What’s the big deal with bombing Iran?
Can anyone tell me where it is written that we can’t bomb Iran? Listening to the Obama administration you’d think the mullahs had some sort of halo of invincibility protecting them from cruise missiles and 500 lb JDAM bombs. Our military has sent more than its fair share of terrorists to Hades and the Iranian leadership with its unchecked nuclear program, covert war against American soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan and threats to wipe Israel off the face of the map is just begging for some kinetic military action.
It’s not like we haven’t been tearing up the Muslim world for the past 10 years. We’ve started full scale wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and launched hundreds of attacks at targets in Yemen, Somalia, Pakistan and Sudan. Even appeasement inclined France caught war fever when they let loose their military — all 700 of them — on Libya. If we can unleash the dogs of war against all these other Islamic countries, what makes Iran so special that it gets a free pass?
Taking out the Iranian nuclear program would not only be in American interests, but in the interests of the world, whether they know it or not. Should the mullahs succeed in developing a nuclear bomb it is far more likely that they will load it into a back of a truck and drive it to Moscow, Berlin or Paris than strap it to a missile and hit America halfway around the world. Israel will remain vulnerable to Iranian attack, which is all the more reason to take the fight to the mullahs’ doorstep.
It is time for Obama to put aside the teleprompter, class warfare and endless campaign and make the tough decision that is expected of an American President. Then at least he can accomplish one decent thing before being voted out of office in 2012.
