Scott Rasmussen: “Republican Establishment Declares War on GOP Voters”

The link below is to a column by Scott Rasmussen from 1/11/2013. It clearly, and succinctly, states the problem that we conservatives face with the GOP establishment in Washington. It is a must read.

The message is not new; we are all aware of the problem. What is rare, and a pleasant surprise, to see somewhat like Rasmussen clearly define the problem. The parameters of the 2014 election are already being drawn. The race for the WV GOP senate nomination is the first shot.

2014 will most likely determine if the GOP continues to exist as presently constituted. The Republican establishment still does not understand that it is we who have elected them, and they must reflect, and adopt, the policies, laws, and values that we hold dear.

The upcoming debate over the debt ceiling, and the attempt to finally begin to get control over spending, and of the size of the government., is the last chance for Boehner, and McConnell. If they are not successful, 2014 will not matter.

When you get right down to it Republicans in Congress, for the most part, don’t have the will nor the desire to change the status quo in Washington D.C. in my opinion.

Establishment Republicans can talk a good talk but on numerous occasions they have failed to walk the walk. The result is a nation which is going bankrupt under Democrat Party rule as Barack Obama continues to enact his socialist agenda basically at will. Barack Obama has demonstrated contempt for the Constitution and the things he can’t pass legislatively he simply ‘bypasses’ Congress altogether and does it by executive fiat or through regulation. And Republicans keep letting him get away with it for the most part.

John Boehner and other establishment Republicans say they will do this and that in order to get America back on its feet financially. But when push comes to shove i.e. when Obama continues to push Republicans to enact his socialist agenda, there is little resistance from Republicans in return. Bully Obama usually ends up winning because Republicans ultimately “cave” to Obama’s ridiculous demands. The math is quite simple. When you don’t STAND for something you end up FALLING for anything. Republicans in Congress for the most part refuse to stand on principle and the result is an Obama administration that continues to implement their destructive socialist agenda and the result is an America that continues to grow deeper and deeper into debt.

Let’s face it shall we? Establishment Republicans are just as addicted to ‘money’ as Democrats are in my opinion. “The love of money is the root of all kinds of evil” according to the good Book. When the love of money has a grip on your ‘soul’ the only solution is a personal decision to break free of that addiction. If establishment Republicans refuse to break free of their money addiction, Democrats will have won the “war” and America will continue to decline and ultimately become insolvent. Not a pretty picture huh?

The riots, chaos and upheaval that afflicts Greece will also afflict America unless politicians get America’s fiscal house in order. That’s a given by the way. And that’s the bleak future America faces because Republicans in the House (who control the money purse – and have control of the House) talk a big talk, but in the end, always seem to “cave” to Democrats ruthless demands. Thus Republicans are ‘complicit’ in the decline and bankruptcy of the United States of America. No ‘backbone’ is the root cause of this potential impending disaster. The Founding Fathers must be rolling over in their graves at the wimpy politicians up on Capitol Hill. John Boehner will keep smoking his cigarettes and drinking his booze and crying his crocodile tears and will eventually retire from his cushy job with an extremely nice retirement package that most Americans can only dream about. Establishment Republicans are playing the same ‘ol game and are basically in cahoots with their Democratic Party cohorts in my opinion. Establishment Republicans don’t want to “rock the boat” nor lose all those extravagant perks or their high paid salaries… doled out to them… in care of the American taxpayer.

I think the only way for conservatives to ‘save’ America from the brink is to always and only vote for candidates that share true conservative values and ideals. Conservatives made huge gains in the 2010 midterm election and they also won a few important battles in the 2012 presidential election. Ted Cruz is one fine example. But conservatives must do a better job when background checking potential candidates. Murdock and Aiken are good men but they obviously had a habit of sticking their feet in their mouth on more than one occasion. Christine O’Donnell and Sharon Angle resulted in the same type of scenario in the 2010 midterm election. Saving America from its current plight is a difficult task needless to say. But by the grace of God and with true conservative conviction and determination, all things are possible. George Washington and his men never gave up when crossing the Delaware river. The Colonists won a great battle and eventually the war because American patriots, against extreme odds, determined never to give up. Establishment Republicans in Congress could learn a few things from history. Oh, that’s right. Jellyfish don’t have spines do they.

Yes, the battle lines are being drawn inside the Republican Party and our options — as well as our enemies within — are becoming clearer and clearer. For both sides. So, retreat is not an option for either side.

But, like you, I have faith that we will prevail for two reasons. One, God never needs a majority of warriors to win any battle. And two, our principles are superior in every way — which is a huge threat to the establishment in Washington.

I’d like to know how the “7/10 Democrats” felt once they realize that their paycheck is going to be lower because of the deal they approve of. For many people I know, that 2% FICA tax increase comes down to at least 50-100 dollars a month. You’re not getting that back in a income tax refund, either.

They will as always try to blame their financial woes on Bush. That’s why we need to not wait until this happens and start now by setting people straight.
