WWMT? ( What Was Mitch Thinking?) Why didn’t McConnell run his plan by the GOP Senate caucus BEFORE going public with it?

Like most here, I’m opposed to Mitch McConnell‘s Plan B.  For a whole host of reasons.  But what I can’t understand is why he decided to put it out there WITHOUT first talking to his caucus, to gauge their reaction.  That makes absolutely NO sense.

It wouldn’t be hard…just call a meeting..everyone’s in town..explain his idea, and get comments. How hard could that be?

From what I’ve read, it looks like a majority of the caucus is OPPOSED to the idea. And, oh yeah..I expect that MOST, if not ALL of the GOP WH candidates will be opposed to it.

So what was Mitch thinking? And what’s Rand Paul thinking?

And what are conservatives gonna think? I know… let’s work hard, volunteer, raise BIG $$, to elect a GOP Senate, so that McConnell can be Majority Leader..yeah, right..

except for Chuck Schumer, I’m not sure there’s a Senator more in love with TV cameras than Mitch McConnell.

would turn on him and the GOP, therefore he had to do something. In all honesty, I can’t blame him. I don’t have a high opinion of the general voting IQ of the electorate (we did get Obama, after all). Perhaps he is wrong this time and the public sees the One for the spoiled brat that he is. I dunno…

and got it off of dead center stalemate. He gave people something to “pay attention to”.
I think he was making a realistic observation about the situation.
BO’s temper tantrum certainly confirms his stubborn stance.
    The ‘negotiations’ were/are going nowhere.
Time is running out and something has to ‘give’ …….

    What is a legacy Republican?

Someone that has survived years in the Senate or House by playing on the dichotomy of conservative big government vs progressive big government. Elected officials that knew the social security trust fund was s lie, but “went along” with democrat lies about it to keep their office.

A republican that was part of the run up of spending before Pelosi took the speaker’s gavel.

The problem with Legacy republicans is that they don’t want to reduce the size or influence of government, they just want to bend it’s impact a little more to the right.

Legacy republicans see the out of control spending as a way to get re-elected. But the don’t want to reduce spending, just take send it to their friends and supporters and take the spending away from supporters of the democrat-progressives.

Legacy republicans can’t be trusted and should be replaced.
