MEMBER DIARY

Dear Mr. Netanyahu,

You don’t know me and the likelihood is that you never will, but I owe you a debt of gratitude, one that I should be paying to the President of the United States.  Unfortunately, both Mr. Bush and Mr. Obama have plainly refused to take the battle to our sworn enemies.  We know for a fact that the Iranians helped al-Queda, Iraq for years with intelligence, training and supplies.  Iranian interference in Iraq was clearly a factor in the deaths of thousands of men and women in the US military, specifically with the advent of the Explosively Formed Penetrators (EFP’s) in Iraq as American forces began to harden the vehicles that our people traveled the otherwise deadly roads.

In September of 2005 my daughter, A1C Elizabeth Jacobson was killed by the cowards of al-Queda with one of the first such EFP’s.  An investigation revealed that the members of a tribe based in Safwan had conspired to kill members of the US military, but it appears that the strategic needs of the military, in keeping the people of Safwan as “allies” outweighed the needed military operation to capture or kill the people who operated out of Safwan.  It is true that her commander is also at fault for the deaths of my daughter and Sgt. Steve Morin by ordering regularly scheduled logistics caravans.  From what I could discover, one could set their watch by the regularity of these caravans, despite being warned that such scheduled actions would eventually draw the attention of the enemy.

So, here I am indebted to you for killing one of the members of an enemy that I would like to have taken action against myself.  I don’t particularly like proxies, but unfortunately, I found myself in a position that made obtaining justice for my daughter difficult, to say the least.  To you and the men who carried out the operation and the all the people who supported them, thank you.
