I heard they had an earthquake there……. Kind of a bad one too.
The UN didn’t forget though….. Especially the command and control part. The humanitarian end always takes a back seat with the one-worlders, especially in a nation they continue to keep down, impoverished and enslaved, with civilians in true peril begging for whatever might be offered (except for that nation’s elite people of course).
http://news.theage.com.au/breaking-news-world/new-drugs-blow-to-haiti-aid-effort-20100210-nqrl.html
The W.H.O. (ed. World Health Organization) stopped Tuesday providing free drugs to private clinics and NGOs in Haiti after reports patients were being charged, potentially dealing a big blow to the already stumbling aid effort.
This followed distressing scenes of hungry survivors rubbing their bellies and shouting desperately on Monday after the UN suspended food supplies to some 10,000 quake survivors in the capital when fake coupons were discovered.

“Only public hospitals are going to continue to receive the drugs for free,” WHO spokeswoman Marie-Agnes Heine told AFP. “All others will have to pay.”
===================
What do you mean you didn’t know The UN suspended some food distribution ?
Read: http://www.news.com.au/world/haiti-aid-effort-hit-by-fake-coupon-scam/story-e6frfkyi-1225828225454
THE struggling aid effort in Haiti was hit by another setback today as the UN halted deliveries to some 10,000 quake survivors after discovering that fake coupons were in operation.
An agitated crowd of around 100 people continued to wait well into the afternoon at the drop-off site close to the town hall in the Port-au-Prince suburb of Petionville as others clamored to get tickets valid for today.
“We need food!” one old lady shouted at a guard charged with manning the steel bars blocking the entrance to the town hall offices.
Others simply pointed to their mouths and stomachs.
————————
Whiskey Tango Foxtrot ?!? Literally a few hundred thousand people died during a blink-of-the-eye moment in time and all within a few square miles….. Food coupons ?!? Many people there don’t have pockets to put the coupons, let alone a place to go to eat.
Pay for meds……. Who’s gonna pay for the meds, the people ?…….. um……… er………. PAY WITH WHAT ?!? The people in of Port au Prince and close-surrounding areas have nothing, some less than nothing. The s.o.b.’s that were charging for meds, food coupons and anything else should have been summarily shot on sight. Period. There. I said it and I don’t care what it makes me seem to be.
This is insane……….and what resembles the Haitian government is still looking for their own cut of the goodies still coming into the airport.
===================
A quake-damaged Haitian supermarket collapsed in the capital with several people inside and rescue crews were working to pull them out, a site supervisor and rescue workers said.
“There were looters inside the building,” Meir Vaknin told AFP, referring to the Caribbean Market store. “I was trying to get rid of them and when the building fell there were some of them inside.”
He estimated five to eight people had been in the building, and said at least one was spotted alive inside.
————————
The people inside were looking for anything resembling food and/or things they could use to survive. People tend to get desperate and delusional when their entire world crumbles around them and stays that way for a few weeks with no relief in sight and their own ‘government’ not giving a whit what happens to anyone other than themselves.
Yep, The United Nations is definitely where to turn for help during a disaster of Biblical proportions……. If you want to make the disaster worse, that is.

To me, “consensus” seems to be the process of abandoning all beliefs, principles, values and policies. So it is something in which no one believes and to which no one objects … There are still people in my party who believe in “consensus” politics. WASHINGTON (AP) — The U.S.-based lawyer for one of 10 American Baptists charged with child kidnapping in Haiti appealed Tuesday for Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton to personally intervene in the case.
Attorneys for detainee Jim Allen said in a letter to Clinton that they are concerned their client may not have adequate legal representation and has not been able to speak with his wife, Lisa, since being arrested in the aftermath of a devastating earthquake.
They said the case was complicated by the chaotic situation in Haiti and asked Clinton to speak directly to Haitian authorities about letting the families of the detainees talk with them to ensure their well-being.

Too long to write the entire e-mail, but to summarize: 1) UN(mostly French)/ USAID were hostile & anti-American to the military 2) had aid flights stacked up to Miami, while allowing news teams to land 3) pulled security off rescue teams so the Clintons could have a grand tour 4) food & water at the airport was guarded, none released to the rescuers. This is just a few of the things mentioned in the e-mail, but enough to make you want to throw up. BTW, Kenny, keep speaking out, I find your diaries/comments informative & refreshing.
That's all been verified.

Just heard from a doc who’s down there….. he went on a radio show my friend Joyce hosts…… He’s saying the Red Cross is non-existent in the areas he’s working…… The airport and downtown Port-Au-Prince.
If anyone feels like helping, please do so…… Getting info isn’t easy and verifying it is harder.

This business of asking starving children for a visa before bringing them to the safety of the United States or DR is appalling.

Health crisis in Haiti enters a deadly new phase.

Port-Au-Prince, Haiti – AP
Fourteen-month-old Abigail Charlot survived Haiti’s cataclysmic earthquake but not its miserable aftermath. Brought into the capital’s General Hospital with fever and diarrhea, little Abigail literally dried up.
“Sometimes they arrive too late,” said Dr. Adrien Colimon, the chief of pediatrics, shaking her head.
The second stage of Haiti’s medical emergency has begun, with diarrheal illnesses, acute respiratory infections and malnutrition beginning to claim lives by the dozen.
And while the half-million people jammed into germ-breeding makeshift camps have so far been spared a contagious-disease outbreak, health officials fear epidemics. They are rushing to vaccinate 530,000 children against measles, diphtheria, tetanus and whooping cough.
snip
Violence bred of food shortages and inadequate security is also producing casualties. Dr. Santiago Arraffat of Evansville, Ind., said he treats several gunshot wounds a day at General Hospital.
“People are just shooting each other,” he said. “There are fights over food. People are so desperate.”
snip
At a Save the Children clinic west of the capital, about 30 people stood in line for help. Camp residents subsisting in part on plantains from an adjacent grove said two adults and five children died of starvation there last week. A clinic doctor, Nermie Augustin, said she was seeing a lot of infants with diarrhea.
=====================
I’m not gonna get into the desperation/violence part…… I can’t. I get too emotional.
However, am I the only one who thinks something is a tad amiss on the medical end ?…….. The U.N., W.H.O. and others are vaccinating children and adults who’s immune systems are at best “strained” from weeks of spotty or no substantive nutrition and the vaccines can possibly make many of them deathly ill. I’m praying the ‘officials’ are aware of that little fact and get the people back into condition well enough to withstand vaccines.
————-
Call me a cynical bastage, I don’t care….. But I’m guessing it’s getting close to the time for our Dictator In Training Pants to get his “I was there” photo op.
If he goes, everything and everyone trying to help people down there will be frozen in place hours before arrival, during his ‘visit’ and a bit of time after he leaves.

Port-Au-Prince, Haiti (AP) – A pre-dawn rain shower soaked tens of thousands living in rudimentary shelters in Haiti’s capital Thursday, an alarming taste of the havoc a sustained tropical downpour could wreak on this earthquake-ravaged country.
Rain collapsed cardboard shacks and soaked clothing and bedding at the Marassa 14 camp, where about 2,500 earthquake-displaced people live in a dry riverbed. People scrambled to shore up leaks.
Most of the estimated 1.2 million people that the U.N. says are living in temporary camps across Haiti dwell in simple structures made of bed sheets and plastic sheeting. Officials warn that more permanent shelter must be had before the rainy season begins within weeks.

…..and what resembles a government in Haiti still has it’s hand out….. for a massive cut of all aid sent before they’d even consider letting even a microscopic amount of it get to the people.
The UN is a major part of the problem as well, because they continue to acknowledge and enable evil. As to what America will do…… Ha !…… Obama’s looking more and more as if he truly doesn’t care about people from non-Muslim lands.
The people of Haiti haven’t a clue that they may be able (let alone know how) to rise up themselves and stop their enslavement.
When things break loose there – and it’s coming – the earthquake will seem mild in comparison.

Foreign aid workers in Haiti are paying locals US $5 a day to clear rubbish off the streets in a scheme that recalls a great Australian school yard tradition – the emu parade.
One month after Haiti’s devastating earthquake, miraculous stories of survival amid the ruins are giving way to more mundane concerns, such as getting locals into jobs and cleaning up a country teeming with scraps and plastic bottles.
The so-called ”cash-for-aid” program hopes to tackle both challenges together in the early stage of a recovery plan that has an ambitious goal to eventually put more than 200,000 people into temporary work.

Ooooh, boy. Nothing could go wrong with this at all…….. Naaaaaaah. It’s all good.
