MEMBER DIARY

They lied to you. They keep lying. They’ll continue to lie.

The Democrats told us that they wouldn’t grow spending and increase deficits the way the Republicans under Bush did. They told us all their wild spending schemes would be deficit neutral. They told us they would not raise taxes on incomes under $250,000.

They lied.

First they broke their promise not to tax incomes under $250,000. “That’s for families. We’ll raise taxes on individuals earning more than $200,000.”

Then they broke their promise to not increase deficits with a “Stimulus” plan that broke the record for all spending bills, while refusing to figure out a way to pay for it. That “stimulus” was supposed to promote private sector growth (it has only grown government) and was supposed to keep unemployment below 8% (currently at 9.7%).

Then they broke their “deficit neutral” promise by passing their Health Care Takeover bill, promising it would reduce the deficit (it actually increases it). They passed so-called “Pay-Go” legislation, requiring increases in spending to be offset by spending cuts or revenue increases elsewhere, but spending bills continue to be passed with no offset.

The Democrats covered it up in populist language. They used words and phrases like “Change you can believe in “, “relief”, “claw-back” and “reform”. They sold a bill of goods to America but lied about the cost and lied about what was in it.

And it appears the Democrats will go to any length to prevent us from seeing the truth: That they have no intention of following any promise they made about fiscal responsibility while on the campaign trail in 2006 and 2008. The “most transparent Congress in history” has obfuscated, hidden the truth and outright lied about its spending programs, and unless we vote them out in November, they’ll keep right on going.

Democrats in Congress are blaming the Republicans for not passing an extension to Federal unemployment benefits. Hundreds of thousands of out-of-work Americans won’t be getting a check because the Democrats don’t want to make the hard choices of cutting spending or raising taxes. Yet the Democrats are blaming the Republicans.

All the Republicans are doing is this: Force the Democrats to live up to the promises and the “Pay-Go” rules that the Democrats themselves enacted after criticizing the Republicans’ spending while on the campaign trail in 2006.

Granted, the Republicans needed to a wake-up call to cut their free-spending ways and force a return of the spendthrift grassroots of the GOP. Unfortunately, the country is in a much worse place with the Democrats in power. Claiming spending increases would actually save money, the Democrats arrived in Washington on a mission: To ensure a “Progressive” hegemony for decades to come.

Fortunately for the Republic (but not necessarily the GOP), this massive increase in spending awakened the American people. We came out first by the tens, then by the hundreds, by the thousands, and on occasion by the hundreds of thousands to protest the irresponsible actions of this Congress and the President. We protested at Town Hall meeting, we protested in the city squares and parks throughout the nation and we protested in the streets of the nation’s capital. We made sure that our voices were heard in every corner of the Republic.

We were called racists for opposing the socialist plans of the first Black president (and it is socialism, despite what many say). We were called “astroturf”. We were called “angry, middle-aged affluent white men”. We were called in various ways uncaring, unsympathetic troglodytes. When none of that stuck, their allies in the media used sexual innuendo to describe us as “teabaggers” and giggled openly during live broadcasts as some protesters unknowingly took the slur as a semi-official name.

Yet we keep on going.

Now is when we must be strongest. We musn’t lose faith. We can’t slow down. We must keep going, pushing ever harder toward making right what the Democrats have done wrong. We can’t allow ourselves to be fooled by pretenders to the mantle of fiscal responsibility.

The Democras say we’re moving in a new direction and we can’t turn back now. In reality, they never turned the wheel and stomped on the accelerator.

We don’t need a “new direction” because we know the right direction. We started heading the right direction in 1775, 1776 and 1787. We’ve tried to move in that direction more recently, only to have the wheel turned back toward where we came from: The powerful State, crippling the liberties of the individual.

We must take our stand here: This far and no farther. We make that happen in November. We make that happen in every primary where a fiscal conservative wins over a free-spending statist. We make that happen in every town hall and every campaign event where a politician’s feet are held to the fire of fiscal responsibility. We make that happen with every person we awaken from the impossible dream of the benevolent nanny-state government providing for our needs. Because that dream always becomes a nightmare. A nightmare of the State dictating our lives to us, eliminating freedom and placing us in a servant caste to the needs of the all-powerful State and the dictation of those who rule.

Remember November and never forget the cost of losing vigilance against those who would take our liberties. Remember November and know that any promise made on the campaign trail is oft forgotten inside the corridors of the Capitol. Remember November and realize that “freedom” means more than a flag, more than a statue, more than a passage in a history book. Remember November because if we don’t, it may be the last stand for individual freedom in the modern age.

It’s the difference between what is right and what is wrong. Labels have a way of obscuring that fact.

My hubby is fond of a saying, “there’s nothing worse than a thief and liar” because, to him, they’re the same thing. Lies are used to steal something just as much as somebody reaching out and taking something that isn’t theirs just because they want it.

Knock doors. Walk your precinct. Become a member of your party central committee.

Be nice and inviting to your Democrat neighbors – they will respond to nice they are not seeing elsewhere. At this point many of them are 30% on our side.

Knock heads on the party committee when you get there with your vote.

Leave the Louisville Slugger at home when when you walk the precinct.

Take it with you when yo go to the party committee.

when I was “greeted” by a guy outside the polling place on June 8th. He asked if I was a Democrat and I said, “no.” He asked if I was an Independent and I said, “no.” So, he said Republicans had to enter through the other door (all the way around the other side of the building). I just played along with him and laughed and then proceeded through the doors. When I came out I asked if he was okay, as the sun was beating down right on him. And, I offered to bring him a bottle of water from my car. I know, that was a little much for a guy who had hassled me; but, I knew I had nothing to lose by showing him that even a Republican can care about a fellow citizen. So, he was laughing and so was I as I headed to my car.

that is why there will be a flip of 80+ seats in the House. What the Democrats neglected to pay attention to is that Americans voted OUT Republicans BECAUSE OF their spending spree and when Democrats said “we won’t do that” they gave them a shot and of course they not only went on a spree they INCREASED 100 fold the amount for their spree.

This election is going to be about CONSERVATISM with the people’s money as much as an indictment on Democrats!

Campaign ads showing MAObama and the Dems speaking the lies, followed by the actual result being the opposite, are absolutely crucial this year.

Only one problem: which lies are the most outrageous and dangerous? Campaign ads need to be focused, and not everyone might find Lie A as outrageous as Lie B.

The above lies on the deficit and taxes are of course mandatory: there are many others.

A recent lie from MAObama is a fine example of his technique: promising to control the border and to hire more officers, but then quietly cutting the hours of the Border Patrol, so that the actual result is less security.

Or: “We have been on the oil spill crisis since Day 1 !” And deliberately refusing skimmer ships and technology which could have prevented much of the pollution from spreading, deliberately throwing red tape around (e.g. stalling the few skimmer ships to inspect them for a couple days, refusing to suspend the Jones Act,: ask Jindal for more examples) to slow down the resolution of the crisis.

Why? Only 2 answers: either complete incompetence or to prolong the crisis for a long-term goal of banning off-shore drilling as too dangerous.

“You can’t let a good crisis go to waste.” One of the few true things spoken by this administration.

Funny how a few months ago the media thought the TEA party movement would die down and momentum would be lost prior to November. That’s not exactly happening is it?

In 4 short months, the polling sites will never have seen so many conservatives come running through their doors!

to pay for the extension of unemployment benefits.

Republicans want it to be paid from the ~$4 Trillion sloshing around in the Federal Budget. There’s plenty there. The gluttony must stop.

one of the tenants of marxism is to alter the history of the people so they soon forget why they are who they are. yet ANOTHER LIE was perpetrated on the American people this past week when the “anointed one” took it upon himself to change the history of the Statue of Liberty so that it conveniently represented his viewpoint on immigration reform. DO NOT BE DECEIVED. they will say, twist and lie their way to make it look like they are the ones who have brought this nation to greatness. conversely, they are the ones taking it down the path to destruction.

if you are a parent or a teacher, please, for the sake of our nation, teach them the TRUTH about our founding fathers and the great history of our country. with the liberals altering the history books daily and filling the media with LIES and deceiving statements, we MUST stand for truth before it is wiped away forever, and we become that which we have fought for for 234 years – an oppressed slave state that is controlled by the few in power to do their bidding. Now is the time. This is the place. WE are the people.

    Happy Birthday to the Republic.

every conservative who fancies himself a “political activist” puts on the top of his priority list actual participation in Get Out The Vote efforts that then also lead to a permanent presence, month after month, at his local GOP committee meeting, with the end goal being eventual full voting status WITHIN the Party as a full-fledged precinct committeeman eligible to vote for the Party leadership and eligible to vote in bylaws-authorized candidate endorsement votes. As I wrote about here. Not just writing about it. Not just talking about it. But actually DOING it.

Mr. Breitbart has the visual performance.

I have a feeling TOTUS was part of the festivities, If not, then it was simply Mr. Krugman’s personal microchip implant programming code JournoList talking points memo.
