Blue Fridays.

My son, Donald Paul, sent this to me and asked for exsposure for it.I don’t know who started this, but it is a good idea, and I will be blue on Fridays, from now on;

Very soon, you will see a great many people wearing blue every Friday. The reason? Americans who support our troops used to be called the ‘silent majority’. We are no longer silent, and are voicing our love for God, country and home in record breaking numbers. We are not organized, boisterous or overbearing.

Many Americans, like you, me and all our friends, simply want to recognize that the vast majority of America supports our troops. Our idea of showing solidarity and support for our troops with dignity and respect starts this Friday — and continues each and every Friday until the troops all come home, sending a deafening message that every red-blooded American who supports our men and women afar, will wear something blue. By word of mouth, press, TV — let’s make the United States on every Friday a sea of blue much like a homecoming football game in the bleachers. If every one of us who loves this country will share this with acquaintances, coworkers, friends, and family, it will not be long before the USA is covered in BLUE and it will let our troops know the once ‘silent’ majority is on their side more than ever, certainly more than the media lets on. The first thing a soldier says when asked ‘What can we do to make things better for you?’ is: ‘We need your support and your prayers.’ Let’s get the word out and lead with class and dignity, by example, and wear something blue every Friday

My son served in Iraq from March, to August in 2003 with the Third Infantry Division from Fort Hood, TX
I couldn’t say no.

      From a little googling, I find RedFridays.org, which presents it much like this Blue Friday does.

      Snopes verifies that such an email thing was passed around. They go on to say that it’s not their place to say whether the movement was genuine – they said if people are wearing red, then it’s genuine, otherwise, no.

      Wikipedia had a write-up about it too.

      On the other hand, I also found some stuff on Blue Friday too. Sure looks like Red Friday was the original one though.

      All these groups need to get their heads together in one meeting and get combined, otherwise the whole effort is diluted and nobody knows what anything stands for.

      But per my comment above, there need to be some people getting on the same page, or this all won’t amount to much.

        Maybe I should of did a little bit of a search on it before the post. I didn’t hear of either until my son sent me the Blue Friday thing.
        If there was a Red Friday thing going on, I didn’t see or hear of it.
        It could have been Red for Bush, and is now Blue for Obama.
        I don’t know,
        And if it is two competing entities, then they should get together for the common good.
        Still going to wear blue on Friday, though.

          Please understand that. More of an overall plea toward the people who start these things – just get together with like-minded folk.
