My dearest Redstate: Gamecock announces sabbatical from 3.0

Would like to read his 2.0 blog during vacation

(including not only Directors and frontpagers, but especially fellow commenters and users that along with me have made Redstate a force in GOP politics over the past few years)

If any Director (or employee thereof) of my beloved Redstate locates my blog (which contains vital information for the book proposal I am trying to write for the book about my 2000 conservative epiphany after 18 years an activist SC Dem Party official) please forward via e-mail.

Redstate has been a huge part of my life in developing as a conservative Republican and my writings here were instrumental in reaching my goal of being a columnist for a major newspaper.


I have a lot going on right now in my life due to the real estate credit crisis and so need to remove the stress of watching my beloved favorite website of all time suffer so.

I would love to be part of the solution. Maybe even the “face” that would provide timely, candid answers to complaints, especially those from long time loyal commenters.

    I don’t think the site is suffering, but going through growing pains.

    As I mentioned elsewhere, if you think this is bad, try switching to Office 2007! Especially when the luminaries of IT spring it on you right before a board meeting, and you have to search 5 minutes to even decipher how to print something!

    Enjoy your sabbatical, but remember we expect GC to man the ramparts with the rest of us as we face the Divine One!

    I don’t believe you :-) I suspect as the campaign heats up that you sir shall be popping in….it’s an addiction don’t you know…enjoy your couple of weeks/months but I suspect and expect to see you shortly.

    the rooster’s crowing every day? Your wit, good humor (most of the time), intelligence and fierce patriotism are always a pleasure to see here. As with so many others who have left, only to return sooner than predicted, I’ll miss you–but hopefully not for long. See you around the water cooler here, if I can ever find it.

    Seriously, good luck. I’ve got two book manuscripts in the final stages, a couple publishers have thrown up their hands at least five times, so I know how you feel. This credit/real estate hiccup too will pass.

    Don’t be a stranger–delighted to have shared my early experiences here with a fellow GC. And thanks for all your help and mentoring with the nuts and bolts of this place.

    Will miss your crowing and acerbic, pithy insights but understand your frustration. Haven’t posted or diaried much ’cause, being the tech weenie that I am, I’m having trouble following all the machinations.
