When will the Ron Paul Addicts Grow Up

My brother in law, who will remain nameless, is one of the Ron Paul sycophants and I find it amazing the devotion these people have to the man. One thing that slipped out from him today is that he thinks Mitt Romney is a truly evil man. I was stunned. Really?

Apparently, he believes all the propaganda the left has been putting out on Mitt Romney. i.e. he was really at Bain until 2001, even though he couldn’t have been because he was managing the 2000 Winter Olympics. He’s hiding his money all over world and he’s he’s filthy rich. I quote “I believe Romney talks conservative values NOW but once elected, he will enact massive government. Based on his inconsistant behavior in the past. I believe Obama to be a true Socialist and could never support him, and I can not support someone who has no integrity.”

He then compared him to a used car salesman and to Ross Perot. From all this, he called Mitt evil. Now, I believe Hitler, Stalin, Lenin, Mao, Pol Pot, Kim Jong Il are evil. I don’t think Romney is in the same class. I’m not sure even Obama is in that class of evil, but the book isn’t completely written on that yet. (I hope and pray that book is closed soon before he sinks to that level.)

I’m not sure anything or anyone is going to sway people like him. His mind is made up. The only thing I can think of to say to these people is:

Either how canst thou say to thy brother, Brother, let me pull out the mote that is in thine eye, when thou thyself beholdest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of thine own eye, and then shalt thou see clearly to pull out the mote that is in thy brother’s eye. Luke 6:42

The Ron Paul sycophants would be well served to learn the definition of evil. If Romney loses doe to them sitting on their hands, who will be the evil ones.

    I know plenty of hard-core Paul supporters and they are very committed, to put it nicely.

    But keep trying to persuade them. Show them why Romney will be a fiscal conservative when President. If they give you the whole “flip-flop” argument, explain to them the reasons why Romney has changed his positions on certain issues and why he was justified in doing so. Explain why its important to unseat the Obama administration from a policy standpoint. Give them facts that illustrate why Romney is and will be comitted to conservative principles while in office.

    Of course, if your brother-in-law is drawn to Paul’s foreign policy, he wouldn’t be voting for the GOP in November either way.

    Anyways, don’t focus on blame before we’ve lost the election – keep your head up and be a role model for conservatism. Hopefully, your brother in law will come around.

    My brother in law is not going to listen to anyone. He claims to be open minded, but that is always a sign of a closed mind. Best of all he spouts all RP’s economics while going through is 2nd bankrupcy. He’s got a severe case of stupid going on. He’s not going to be convinced.

    I will counter him as best I can and try to keep him from influencing anyone in the process.

    Honestly, it’s maddening. These people are just like dealing with liberals. Wouldn’t it be interesting if Ron Paul endorsed Mitt at the convention. Man what would these people do. their world would be shattered.

    and nutjob paul went 0-50 in the republican primary. that means voters in ALL FIFTY STATES directly rejected that loon and his cult followers.

    has a lot of good that he contributes to our society.

    He supports auditing the federal reserve, opposes raising the debt ceiling, and supports most cuts to wasteful spending.

    I even agree with him about cutting some ridiculous foreign aid like giving to China!

    His son, Senator Rand Paul, is AWESOME!

    But reality has to be accepted. I know some Ron Paul supporters who accept this reality and are behind Romney. I know others who won’t accept anybody but Ron Paul. This is truly sad because a vote for someone else besides Romney is a vote for Obama.

    These people are easily played by the left. It’s pretty sad to see it in action.
