite a warning by the ruling military that protests and strikes were hampering efforts to improve the economy and return life to normal.

Hundreds of Cairo airport employees protested inside the arrivals terminal at Cairo International Airport to press demands for better wages and health coverage. Their protest did not disrupt flights.  In the industrial Nile Delta city of Mahallah al-Koubra, workers from Egypt’s largest textile factory went on strike over pay and calls for an investigation into alleged corruption at the factory, according to labor rights activist Mustafa Bassiouni.  In Port Said, a coastal city at the northern tip of the Suez canal, about 1,000 people demonstrated to demand that a chemical factory be closed because it was dumping waste in a lake near the city.

There’s more:  Banks, schools and universities are all still closed and Egypt’s stock market hasn’t reopened either.

US Media: They mostly all left (as in departed, not political leaning) and they’re silent unless they’re covering for our administration’s deliberately confusing stance and purposeful lack of any publicly stated real direction.

=== === === === ===

Sudan.

The southern half voted to and has seceded from the northern sector.  Needless to say, there’s been ‘some difficulties’ since the vote.

Now there’s more.

1.  Southern Sudan political leader blames Khartoum for arming rebels; death toll rises to 241.

Juba, Sudan (The Canadian Press via Yahoo News) — A top political leader in the emerging nation of Southern Sudan has accused the northern government of backing southern rebels who killed 211 people.

Macabre video showed the bodies of victims being pulled from a muddy river and piled into a mass grave.

The attack by rebel leader George Athor happened last week, and officials then said 105 people — including 30 of Athor’s men — died. But on Tuesday the toll was raised to 241, most of them civilians.

……and the caution flag is out on the track:

2.  Sudan: A Warning to All of Africa.

(AllAfrica.com) — As Southern Sudan prepares to become an independent nation in July, the northern government in Khartoum faces enormous challenges. Disputes simmer in Darfur, to the west, with more than four million displaced people. At the same time, clashes this month in the disputed Abyei region could re-ignite conflict along the unsettled border between north and south.

……and there seems to be some sort of misunderstanding – again.

3.  Sudan Government Requests “Clarifications” On Meeting Of U.S. Diplomat With Sudan People’s Liberation Movement.

Khartoum (AllAfrica.com) — The Sudanese foreign ministry has revealed on Monday that it requested “clarifications” from the U.S. on statements allegedly made by the US Consul General Barrie Walkley during a meeting with leading figures from the Sudan people Liberation Movement (SPLM).

The Sudanese Media Center (SMC) which is closely linked to the country’s National Intelligence and Security Services (NISS) reported yesterday that Walkley met with SPLM Secretary General Pagan Amum, head of SPLM Northern Sector Yasir Arman and SPLM leading figure Abdel Aziz Al-Hilu.

Walkley reportedly briefed the SPLM figures on the U.S. strategy towards Sudan which aims at “changing the structure of the Sudanese state”.

Oh goody.  Hope, change and a rainbow-belching unicorn are coming to Sudan.

=== === === === ===

Somalia.

Somalia Government Forces Fire On Demonstrators, Killing Five.

(NY Times) — Witnesses and a local government official said that at least five people were killed and an additional 10 were wounded on Tuesday when government forces fired on a demonstration against the Shabab, a radical Islamist group that has taken over many parts of the country. It is not yet clear why the government forces, which are plagued by a lack of discipline, fired on the demonstrators, and the government did not issue a statement on the violence.

Not clear why ?

Shabab is running the nation with a rifle and The Quran in both hands.

How’s that for ‘clear’ ?

=== === === === ===

Saudi Arabia (and Bahrain).

1.  Saudi Arabia sending troops to Bahrain.

(Iran Press TV) — Saudi Arabia is sending troops to Bahrain to help King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa crack down on pro-democracy protesters who took to the streets in the capital Manama, a political analyst says.  He made the remarks in an interview with Press TV on Tuesday.

Bahraini police have been using tear gas and batons to disperse the pro-democracy protesters in the Bahraini capital.  Three protesters were shot dead by police in the Shia village of Daih, which is located in the suburbs of Manama.

……and from last week, something I missed:

2.  Saudi Arabia considers matching U.S. military aid to Egypt.

(CNN Wire) — To alleviate U.S. pressure on the Egyptian army, Saudi Arabia would consider matching the estimated $1.5 billion the United States provides Egypt in military aid each year if Washington decides to cut its aid to the troubled North African nation, an Arab diplomat says.

Nothing to see here…… Move along.

=== === === === ===

Yemen.

Yemen factions clash, police lose control.

Sanaa, Yemen (Reuters via WXEL-TV here in South Florida) — Government loyalists wielding batons and daggers clashed with anti-government protesters in the Yemeni capital on Wednesday as unrest inspired by Egypt’s uprising spiraled out of police control.Police were unable to keep the two sides apart as protesters gathered for a demonstration at Sanaa University to demand the resignation of President Ali Abdullah Saleh, a U.S. ally against al Qaeda who has ruled the impoverished Arabian Peninsula state for more than 30 years.

One side playing all.

=== === === === ===

Pakistan.

Kerry tries to soothe Pakistan diplomatic dispute.

Lahore, Pakistan (AP via Yahoo News) — U.S. Sen. John Kerry promised the Pakistani people Tuesday that a jailed U.S. embassy worker will be subjected to a U.S. criminal investigation if he is released by the Pakistani government.

Kerry also expressed regret for the deaths of two Pakistani men in an apparent attempt to smooth over relations with the important ally in the war against extremists and al-Qaeda while still insisting that the American needs to be released.

I know what you’re thinking, especially if you’ve been following this ‘little incident’ since it surfaced like I’ve been – postings on it from me and a few friends are on another site to remain nameless.

I’d offer some commentary on it here at RedState, but I’d find myself in big-time trouble.

Really.

So then, it’s time……

=== === === === ===
=== === === === ===
=== === === === ===

Now that we’re at the end of today’s initial news items – “the reason” is all that remains – I’ll ask the question again: Have you noticed something about the order of news articles ?

Still no, eh ?

The ‘something’ is that all the articles are listed in geographical order, from west to east and all have coastline on either The Mediterranean, The Red Sea, or The Gulf Of Aden.

“The reason.”

IRAN TO DEPLOY WARSHIPS IN THE MEDITERRANEAN SEA AND BASE THEM IN SYRIA.

(Israel National News) — Iranian officials have announced plans to deploy warships to areas near Israel and to dock at a Syrian port for a year. Such a move would be a “serious provocation,” a senior official said. There is no justification for Iran to deploy its battleships to the Mediterranea Sea, he said, and if it does so, Israel will view the move as “a change in the situation” and “Israel will know how to deal with it.”

Iranian warships are now deployed in Bab el-Mandeb in the Indian Ocean, as part of international efforts to combat piracy, the paper reported. It cited Western intelligence officials who said that Iranian warships in the Red Sea could supply radical Islamic groups from Yemen with weapons.

Bab el-Mandeb - Red Indicator.

Translation:  Iran is already a major presence at the junction of the Red Sea and The Gulf Of Aden.  Their nation is on The Persian Gulf and The Gulf Of Oman.

Now, they’ll be in The Med.

Please think about that for a moment.  It shouldn’t take long for you to see that what I’ve long been suggesting is coming is actually on the horizon.

If you’re not understanding, maybe this will help in plain English:  Do you realize that the Muslims are moving to close off all waterborne access to the entire region in order to take out Israel, shut down Europe, cripple America and more ?

They’ve been planning for decades.  The ‘go’ moment has begun.

We’re at a nanosecond before midnight.

Now ask yourself this:  WWTOAD ?…… What Will The Obama Administration Do ?

Does anybody really know what time it is ?
Does anybody really care ?
If so, I can’t imagine why.
We’ve all got time enough to……

To……

To……

“It can’t happen here.”

It’s also not even remotely possible that somehow, some way something else is connected in any manner, right ?  I mean, it’s beyond any reasonable doubt that The Leftists and Totalitarians already in power here in America would never ever hook up with genocidal Muslims to go for the brass ring together, true ?

That would mean this couldn’t happen here either:  Obama’s assault on our domestic energy now a 4-alarm fire.

Sincere thanks to LadyImpactOhio for her encouragement and much needed assistance over the past few months.

Israel Survival Updates — 15 February 2011 — The Muslim Brotherhood, Gaza, Apples, ‘Unusual Events’ And Bahrain.

Surprise !…… Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood Seeks Political Party Status.

Cairo, Egypt (CNN) — Egypt’s banned Muslim Brotherhood will apply to become a political party, it announced Tuesday.

Muslim Brotherhood spokesperson Mohammed el-Merci.

The Brotherhood “envisions the establishment of a democratic, civil state that draws on universal measures of freedom and justice, with central Islamic values serving all Egyptians regardless of colour, creed, political trend or religion,” it said in the statement.

I’ll offer something in plain-speak so there’s no misunderstanding*:  There is no ‘Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood’, just as there is no ‘Iranian Muslim Brotherhood’ and there is no ‘American Muslim Brotherhood’…… There is only The Muslim Brotherhood.

The same goes for Islam:  There is only Islam.  Your choices:  Convert, submit, or die.

Radical Islamists ?…… Those are Muslims who want no part of the killing, violence and subjugation of others that’s laid out in their holy book.

*Misunderstanding.   Somebody mentioned that in a speech a while back.

“We seek broader engagement based on mutual interest and mutual respect. We will listen carefully, we will bridge misunderstandings, and we will seek common ground. We will be respectful, even when we do not agree. We will convey our deep appreciation for the Islamic faith, which has done so much over the centuries to shape the world — including in my own country.”

Israeli Goods Banned In Gaza.

A new set of restrictions on importing Israeli-manufactured goods into Gaza was announced on Sunday by Gaza’s Ministry of the National Economy.

Israeli-made clothing may no longer be brought into Gaza, and other items will be considered on a case-by-case basis. The measures will be in effect “until further notice.”

Entrance To The Gaza Mall (NBC Photo).

The Hamas government’s ban on Israeli clothing is apparently the result of high demand among Gazan consumers; when a luxury mall in Gaza City held its grand opening last July, prominent among the featured goods on sale was made-in-Israel men’s clothing.

Inside The Gaza Mall (Ynet News Photo).

Question:  Why would Israel sell anything to Gaza ?

Answer:  “Cant we all just get along ?”

Comment: That’s a major part of the mindset of liberals in power, media and education – If Jews are nice to Muslims who are hell-bent on genocide, the peace lovers will actually become peace lovers.  Yes, it’s that simple of an explanation.

An apple a day keeps the jihad away.

Israel Exports ‘Bumper Crop’ Of Apples To Syria.

For the sixth year, Israel has authorized the export of apples grown on the Golan Heights to markets in Syria. This year’s “crop,” at 12,000 tons, marks the largest amount of apples that have crossed the border at Kuneitra.

The apples are grown by Druze farmers in the Golan, many of whom have taken Israeli citizenship – but the apple story is more about taste than politics. Syrian consumers have long considered Golan apples to be delicacies, and as a result, a deal was worked out between farmers and fruit wholesalers to export the apples from Israel to Syria. This is currently the only commercial venture between the two neighbors. Israeli officials have heartily approved the deals, while Syria, bucking to consumer demand, has turned a blind eye.

Take my comments from the previous news item and replace “Gaza” with “Syria”.

One thing though.  Syria has not ‘turned a blind eye’.  They’re laughing loudly while opening their wallets to receive the jizya from all sides.

=== === === === ===
=== === === === ===

So that’s what they’re calling it now.

Because of “a number of unusual events”, Israeli Embassies are increasing security and four may be closed.

Foreign Ministry officials on Tuesday reported that security at four Israeli embassies abroad has been increased to the maximum level following “a number of unusual events against Israeli locations.”  In addition, the Foreign Ministry said that the four embassies were at risk of being closed due to the threats aimed at them.

The ministry did not specify which embassies it was referring to but representatives in Jerusalem said they have contacted the necessary officials throughout the world.  “At this point we estimate that a threat exists against the [four] locations and it is being dealt with,” the Foreign Ministry said in a statement. “The relevant Israeli authorities are in contact with the relevant authorities in the countries in question.”

Why do I get the sinking feeling our own administration is gonna co-opt the term and make it official…… “Unusual Events”.  That’ll be the designation between “Man-Caused Disaster” and “It’s Bush’s Fault”.

=== === === === ===
=== === === === ===

Bahrain.

Bahrain’s Day Of Rage becomes two days and there’s at least two deaths.

Thousands of protesters in Bahrain are filling a main square in the Gulf nation’s capital as Egypt-inspired demonstrations gripped the country for a second day.

Bahrain protesters take control of main square.

Security forces appeared to hold back as the crowds poured into Pearl Square in Manama. The dramatic move Tuesday comes just hours after a second protester died in clashes with police in the strategic island kingdom, which is home to the U.S. Navy’s 5th Fleet.

Just another isolated incident…… Nothing to see here !

Israel Survival Updates — 14 February 2011 — Thomas Friedman — Iran And The IAEA — Palestinian Authority — Jordan — FLOTUS Has A Rabbi For A Cousin.

Hi.

Popped in an update as a comment below.  Seems as if The First Lady Of The United States Of America has a cousin named Capers Funnye and he’s a Rabbi.  He also has a request of his cousin’s husband.  Click here or scroll down into the comments to see what I’m on about.

NY Times Columnist Thomas Friedman blames Israel for Obama’s response on Egypt.

Columnist Friedman Slams Israel’s Stance On Egypt.

NY Times Columnist Thomas Friedman.

He said that during the crisis the Israeli approach was to attempt to convince the Obama Administration to support Hosni Mubarak against the protesters calling for his ouster as Egyptian president, and to say “Look at us! Look at us! We told you so! We are the only stable country in the region, because we are the only democracy.’’

Freidman slammed the government for, on the one hand, saying Israel is Washington’s only reliable ally because it is a democracy but contradicting this by saying “whatever you do don’t abandon Mubarak and open the way there for democracy.’’

The journalist said that Jerusalem’s concerns about the peace treaty with Egypt being upheld are valid and understandable but that their behavior concerning the upheaval in Egypt is not benefiting Israel.

Typically bitter and still clinging to The Jihadist At 1600™, eh Mr. Friedman ?  That’s about as much as I dare to say, because anything else would be ‘a tad more intense’ and we here at RedState attempt to be civil, toned down and alw……… You disingenuous hypocritical lying sack of leftist garbage !  How are you able to look at yourself in the mirror ?  The time will come when the lot of y……… Good day sir !

Iran.

IAEA head affirms Iran ‘steadily’ enriching uranium.

Mr. Yukiya Amano, Director General Of The International Atomic Energy Agency.

Iran is steadily producing enriched uranium despite the 2009 Stuxnet worm, International Atomic Energy Agency Director-General Yukia Amano told The Washington Post in an interview published on Monday.

The IAEA chief told the paper that the agency is concerned “over the possible use of nuclear materials for military purposes – in the past and perhaps now.” He said that the Iranian regime has well over 3,000 kilograms of enriched uranium and continues to stockpile it contrary to UN Security Council resolutions to that effect.

Amano, however, admitted that the international nuclear regulatory agency doesn’t have much expertise in estimating when Iran might be capable of building a nuclear weapon. “What we are doing is [tracking] how much enriched uranium they have,” he said.

Translation:  We know what they’re doing, but we haven’t a clue what they’re doing and we can’t stop them from doing it or not doing it.  So we’ll keep making all those points simultaneously as loudly as possible, while blaming Israel, BushPalinBeck and The Tea Parties for all the ills in the world.

Palestinian Authority.

PA Cabinet Resigning, Fayyad To Appoint New Ministers.

The Palestinian Authority’s cabinet ministers will tender their resignations Monday and Prime Minister Salam Fayyad will select new ministers in their stead. The shake-up is being carried out at the request of PA chairman Mahmoud Abbas, political sources told international news agencies.

The shake-up was “long demanded by Fayyad and by some in Abbas’s Fatah faction,” according to Reuters. It is perceived as part of a domino effect in the Arab world, following the Tunisian and Egyptian rebellions. A similar move has been announced in Jordan, as well.

Change, but no hope other than violent death, destruction, slavery of citizens and the pending genocide of a people.

=== === === === ===
=== === === === ===

Jordan.

In case you missed the last sentence of the Israel National News article above, Jordan’s King Abdullah II replaced his cabinet five days ago.

Jordan’s king swears in new Cabinet.

An official US State Department photograph from the 60th anniversary celebration of US-Jordanian ties.

AMMAN, Jordan (AP) — Jordan’s King Abdullah II swore in a new 27-member Cabinet on Wednesday in the wake of Egypt-inspired protests in his desert monarchy.

The reshuffle followed protests by thousands of Jordanians who had demanded jobs, reduced prices of food and fuel and a change to an election law that they say gives government loyalists more seats in parliament.

The new Cabinet includes holdover ministers, leftist unionists, a former member of the Muslim Brotherhood, Jordan’s largest opposition group, and a prominent activist for women’s rights.

Look, I can understand Jihadists appointing the left, union goons and the rest, but a “former” member of The Muslim Brotherhood ?…… King Abdullah II appointed a dead guy ?

We should get a caption contest going on that photo.

Here’s my entry:  “A little more to the left and slower.”  ;)

Algeria.

Algerians Defy Protest Ban.

Algerian government shuts off all internet access.

For the geographically challenged, Algeria is on the north coast of Africa and the nation west of Tunisia, which is past the tipping point and east of Morocco, a nation quickly building to the tipping point.

But none of that’s coordinated by the peace-loving Muslim Brotherhood. No. Not any of it.

In Sanaa, Yemen, an estimated 2,000 protesters called to oust the government. The protesters were attacked by pro-government mobs armed with knives and clubs.

Protesters accused security forces of doing nothing to stop the attack.

Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh has promised to resign when his term is over in 2013. However, as happened in Egypt, demonstrations calling for his immediate resignation have continued despite his promise to relinquish power in the future.

Meanwhile a top aide to President Mahmoud Abbas says the Palestinians will hold presidential and legislative elections by September, an apparent response to the popular protests that drove Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak to step down late Friday.

“A strong Egypt would have a greater capability to support us now and in the future,” the senior Palestinian official said Saturday.

The debaters for this topic:

Pro — Mr. Lawrence J. Haas, American Foreign Policy Council — V.P. Gore’s Press Secretary and point man for Obama getting Peter Orzag confirmed as OMB Director.

Con — Professor John B. Quigley, Ohio State University — Formerly of Moscow State University.  Yes, that Moscow.  He was also a visiting professor at the University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

Oh baby, that’s an equal-time and balanced duo if I’ve ever seen one.

My gut instinct told me to find out who these gents really were before I read one word of the article.  Took me a while to stop laughing after I was done.

Israel Survival Updates — 10 February 2011 — Joseph’s Tomb Reopens — Israel Is On Her Own — Drill Baby Drill.

Good morning and a special ‘howdy ho’ to all at CPAC.

Three Cabinet Ministers Visit Refurbished Joseph’s Tomb.

After having been destroyed by Palestinian Authority vandals, the newly refurbished Joseph’s Tomb structure was dedicated last night in the presence of three Cabinet ministers.

Joseph’s Tomb – once in a field outside Shechem (Nablus), and now surrounded by new, already slum-like homes in the expanding city – became an official Israeli Holy Site under the auspices of the government shortly after its liberation during the 1967 Six Day War. Its status changed, however, in 2001, after the Oslo Accords granted the Palestinian Authority control of the city of Shechem. This did not include Joseph’s Tomb, but the PA created “facts on the ground” by conquering the site. During the battle, wounded IDF soldier Madhat Yusuf was allowed to bleed to death; the Israeli commanders preferred to believe the PA promises that he would be rescued, rather than send in IDF forces directly.

Israel has retained official control over the site, in accordance with the Oslo Accords, though it has been able to exercise it only in coordination with the PA. Visitors to the holy site dwindled over the years; Jews visited only either clandestinely or four times a year in army-organized midnight visits.

Peace lovers full of hope and change.

White House Fudges On Whether It Would Save Israel.

White House Spokesman Robert Gibbs would not pledge to guarantee Israel’s security if its existence is in danger, in a Wednesday press briefing. In reference to recent Middle East turmoil, he was asked: “If Israel is threatened by any of these new governments or Hamas and Hizbullah, if its existence is in danger, would the US come to its assistance?

Gibbs answered: “Regardless of the situation facing any government in the region, our friendship, our partnership and our alliance with Israel is unchanged.”

The man was asked a direct question that had a yes or no answer.

He answered ‘present’.

Israel is on her own.

Nation-wide drill simulates terrorism, public disturbances.

The Israel Police has launched a nation-wide security drill simulating terrorist attacks and large-scale public disturbances. The exercise is aimed at testing ground units’ first responses to various emergency incidents, police said.

Police are drilling their responses in unpopulated areas to prevent disruption to the public, though heavy police traffic and sirens will be apparent in some areas, police added. On Wednesday, outgoing Police Insp.-Gen. David  Cohen said his forces were ready for “any possible scenario in the country” during a tour of the Ashdod police station.

Does ‘any possible scenario in the country’ include a simultaneous attack from all sides by peace lovers and complete abandonment by The US Government ?

Israel Survival Updates — 9 February 2011 — UK: Israel is belligerent — Halt all aid to Egypt — UN Security Council — Iron Dome.

Good Morning.

Are we having fun yet ?

British Foreign Secretary Hague (seated – center) urges the Jewish state to tone down its ‘belligerent’ language in the wake of the uprising in their neighboring country.  ‘This attitude means efforts at peace could ‘be a casualty of uncertainty in the region,’ he warns.

“Amidst the opportunity for countries like Tunisia and Egypt, there is a legitimate fear that the Middle East peace process will lose further momentum and be put to one side, and will be a casualty of uncertainty in the region,” Hague said in an interview with The Times en route to Jordan.

He added that “part of the fear is that uncertainty and change will complicate the process still further. That means there is a real urgency for the Israelis and the United States. Recent events mean this is an even more urgent priority and that’s a case we are putting to the Israeli Government and in Washington.”

FS Hague, sveetie, dahlink, come sit down, have a glass tea and listen to bubbe.

Comfortable ?

Tea not too hot ?

Good.  Now getcher schnozz outta our bidness, fershtay ?

Former IDF Chief of Staff Shaul Mofaz:  US should halt all aid to Egypt and……

Israel needs to re-examine the true readiness of the Obama administration to stand behind it’s commitment to the governments of Israel and the extent of its willingness to honor its obligations that were achieved in strategic dialogues between the two countries.”

“The United States must clearly define, without vacillating,” its relation to the Middle East, he added.

Mr. Mofaz, it’s kind of obvious to most sane people that The Jihadist At 1600™ has put the bulk of his cards on the table.  If you’re gonna raise him, best not be with a bluff.

Oh yeah, this’ll fix everything real proper-like.

The UN Security Council may pay a visit to The Middle East.

The Russian ambassador to the United Nations has proposed that Security Council members go on a mission to the Middle East. Topping the agenda would be Israeli-Arab negotiations and the turmoil in Egypt and elsewhere.

Here’s an idea:  Israel should greet the traveling party with the next news item – operational and looking for a reason.

The first two batteries of the Iron Dome system must be stationed in southern Israel as soon as possible.

The lawmakers wrote in their report that should their recommendations be applied all across Israel, the country would be well protected from short-range rockets and perhaps even medium-range rockets.

Israel Survival Updates — 8 February 2011 — Ritalin OTC — IDF wants tech geeks — Robert Gibbs says ‘alles klar’.

First, the kids purposely get dumbed down and indoctrinated to liberalism.

Now Israel says it’s okey-dokey to drug ‘em down too.

Israel National News has the story.

The Ethics Committee of the Medical Histadrut (Federation) determined Monday that it is permitted to sell Ritalin (Methylphenidate) without a doctor’s prescription.

Ritalin is a psycho-stimulant drug approved for treatment of attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). It is in widespread use in Israeli schools, where it is most often administered to boys.

At what point do sane people ri……… Never mind.

IDF enlisting uber-geeks.

IDF Spokesman Avi Benayahu said Tuesday that the army is currently in the process of enlisting “new media fighters”.  Benayahu told a panel on the subject of “the digital medium as strategic weapon” that the army was searching for “little hackers who were born and raised online.”

“We screen them with special care and train them to serve the state,” the spokesman told the panel, which was part of the Herzliya Conference.

“…to serve the state” ?

I wonder how many of the junior zombies on Ritalin are being hired to program the system and the total quantity of trap doors they’ll put in without management’s knowledge.

Oh yeah, this next bit gives me a huge jolt of confidence.

US looks to reassure Israel as protests roil Middle East.

WASHINGTON – As domestic turmoil sweeps moderate Arab countries and emboldens Islamic groups across the Middle East, the US assured Israel Tuesday that it was attentive to its security concerns.

“Regardless of the situation facing any government in the region, our friendship, our partnership and our alliance with Israel is unchanged,” White House spokesman Robert Gibbs told reporters.

Unchanged – Yessum.  Your boss’ owners ordered him to abandon Israel and he’s doing it.

Fajr, Rasad, Zafar and Amir Kabir.

Referee and assistants for a soccer match ?…… Oh nay nay.

Law firm ?…… Hardly.

Top talent agency then ?……  Maybe for ‘splodey dopes.

Consultants ?…… In an odd sort of high-tech way, yeah.

Fajr, Rasad, Zafar and Amir Kabir are four ‘research’ satellites from Iran .

Iran says it has built four new domestically produced satellites as part of a space program that’s worrying other nations.

State TV showed President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad unveiling the satellites _ Fajr, Rasad, Zafar and Amir Kabir-1 _ on Monday at a ceremony in Tehran.  State TV described them as research satellites but did not provide details. Iran says it has launched at least two satellites and has none in orbit now.

Nothing to see here.  The satellites are only for research.  Just because all four will triangulate at approximately 31.6 Lat. x 35.0 Lon. doesn’t mean a blessed thing.

Did you know many kollej perfesserz think Hamas is ‘moderate’ ?

Israel National News writer Hillel Fendel has the story.

How to respond to Ivory Tower demands to talk with Hamas.

With professors demanding that Israel negotiate with “moderate” Hamas, Janet Doerflinger of Campus Watch explains why they’re wrong.

Hamas is a terrorist organization – so designated by the U.S. State Department, the European Union, and others – that is responsible for the deaths of hundreds of Israelis and calls unabashedly for the destruction of Israel. Despite this, a host of university professors in the U.S. and Europe continue to make public statements in favor of Israeli negotiations with Hamas.

Misunderstanders.

That’s what Hamas is.

They just don’t ‘get it’.

Israel Survival Updates — 3 February 2011.

Hi.

Was backed off for most of the day.  Serenity granted, tone lowered, even spent a few hours watching a gummy-bear-cr***ing Unicorn on a multi-colored prayer rug flying carpet have a butterfly guided voyage over the rainbow and much more to settle myself.

Still though, no matter what I do, the news finds me.  I don’t look for it.  But worse, as much as I try to tone it down and be civil, the highly dangerous snarkaholic in me comes out.  I can’t stop it and no, I don’t want to hear about the 72-step program offered in all 57 states.  That simply doesn’t work for me.

Here’s what’s on the board right now:

— — — — —

Whata shocka.

Muslim Brotherhood: We’ll cancel Israel treaty.

Deputy leader Rashad Al-Bayumi of Egypt’s Muslim brotherhood declared, on Thursday, his movement’s intention to cancel Egypt’s 1979 peace treaty with Israel. Interviewed by Japan’s NHK television, Al-Bayumi said the treaty harms Arab honor and the interests of Egypt and other Arab states. He added that cancellation of the treaty would be one of the demands made of a temporary government after the ouster of President Hosni Mubarak.

Al-Bayumi said the Muslim Brotherhood’s hostility toward the United States is based on U.S. support for Israel and Egypt does not need American financial aid.

Oye, amante de paz – maniaco genocidio:  Vaya saliva arriba una cuerda.  Usted quizas sea un lenador, pero usted no es bueno.

=== === === === ===

Q. – So then, exactly what is Obama’s commitment to the Egypt-Israel peace treaty ?

A. – It’s exactly what his owners will tell him it is.

Here’s State Department Spokesman (and Center For American Progress Senior Policy Advisor) PJ Crowley to explain via an article at Israel National News:

“Well, obviously, when a new government is formed, it will have to review its policies with regard — its foreign policy, which would include its policy with its immediate neighbor, Israel,” Crowley began.

“Egypt has been a leader in the peace process. It has been an anchor in the peace process. We would value and welcome Egypt continuing to play that role. We hope that the new government will follow that policy.

Oh goody, we’ve got a new campaign slogan:  ‘Hope for no change’.

=== === === === ===

Nobody ever said these things worked in only one direction.

Tunnels being used to smuggle goods out of Gaza.

The tunnels under the Philadelphi Corridor between Gaza and Egypt, used in the past to smuggle arms and supplies from Sinai into Gaza, are now an important lifeline of supplies for Sinai residents facing acute shortages because of the turmoil in Egypt, the Lebanese daily Al Akhbar reported Thursday.

According to the paper, which supports Hizbullah, traders in control of the tunnels have “been working for days” smuggling bread and food in the “opposite direction” – from Gaza into Egypt – because of “supply disruptions” from Cairo to the Sinai.

I’m sure it’s only completely peace-loving items passing through the tunnels this time.

After all, it’s only the three-quarter crazies who are trying to avoid the full-on genocidal maniacs.  Beyond that, there’s nothing to see here.

It’s not close to even remotely possible that the Muslim Brotherhood could be using the tunnels in coordination with Hamas and Hizbollah right ?  We’ve all been told over and over and over by the media (between their trips to the emergency room) that The Muslim Brotherhood is doing everything completely out in the open to gather signatures on petitions, register people to vote and participate in the upcoming September elections and peacefully become the new government structure in Egypt…… and Lebanon…… and Tunisia…… and Jordan…… and Syria……and Yemen…… and…………

=== === === === ===

We’ll end the main news today on somewhat of a biblical note……

Detectives from the Nahariya police station searched a suspect’s private home Thursday for suspected illegal weapons, but instead of guns, they found a large hoard of ancient coins dating to Second Temple times, as well as other assorted ancient artifacts.  The coins appear to have been collected from numerous sites over a long period of time.

The police handed over the coins to the Crime Prevention Unit in the Israel Antiquities Authority, whose investigators will inspect the treasure trove and question the suspect regarding the places at which he found them. Police did not make clear whether the suspect will be charged with theft of antiquities.  The house searched is located in the Arab village of Mazra’a, near Nahariya. A relative of the suspect who was at home when police arrived said that the coins belong to his father.

The left:  A few trinkets and some loose change from ‘back in the day’ don’t compare to what was being actually sought.  If this guy would have even one old half-broken totally rusted and non-working evil scary-looking gun, he’d be in real trouble.

=== === === === ===

Remember that to the average person and especially those on the left and in the media, it’s ‘only’ Israel and ‘only’ the Jewish people’s literal existence.

No biggie.  American Idol is on anyway.

Also…… It can’t happen here.

Israel Survival Updates — 2 February 2011 — Mubarak Has 48 Hours To Live — Four Israeli Journalists Arrested — Major Riot In Tahrir Square — CNN’s Anderson Cooper Assaulted.

Please remember to not take your eyes off their prize(s):  Their goal is for The Muslim Brotherhood to officially run it all as one entity – Egypt Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, etc. – The Islamic World with Target 1 being Israel and all Jews ; Target 2, America and Americans.

Because I don’t have a rang ‘stress relief center’ on the property, it’s snark for commentary time here at ‘The It’s Not OK Corral’.

I’m thinking Mr. El Baradei must be misunderstanding something about Islam because he’s threatening to kill someone.  That never happens in the Muslim world.  Ever.  Right ?

Israel National News article and video link at Mr. Breitbart’s website:

Video here:  ElBaradei: Mubarak A Dead Man Walking.

Egyptian uprising idol Mohammed ElBaradei has ordered Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak to leave the country by Friday or he will be a “dead man walking” and not just a lame-duck president.

The aging Egyptian leader, reportedly suffering from cancer, insists he will remain in power. He said Tuesday night, “This dear country is my country … and I will die on its land.”

Yes sir, Mr. Mubarak, that you will.  Your very own theocratic nightmare of a book guarantees that will happen if you go even slightly against the true believers.

Note to the unenlightened…… They’re gonna ‘off’ Mubarak anyway.  No doubt in my mind.

Wait a sec…… Egyptian Idol ?

I knew it.  Just like the TV show here, it’s a pre-determined outcome based solely on image forced on the public and perceived marketability.

— — — — —

Jerusalem Post:

Mubarak supporters break human chain, flood Tahrir Square.

CAIRO — Pro-Mubarak demonstrators were tearing down anti-Mubarak banners that have decorated Cairo’s Tahrir Square for three days Wednesday afternoon. Tanks on the periphery of the square were starting to move in anticipation of unruly crowds.

Protests in Tahrir Square have been mostly peaceful since Sunday, but the crowds have also been entirely anti-Mubarak. Thousands of the Egyptian president’s supporters were streaming into the square now waving flags and giants posters of the 30-year ruler of Egypt.

Just a matter of timing before they really start loving peace on the streets of Egypt.

— — — — —

Israel is finally going to begin doing something about the politically motivated threats to their nation and a really good guy is leading the way:

Knesset House Committee Investigating Leftist NGO’s.

The Knesset’s House Committee approved two parliamentary inquiries into leftist non-governmental organizations on Wednesday.

One committee, headed by MK Danny Danon, would examine “the involvement of foreign bodies and states in funding activities against the state and attempting to acquire its land.” The second, headed by Fania Kirschenbaum, would probe “overseas funds and states funding Israeli organizations that participate in the delegitimization of IDF soldiers.”

Two hints for Israel’s Knesset:

1. You’re not going anywhere close to deep enough.

2. Y’all definitely heard of them before, but I’d suggest ‘em as a starting point: “J-Street”.  Definitely a ‘leaning-to-port’ NGO.  Not only do y’all need to investigate them, you might want to bring in some of the Mossad passport people right from the start…… Hey, I’m just sayin’.

Cheers !

It’s all about what’s coming to Israel – with America next – and if you don’t get it now, forever hold your peace (lover) and move on to something else.

US diplomat to meet with Mubarak.

Awwwww, isn’t that sweet.  He’s from the US government and he’s there to help.

A veteran US diplomat sent to Egypt to gauge the turbulent situation there will meet with President Hosni Mubarak, The New York Times reports.

Frank Wisner, a former ambassador to Egypt who knows Mubarak, landed in Cairo on Monday, and the US believed it would be “useful” for him to meet with the president directly and get his perspective, State Department spokesman Philip J Crowley told the paper.

PJ Crowley again speaking for America – Soros’ boy.

Such a nice benign first sentence, eh ?   That was so chock-full of hopeychangy Skittle-sh***ing unicorn dreams, I had to actually stop myself from registering as a Democrat.

This is how the first sentence in the article should read: ‘Obama sends whacked-out leftist Carter flunky who’s also a former US Ambassador To Egypt and the former vice-chair of the US Gov’t-owned AIG Corp. back in-country to tell the infidel Mubarak he must step aside or be beheaded, because the order from the guys who run the Jihadist-At-1600™ says it’s time for ‘real’ Muslims to take the reigns.

Give a look into this guy Wisner over at WikiPedia – yeah, I know – WikiPedia.

Article at Israel National News:

The Muslim Brotherhood’s Message is The Same As Hamas: Kill Jews.

Many Western analysts agree that the Muslim Brotherhood and Hamas are one and the same. One leading Brotherhood cleric has said: “Kill Jews – to the very last one.” A Brotherhood takeover of Egypt would strengthen Hamas in Gaza.

Another Brotherhood leader told an Arab language newspaper Monday that Egyptians “should prepare for war against Israel.”

In plain-speak for the ‘it can’t happen here’ crowd:  The Muslim Brotherhood is the home office for all the true believers – including something called The M.A.S., The Muslim American Society and another one called C.A.I.R. – The Council On American Islamic Relations.

Op-Ed at Ynet News.

Obama’s shortsightedness might change the world order by serving Iran’s interest – which is to change the regimes in the regional countries that are still moderate. Not to mention a situation in which there is a nuclear Iran, and the United States is completely out of the Middle East.”

His name is Eytan Gilboa, a professor from Bar Ilan University in Israel.  He’s one of the nation’s top ‘students of America’.

Preofessor Gilboa, I’ll propose substituting two words in your statement and all will be much clearer.  The words to take out are “shortsightedness might”.  Replace them with the words ‘complicity will’.

One more thing Professor, it’s not Obama all by his lonesome.  It’s the entire executive branch of the current US government.  The unelected.  The ‘Czars’.  Obama’s bosses and string-pullers, including those outside of America.

How’s that hope and change workin’ for ya now ?

Israel Survival Updates — 31 January 2011 — Israel And America Are The Targets.

Hi.

First up, something pretty cool, then we’ll go for the ‘you’d better tool up’ news.

The State Of Israel And The European Space Agency Sign Revolutionary Agreement.

A video report and article from Israel National News.

A first of its kind agreement on cooperation in Space Research and Exploration was signed between the Government of the State of Israel and the European Space Agency – ESA.

The signing ceremony was held as part of the Sixth International Ilan Ramon Conference. Ilan Ramon was Israel’s first astronaut and he was killed in the Columbia Shuttle explosion. His widow Rona attended the ceremony.

The latest agreement follows similar agreements between Israel and the French and Italian space agencies.

I’d post up the video to Mel Brooks’ “Jews In Space”, but I haven’t the slightest idea how to embed video files and right now, I’m way too ‘edgy’ for figuring it out, because……

Courtesy of my friend Janet at The Jawa Report a little ‘see, I told you so’ moment:

CNN’s Nick Robertson speaks with some of the “Democracy seeking” Muslim protesters who have nothing but genocidal remarks to offer him.

And just so you don’t think the above is some sort of one-off, here’s an article from The Jerusalem Post:

Anger starting to focus on Israel, USA.

Saturday’s optimism on the streets of Cairo for imminent political change gave way to anger on Sunday, as thousands of demonstrators became increasingly frustrated with the lack of response from major world leaders, especially the US.

This is going already ugly, getting beyond dangerous and a whole bunch of nudges shoves are on the way from all sides.

If I were you – and I’m not – If I were you, I’d pay real close attention to the protests happening around our nation and who’s attending them.  The ANSWER Coalition is among the organizers of ‘get togethers’ on the streets of America in support of anarchy – they want The Muslim Brotherhood to ‘win’ in Egypt and get rid of the US-Israeli-backed regimes.

This is from Jim Hoft at Gateway PunditIn case your are not sure about this radical group’s intentions… They are the same organization that is holding protests in support of the Marxist Chavez regime on February 2, the anniversary of his regime’s assault on the people of Venezuela.

Israel Survival Updates — 29 January 2011.

Okay, it’s back.

Too much of too much is going on and the peace lovers along with the rest of the anti-Semites world-wide are ramping up in all directions.

— — — — — —

If you’re new to seeing this, I once made an attempt doing daily updates here on RedState regarding the trials and tribulations of Israel’s survival as a nation and the Jews as a people, with their hearts, souls and literal existence as full-bore targets of seemingly every nation on Earth.  Many would say that includes the current U.S. administration.

Won’t link to the previous six parts on this main panel – will save that for a comment below at a later date.

I’ll try and add news items daily, but no promises this time.

Every update addition is in the form of an added comment – the original diary entry stays as-is, but a quick note and links with the update headlines will be entered up top here.

As for the here and now, let’s start with something that occurred on 22 January and almost nobody noticed.

Tariq Ramadan, c’mon down !  You’re the next contestant on “Visa Approved, Welcome To The United States”.

The administration has now decided to lift the ban and possibly allow both Ramadan and South African Muslim activist Professor Adam Habib onto American soil. State Department spokesman Philip Crowley told reporters that the government no longer views Ramadan or Habib as representing threats to the United States.

You may recognize the name Phillip Crowley, State Department Spokesman.  That’s PJ Crowley, Senior Policy Advisor, The Center For American Progress.  Same guy.

Okay, so before I go over the line and y’all accuse me being a peace-lover-hater, I did some in-depth research and found out there’s two separate and distinct Muslim Brotherhood organizations.

One of the groups is a full-on 12th Imam, Shari’a-is-everything, kill all Jews and infidels, blow up the world set of lunatics – the bad guys in the black hats.

The other Muslim Brotherhood organization is apparently where Mr. Ramadan hangs his chapeau…… His Muslim Brotherhood group rescues kitties from trees, bakes cookies for school fundraisers and helps elderly ladies cross the street.

And I’m absolutely sure that The Muslim Brotherhood in America (known as The Muslim American Society) is 100% comprised of the latter group and has absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with The Muslim Brotherhood organization which started and continues to fan the flames in Lebanon and Egypt with full backing from Iran.  We owe Mr. Ramadan and his Muslim Brotherhood group a deep bow and apo……

What ?  I can’t get a tad snarkified regarding one of the most dangerous and genocidal peace lovers on the planet ?

Either I get snarkified, or some mot…… Oops !  Tone and civility.  Be respectful or be banned.  Must remember that stuff.

Apparently Americans have been misunderstanding all of this for way too long.  President Barack Hussein Obama said so early on in his term.

Fox News report:

Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) — Eliminate all military aid to Israel.

Paul explained his position in an interview with CNN on Wednesday, saying he respects Israel as a democratic nation but feared funding an arms race in the Mideast. His proposal drew a swift response from Republicans and Democrats.

“We share Senator Paul’s commitment to restraining the growth of federal spending, but we reject his misguided proposal to end U.S. assistance to our ally Israel,” said Matthew Brooks, executive director for the Republican Jewish Coalition, in a statement Thursday. The organization counts several former senior Bush administration officials on its board of directors.

Rep. Nita Lowey, the top Democrat on the House Appropriations subcommittee that oversees foreign aid, said the United States cannot renege on its commitment to the only Democratic nation in a dangerous region.  “Using our budget deficit as a reason to abandon Israel is inexcusable,” Lowey said in a statement. “It is unclear to me whether Rand Paul speaks for the tea party, the Republican Party or simply himself. I call on all those who value the U.S.-Israel relationship to make it clear that our nation will not abandon our ally Israel.”

I’m not going to offer commentary on any of this.

Not one word.

No way.

I’d definitely not be respectful in the slightest.

Whoops, my bad.  They ain’t talkin’ about Israel.

Paraguay has recognized a “free and independent” Palestinian state within its 1967 borders, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Friday.

The South American nation thus joins a wave of other regional countries that include Brazil, Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Ecuador, Peru, Guyana and Uruguay.

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and his foreign minister, Riad Malki, welcomed Paraguay’s decision. The two issued a joint statement stressing the special relations between Paraguay and the Palestinian Authority.

OK terrific.

Got any idea what they’re gonna produce ?  How about pharmaceuticals.  Yeah, drugs.

Not a clue how I missed this back in early December.

December 7, 2010 – Reuters:

The new National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences would do some of the dirty work that pharmaceutical companies cannot or will not do, by taking promising but uncertain basic scientific findings out of the test tube and finding ways to use them to treat people, NIH Director Dr. Francis Collins said.

From today, January 23 2011 – San Francisco Chronicle:

Whether the government can succeed where private industry has failed is uncertain, officials acknowledge, but they say doing nothing is not an option. The health and human services secretary, Kathleen Sebelius, sent a letter to Congress on Jan. 14 outlining the plan to open the new drug center by October.

Creating the center is a signature effort of Collins, who once directed the agency’s Human Genome Project.

The current Executive Branch of The United States Government – Barack Hussein Obama, Cass Sunstein, John Holdren, Kathleen Sebelius, Dr. Donald Berwick and the rest of the Eugenicists, population controllers and death panelists in the administration – They’re now running a pharmaceutical company.

Naaaaaaah, those folks listed would never even remotely consider doing research and development of anything whatsoever directed toward eliminating diss………

Repeat after me: “It can’t happen here”.

I’d better stop now or I’ll get seriously ‘edgy’ from all the ‘nudging’.

The House cannot allow funding for this.  Not one thin dime.  Ever.

What’s needed here is extreme vigilance in the form of real Congressional oversight and citizen activism 24/7/365 on whoever is involved in this NCATS monster.  Because you damn well know when/if The House actually does deny funds, a ‘nudge’ in the form of an exec order or presidential memorandum will be issued to simply fold it all into HHS using part of their existing operating budget.
