Examining AP terrorist Observer-ations

Originally published by Mike gamecock DeVine as Legal Editor for The Minority Report and Law and Civil Rights Examiner for Examiner.com

The Foghorn from the Associated Press uncorrected by The Charlotte Observer:

MUMBAI, India

Security forces assaulted a Jewish center in Mumbai where Muslim militants were believed holed up with possible hostages today, with black-clad commandos dropping from a Indian helicopter as sharpshooters opened fire on the five-story building.

The Leghorn:

The “militants” didn’t attack the military. They intentionally attacked unarmed civilians, killing over a hundred. They are terrorists.

The Foghorn:

Well-coordinated strikes by gunmen starting Wednesday night left the city shell-shocked.

The Leghorn:

“Gunmen” are men bearing guns. The word is meaningless in distinguishing between the good gunmen and the bad gunmen. Yes, AP, “good” and “bad” are acceptable, indeed essential, words, especially in this context. Men bearing guns that intentionally fire upon innocent civilians and/or take them hostage, are terrorists.

Finally, more uncorrected AP Foghorns, also in my local Dead-Tree Drive-By:

The Foghorn:

BAGHDAD The long, costly story of American military involvement in Iraq moved closer to an end Thursday when Iraq’s parliament approved a pact that requires all troops to be out in three years, marking the first clear timetable for a U.S. exit since the 2003 invasion that ousted Saddam Hussein.

The “invasion” and “military involvement” were, respectively: a liberation and total victory.

The Foghorn:

The vote followed months of talks between U.S. and Iraqi negotiators that at times seemed on the point of collapse, and then days of dealmaking (sic) between ethnic and sectarian groups whose centuries-old rifts had hardened during the first four years of the war.

The Leghorn:

The ethnic and sectarian rifts hardened during Saddam’s brutal dictatorship. They softened as President Bush stayed the course to win over the trust of the Iraqi people after we betrayed them in years past. Staying the course made an intel-driven surge success possible.

The Foghorn:

The war has claimed more than 4,200 American lives and killed a far greater, untold number of Iraqis, consumed huge reserves of money and resources and eroded the global stature of the United States, even among its closest allies.

The Leghorn:

Saddam slaughtered in cold blood a “told” number of innocent Iraqis over 400,000 and started two wars with neighbors that cost ober 1.5 million lives. The stature of the United States is that of the greatest nation on Earth, ever, no matter the opinion of leftist “journalists” around the globe.

The media is mostly vile. I have seen reports on the Mumbai attacks that have used the proper terms for terrorists, albeit usually from the mouths of the survivors of victims.

Drive-By Media can spew fog. TMR can leg it out.

there is still a WAR ON TERROR going on!

They are not in a military, they hate US/Westerners as much as they hate Israel and they will kill US AND ANYONE IN THEIR WAY…..so The Messiah will not end it! These are ANIMALS they are born and bred to HATE this way and you cannot TALK TO IT you MUST KILL IT! and OBTW it is NOT the policies of the United States that BREEDS it. It is their own countries with their tiers of just RICH AND POOR….you see you ignorant leftists that is true CLASS WARFARE….here in these United States of America there truly is HOPE to move up in the world…in their countries they will always be POOR and they HATE and ENVY US for it and they will KILL US for IT!

Just another example of a lie from the MSM to people with historic amnesia. In my lifetime the world has responded with violence toward the US during the JFK, LBJ, Jimmy Carter, and Bill Clinton Presidencies. In these other parts of the world they really do not care which US political party is in power. To them the US is satan, and they will kill citizens of the US every time they have an opportunity.

I want to go all nuclear every time I hear the MSM claptrap coming back at me from the mouths of my progeny. Tonight talking about the status of deployment of a Marine staff sergeant in our family. Daughter says my guess is that if Eric deploys now that it would be Afghanistan and not to Iraq “especially with Obama elected.”

Sigh. So I said, well, nothing to do with “Him”, but could be right about Afghan more likely than Iraq since troops are leaving Irag and have been for months now, which I am sure she has no idea of since all her news is from guess where. And other stuff about the latest terror attacks, British response to terrorist immigrants and now they are de facto exporting terrorism, a 2-year old rescued from execution by a nanny, how it doesn’t matter “where” the terrorists came from we just need to lock them up or kill them because they are trying to kill “us.” How the Isreali people are very different in their response to terrorism because they have experienced it and fought against it for centuries. And so on.

The only way either of my daughters ever know what is really going on in their country or in their world is if I tell them it about it. Truth. It’s not a thankless job because someday when history reveals the true facts they will thank me for not letting them be totally in the dark. Maybe they will remember how “grandma” always seemed to disagree with the people on the TV, and they’ll teach their daughters that just because it’s on TV doesn’t necessarily mean it’s true. TV says we have to stop the war in Iraq and grandma says we have to win the war in Iraq.

When I say we need to win the war in Iraq, I hear a resounding silence. Not sure what that silence is. Maybe, just maybe it’s the sound of thought.

I dedicate this comment to the future of anti-terrorism and to the safety of Colleen (7), Lilly (4) and Connor (3).

from me, I use that word, “vile”, so often to characterize the msm and dem party.

quoting the OP, but didn’t go back to check. All power to GC!

On a side note, who around here is surprised that few of the Sunday Talkies plan to feature the Mumbai terror attacks.

Well, the “security forces” are the ones who “assaulted” the “militant Muslims” who were “holed up.” Gee that sounds just like the “police” assaulting “armed gunmen” holed up in a Chicago highrise. That’s a police action.

No use of the word “terror” -ist, -ism. The epitome of moral relativism. Both sides are equally at fault because they are using guns, I suppose.
