join MARTA under current law. What we need is for Georgia to cut the state bureaucracy and pass a stripped down bill that expands highways and builds new ones in Metro Atlanta.

It’s a MARTA tax, plain and simple.
We voted it down in 1990 and we will vote it down again.

Converting the free lanes on I-85 to pay lanes did not help their case, as it shows a taste of what’s to come if these politicains get their way!

I also thought that it was irresponsible to send out such a big spending bill given the recession and anemic recovery. Georgia needs to reduce the size of its state govt first.

From what I’ve read about it, it sounds like a bad deal that’s going to spend a lot of money in places that aren’t going to help the transportation problem. I’m all for building more roads and widening the ones we have, but I don’t think the transportation referendum will do that. Considering the scare ads going up in favor of it, I’m becoming more firm in that conviction every day.
