Lead Danger?…What About Abortions!

I read this warning recently, contained in a bag of darts:

WARNING: This product contains lead, known to the State of California to cause cancer, and birth defects or other reproductive harm.

Wow, I live in Iowa, why doesn’t the State of Iowa know this.  I immediately wanted to call the Governor’s office and let him in on this important information.  Could we, in the mid-west, really be that far behind California and not know about this.  Could this be a cover-up of monumental proportion?

I decided to sit on the front porch and ponder, a thing we fly-over-states folks know a little about.  I thought, no one, in their right mind, could want reproductive harm.  Surely, this is something almost ALL Americans can come to agreement on.  After all, even though no pregnant woman would probably chew on this dart, the great State of California thought enough about it to pass a bill requiring this warning.

While still in pondering mode…it hit me.  I know abortion can cause reproductive harm! I mean, what can be more harm to reproduction than destroying a child in the womb. So I immediately went to a Planned Parenthood of California website and did a search on “Reproductive harm”, thinking that they must have that warning for folks wanting an abortion.  But there was none.

I was flabbergasted.  The State of California was warning me that the lead in a small dart is known to cause reproductive harm…but no warning that abortion WILL cause reproductive harm.

My first response was to call the Governor of the State of California and let them in on this.  I was sure they’d want to remedy this in the next legislative session.  Then, once again, back to pondering…I thought wait, I’ve heard Senators Diane Feinstein and Barbara Boxer ranting about how they were for women’s reproductive rights, they’re from the State of California…so wouldn’t they want to know and warn others about the reproductive harm abortion can do…especially if the child was a female…destruction would sure harm the baby girl’s reproductive rights.

But wait…there is a better way…why not post this information, here in my diary…and have all of you out there send a copy of this to both Feinstein and Boxer…or any other politian you might think of…or anyone you think might like to know

Senator Diane Feinstein and Senator Barbara Boxer

That should get this message across to them and maybe they’ll sponsor a national message before all abortions.

WARNING: Abortion has been known to the United States of America to cause pain, reproductive harm, psychological harm, and death.

WOW…wouldn’t that be great.

BTW: This is well within the 5,000 character limit their e-mail websites allow.

Thanks and God bless you all!

George Washington McNugget Feels Rath of eBay

A Nebraska woman trying to raise funds for her church youth to attend summer camp has felt the rath of eBay.  She is auctioning a McNugget that really does resemble George Washington. After reaching a whopping $10,000, eBay decided to yank the auction claiming it was expired food, even though it has remained frozen, albeit for 3 years.  The auction clearly stated that it was not for human consumtion.

After numerous complaints eBay relented, however the auction re-started from $0.  At last look, it was up to $3,150.  eBay did say they would contact all bidders, but I have talked to a bidder and they have yet to be contacted, it’s been over 24 hours…more than enough time in a world that travels at net speed.

Potential bidders, complaining it was removed, were told that it should not have been listed under food.  When eBay was  told it wasn”t listed under food, they said, it was past the expiration date.  Excuses after excuses.

Finally, when eBay relented, they said they would make an exception, because of the charitable nature.  Although, one e-mail from eBay stated that it was removed in error.  Well, which is it.

My unofficial opininion is that some liberal anti religious employee removed it because of the high dollar amount, that they could not stand seeing going to a church youth group.  After all, it had already been up almost 2 days and not removed until it reached the $10,000 mark.  It had also gone viral…it was picked up by newspapers in Canada, France, England, and Pakistan.  Websites allover the country had also picked it up, MSN, Huffington Post, Yahoo News and many others. Even Jay Leno had joked about it on his monologue on 2/24/2012.

I can”t help but wonder, if not for the many complaints, whether eBay would have told her, too bad, and the big losers would have been the church youth.

U.S. Gov: OK for women to die…Not OK to get pregnant.

Well, that’s not an exact quote, but of all the drugs in the world to choose from, the Dept of Health and Human Services, backed by the Obama Administration chose contraception as the drug that employers MUST provide free of charge.  Not heart medication, not diabetes medication, not aids medication, and not even cancer medication. All of which are deadly if they are not taken.

The talking heads all came out this week proclaiming that this was a “women’s” issue.  That we must make it available to ALL women.  How important women’s health is.  If it is so important, wouldn’t life saving be more important than pregnancy avoidance.  Barbara Boxer, Sen (D) – Ca, said that women’s health trumps religious freedom, a ridiculous comparison, but is she also saying that pregnancy trumps death?

Now, I can’t speak for everyone, but I would think, given the choice of death or pregnancy, most would choose pregnancy.  If they can’t afford contraception drugs, how can they be expected to afford any other type of medication.  especially those for life threatening illnesses which cost way more than contraception.

Once again, the Obama administration is making choices that they have no business making.  Just like they choose which companies can get bail-outs and can survive, they are choosing which medications you can get if you cant afford them and who will survive.

But wait, what if you can afford them…you also get them for free.  Well, it’s not really free, is it?  It’s an expense, and how do companies pay for rising expenses…that’s right…they pass them on as higher prices.  So once again, we the taxpayer and consumer pay the bill for things we don’t get to consume.

Hmmm, maybe I’m on the right track.  If they can force companies to give free contraceptive drugs…maybe they can force them to give free heart medications and diabetic drugs, and cancer and aids drugs.  I mean it’s only fair.  But why stop at drugs…that’s only part of the health equation…why not no-deductible medical care, just in case some can’t afford it. Remember, these requirements would only be on those companies that PROVIDE health care benefits.  If they could no longer afford to provide them, then what…

“I happen to be a proponent of a single-payer universal health care program. I see no reason why the United States of America, the wealthiest country in the history of the world, spending 14 percent of its gross national product on health care, cannot provide basic health insurance to everybody.”…Barack Obama, 2003 speaking at the AFL-CIO Civil, Human and Women’s Rights Conference.

Bingo…there is a method to their madness, after all.

Rx FOR THOUGHT: So, the rich need to pay their fair share in taxes, but we all need to pay for their contraception.

Bogus Polls – Republican vs Obama

I was recently looking at poll numbers for Obama verses any and all Republican candidates.  At first glance, it appears that Republicans are not doing all that well.  BUT, that’s at first glance.  Let’s look at the devil, which we all know is in the details.

Real Clear Politics, has Obama over Romney by 4.2.  Santorum is down by 8.6, although a Rasmussen poll has him over Obama by 1. Gingrich down by 10.6.  The important number that most media folks forget to look at (for obvious reasons) is…Obama’s actual support.  Against Romney he has 48.3% support and against Santorum, he has 49.8%.  It’s only against Gingrich that he breaks through the 50% point at 51%.  Even against Paul he only draws 48.2%.

I can’t help but remember hearing over and over again, during Bush the Junior’s re-election that the 50% magic number was SO important…all of a sudden it lost it’s appeal.

But I digress…why are the polls vs Obama so bogus.  Simple…Romney bad mouths Gingrich…Gingrich bad mouths Romney…the press bad mouths both…Santorum bad mouths Gingrich…and so on and on it goes, all throughout the primary season.  Obama only gets a tiny bit of trashing by the Republican candidates and props and kudos by the news media.  Hardly an even platform.

It’s the old case of apples vs oranges or as the press would have you believe, it’s a case of the old mean-spirited Republican against the bright shing star and all omniscient Obama.

So, until a Republican is chosen and that candidate goes head to head with Obama, all those polls are bogus and about as useful as Michelle’s healthy food list in Barack’s hand (the one that’s not holding the ice cream cone).
