The Worst Part

Jerk

I’ve been thinking about the Kanye West/MTV VMAs incident.

As much as it pains me to say it, last night I and most people who talked about it missed the most important point:

Kanye West, in a fit of jealousy and anger, took away what should have been one of the highlights of a nineteen year old girl’s life. VMAs don’t matter to me, but Taylor Swift was clearly thrilled to have won.

Forget rudeness. Forget the low-class behavior. Forget the awful grammar.

Kanye stole a young woman’s moment of pride and happiness.

for intentional infliction of emotional distress (and a whole lot more).

Will be interesting to see if she sues.

I doubt it. I had never heard of her, but she’s probably too classy to sue.

    Thank you.

for as much as Kanyes apology is worth, I think he gets how much of an a$$ he was last night. You know it is few and far between where someone who said what he said in the past apologizes after this, well, I most certainly think he got the point. You know me, I am the last to defend this “gansta”, but its nice to see the following day, he understood what a stupid idiot he looked like.

Did you see Beyonce’s face, I am pretty sure she did not appreciate that one bit and the booing, that was good to hear.

This from a 2007 MTV article:

If he hasn’t already, Kanye West should really win something for his “That’s two years in a row!” tirade backstage at at the 2007 MTV Video Music Awards. How about Best Meltdown While Wearing a Tuxedo? Or maybe Most Unnecessary Outburst During an Awards Telecast?

Perhaps that’s thinking too small. At this point, Kanye has sort of become the Dominique Wilkins of award-show temper tantrums
