Sequestration is bad for GDP, meaning bad for jobs, so it definitely should be avoided. You can’t have the governmental sector and non-governmental sector deleveraging at the same time without a recession.

I think the GOP should be the Party of Jobs, good jobs, high value-added jobs that put Americans back to work and raise median household income. A lot of this can be accomplished at the state and local level by Republican Governors and Mayors, meanwhile the House GOP should make sure the federal government doesn’t do anything counterproductive.

If young people, minorities, women, see the GOP bringing good jobs to their states and cities, they will vote Republican, why wouldn’t they?
