Vermont?

Ok besides the fact that I cannot figure this state out.  And Thanks to those of you who helped me to figure alil out recently with comments of a different post.

Bernie Sanders- He is up for reelection in 2012. Can we get him, and could he get a moderate Dem challenge him in the primary? He usually runs in the primary but declines the nomination. Are there enough liberal minor third parties to run nominees against him, and will hurt him?  Could Governor Douglas beat him? And on to Governor Douglas, how conservative would he be? Susan Collins, Richard Luger? Certainly no Jim DeMint?

Thanks hope y’all can answer my questions.

    when he can.

But the next five commenters on here are going to say how they’d never vote for him because he’s too moderate, and they expect a Jim DeMint candidate to win in the Republican primary and beat Sanders.

Sanders should easily win reelection. This will be his last term. There is no “moderate” Democrat who would challenge him – All of the Vermont legislature is very liberal (more like Leahy liberal rather than Sanders liberal).

Does Bernie Sanders do more good for the Dems or the GOP?

I would argue that it is actually a tougher question to answer than one would think. The guy is absolutely bat s*** crazy. The only thing more valuable to the GOP from an elected Democrat was if Sheets Byrd was still alive and still a practicing KKK member.

I’m almost inclined to allow the Dems to have a socialist caucus with them because he keeps the base the Dem base absolutely cuckoo and which causes them to be easily ticked at their Dem congressman for not voting like Bernie.

Douglas enjoys bashing Dems? And is that a pro or a con here?

Douglas enjoys bashing Democrats when he can (like Brown) (Unlike Collins & Snowe who love voting for Democrats)…but will inevitably have to vote his state, which will be quite liberal.

There are a lot more promising candidates in more promising races in more promising states. I would rate the VT senate race as the lowest priority.

Of course if you live in VT I do not begrudge you to put time and effort into this race, but I don’t think it should matter to any conservative outside of the state.

Take the opportunity when and where it presents its self.
