D-Day Mystery Solved 67 Years Later

My husband, Vincent E. Baker, landed on Omaha Beach on D-day and fought as a forward artillery observer through VE-Day. Even then he didn’t get to come home because he was appointed military mayor of Reid, Austria.

    That’s a neat story. My Dad was supposed to be in D-Day, but he wanted to get into action earlier, so he transferred to a unit that landed in Naples and fought in Italy for the most part. I loved hearing his war stories growing up.
