Olympic moment: Aly Raisman clinches US women’s gymnastics gold medal in Londonistan to the tune of “Hava Nagila”

In case you missed it, am extra-special special Olympic moment:

The US womens’ team won the team gold medal in gymnastics yesterday, due in part to some awesome individual performances, as well as several spectacular implosions by some members of the Russian team.

Going into the last rotation, the floor exercises, the US basically needed three solid performances ( no major mistakes) to win the gold. The final US gymnast, Aly Raisman, clinched the gold for the USA with a great performance, to the musical strains of “Hava Nagila.”

    Every one of the young ladies made me so proud to be an American. They are all so young, yet mature beyond those young years. They have handled themselves with an enormous amount of class and have made it obvioius to all of us watching that they really do look at themselves as a team. I watched the interview following the medal ceremony and each of them praised other team members and reinforced their strength was in teamwork.

    Congratulations to our women’s gymnastics team. You have made us all proud.
