Intemperate Thoughts III
By: Frederick (Diary) | July 26th at 05:17 PM |
Last year, I posted a listing of “Intemperate Thoughts” that occurred to me over the Independence Day weekend. They were generally random thoughts of politically-incorrect musings brought about by my daily interaction with socialists, progressives, liberals, conservatives, libertarians and the ever-indefinable “independents”. It was well received and so a few months ago, I followed up with some more intemperate thoughts. Well, I’ve been building up | Read More »
Georgia Right To Life crosses the line in criticism of Karen Handel
By: Frederick (Diary) | July 22nd at 06:08 PM |
From the diaries by Erick. Georgia Right To Life has taken issue with Karen Handel‘s candidacy for the Republican nomination for the Georgia Governor’s race, but Handel isn’t taking it lying down. In a release yesterday on their website, GRTL took direct aim at Handel over funding the Fulton County Commission provided to Planned Parenthood. Mrs. Karen Handel is not pro-life, regardless of her statements to the contrary | Read More »
Yes, Democrats, please make this election about jobs
By: Frederick (Diary) | July 21st at 08:43 PM |
Democrats are planning to push “Job Creation” this election season. Yeah, we’ve heard that one before. Right before the massive, do-nothing stimulus package was passed. The same stimulus package that now has to be paid for–with job-killing tax hikes. Yet Democrats are poised to make this election about jobs: A retooled jobs initiative, which Majority Leader Steny H. Hoyer (Md.) on Tuesday dubbed the “Make | Read More »
There is nothing wrong with profits
By: Frederick (Diary) | July 6th at 06:27 PM |
(h/t The Other McCain) When distilled to its core, the purpose of a business is to provide for the economic well-being of its owners. A business might have a particular method of generating revenue, such as next-day shipping or providing home mortgages or making soft drinks, but at its core the purpose of a business is to make money for its owners. Don’t tell that | Read More »
They lied to you. They keep lying. They’ll continue to lie.
By: Frederick (Diary) | July 2nd at 12:45 PM |
The Democrats told us that they wouldn’t grow spending and increase deficits the way the Republicans under Bush did. They told us all their wild spending schemes would be deficit neutral. They told us they would not raise taxes on incomes under $250,000. They lied. First they broke their promise not to tax incomes under $250,000. “That’s for families. We’ll raise taxes on individuals earning | Read More »
America and soccer: The unfamiliar sport
By: Frederick (Diary) | June 14th at 07:37 PM |
Why doesn’t America accept the World Cup Soccer tournament as other nations? According to taxpayer-funded NPR and its partner, liberal magazine rag The Nation, it’s because we’re all a bunch of racists and because the U.S. Teams aren’t any good at it. So sayeth Dave Zirin: Every World Cup, it arrives like clockwork. As sure as the ultimate soccer spectacle brings guaranteed adrenaline and agony | Read More »
Turkey divided over flotilla violence
By: Frederick (Diary) | June 7th at 06:46 PM |
Turkey is divided over the Israeli Flotilla incident last week, according to the Wall Street Journal. Opposition leaders and news organizations have questioned the government’s handling of the fallout, questioning the motives of politicians even before the event. Opposition politicians and some newspaper columnists have expressed concern that the government has been riding public anger at Israel’s actions. That, they say, puts at risk Turkey’s | Read More »
In triumph, when our cause is just
By: Frederick (Diary) | June 5th at 05:50 PM |
(h/t THE right scoop) I had the opportunity to attend the Douglas County (GA) Tea Party, but opted to not go. Douglas County is on the opposite side of traffic-burdened Atlanta from me, and the event started just one hour after work. Today, I found out that I should have braved I-285’s daunting traffic corridor. At the end, I’d have been treated to this:
Liz Carter gets in, impresses candidate forum
By: Frederick (Diary) | June 3rd at 06:40 PM |
Liz Carter got her chance to appear at the Georgia 4th Congressional District candidate’s forum, after all. Liz, one of four Republican candidates, had been told she could not attend the event (see earlier RedState coverage here). A flood of calls, messages and tweets to Jim Welcome and Maynard Eaton, the event’s organizers, combined with bad press, convinced them to permit Carter into the forum. | Read More »

No, Liz Carter, this is for black candidates only
By: Frederick (Diary) | June 2nd at 01:22 PM |
Liz Carter will not be permitted to speak at a Candidates Forum for Georgia’s 4th District tonight. Not because she’s a Republican, or for any other reason than because she is white. The following notice went up on her facebook page earlier today: Just informed “Black Candidates” Only Tonight” So because I’m white I’m not invited to participate even though it is a Democrat and | Read More »
